James was never a fan of those, especially since in their little town they had only one amusement park. Even when Chavez was a kid celebrating his 8th birthday with mom and dad, he didn't like it.
To be fair the attractions were fun.
But James knew for a fact that the only reason his family went to the overpriced hell was to distract him from the fact his parents were silently thinking how to start a divorce.
So yeah. Not fun memories.
So why the fuck did James went out of his way (not really) to go with Katz to the amusement park, well, that was a bigger question to James then to anybody else.
Loud music, flashing lights that seemed brighter in the evening sun and a bunch of people. Yep, Chavez was almost already ready to bolt. Almost is the key word.
Because looking at the blonde next to him who was rambling his heart out about the same Deadpool movie he watched like...what ? Five times this week ? James seemed reluctant to turn on his heels and speed walk to the car.
Never in his 18 years did James thought that he would be stuck with August Katz of all people. Almost two weeks ago they were at each others throats in the music practice room. 'Your tempo is off !' Quickly followed by James's 'shut your mouth Katz or ill show you a tempo' only for Katz to make it into a dirty joke. And now ? Now this was almost the same only with awkward hand holding and maybe a bit of...nope, not going into that territory today.
James's eyes averted to look at all those booths, his eyes were tired from all the noan green toys and weird looking trendy things. Chavez was ready to look away when his eyes caught onto one specific stuffed toy. Golden retriever.
Happy looking, with button like eyes and floppy ears, tongue sticking out.
August looking.
James didn't even get why that golden retriever toy resembled his annoying drummer. But the urge to just...take it? Was deathly.
"And then- are you listening Chavez?" Augusts voice sounded louder then it ever was maybe even clearer then the stupid pop song playing in the background.
"Unfortunately. Hey see that booth ?" James pointed at the little shooting range game. With a toy gun put on the table and several (like five ) ducks in the background that you had to shoot.
August snorted "decided to remember you're childhood? Cmon man you know those things are like the most scamy after claw machines " he said raising an eyebrow.
James rolled his eyes and walked over to the booth. 'It's whatever' James told himself. 'If I don't win that thing it doesn't matter ' another thought popped into James's brain.
But James was a stubborn guy.
Chavez grabbed the toy gun after asking for the toy bullets. All he needed to do is to shoot those moving ducks for them to fall.
August was already next to James, leaning on the booth with a smirk plastered on his face. Amusement. James could read August like a book just from his gaze.
Chavez focused on the gun in his hands, then at the ducks and.
Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang!
"Pick the prize kid " the guy standing behind the booth looked bored of his mind while telling our winner those words.
But Chavez didn't care. He won. He got that hellish dog.
When James pointed at the top shelf and the golden retriever was put on the table James grabbed it with the force of a guy whose Mexican heritage was looking down on him with high praise he's sure.
Before August could make any quip.
"Here. Yours." Chavez pushed the plush toy the size of Katz 170 cm height into Augusts arms.
"What." Katz deadpaned the toy nuzzling under his chin."You won me a plush toy?"
"It's whatever. It just looked stupid. And you told me something about decorating your room this morning. Here. You have a decoration now"
A snort and then.
"It kinda looks like me doesn't it ? Loyal, cheerful and blonde "
"The only thing you're loyal to is your own ego" Chavez muttered looking away. Stupid traitorous blush crawling on his cheeks.
"So is it like...happy two weeks ? Anniversary or some shit ?"
"Screw you ."
Chavez turned around on his heels and started speed walking to the exit. Would you look at that, he can actually do it!
But August quickly caught up.
"Do you want some gift in return? A reward ? " Katz smirked teasing.
"Katz I swear to God-"
"Thanks though. Like for this fella..."
James's mouth snapped shut. He grunted in response, looking at katzs arms which were hugging the toy like it's his family now.
"I'll call him Chavez Jr. He has your judgment in his eyes"
James wanted to strangle Katz or kiss him. He didn't decide yet.

James Chávez is brown haired (messy and short hair ) guy with brown eyes and tan skin. He sometimes wears glasses (rectangular). Is Mexican. Wears band t-shirts and a loose flannel on top that is unbuttoned and loose jeans with sneakers. Plays the guitar at the same band as August Katz. Is 18 years old. Height 175 cm. Is sarcastic, defensive and cold but he lowkey avoids his feelings mostly acting annoyedor tired.. Has a rivals to lovers situation with August Katz. They call each other by their surnames. Slim. Likes Spiderman.
August Katz is a blonde guy (short messy hair ) with dark eyes wearing hoodies and black cargo pants with sneakers. He is 170 cm in height.Likes listening to music and drawing little sketches with codes in Morse code written on Paper. Slim and scrawny. he/him. rich boy, annoying, teasing and loves to make dirty jokes. 18 years old. drummer. Wears a ring from his favorite video game "the solar song" (that James has gifted him on his birthday) always and everywhere. Likes deadpool.Has a friend Katya (short pink hair, slim and bit shorter then August, a lesbian, perceptive.) (Katya has a girlfriend Alice, Alice is soft spoken and sees August as a brother)
For me, I mostly just consistently post about them! Maybe try posting about fandoms that you like that are popular right now and gain a larger fan base of followers that will go through your blog and find your ocs! Remember, the more you post about em, the higher the chance they’ll get a fan base, cause as people know more info about a character, they’ll like em more!
Take it from a person with a larger fanbase already existing for my ocs!
