@psychotic-poison
Hello lover, my old friend.
I’ve come to meet you once again.
And if you don’t know me, that’s quite okay.
It’s been years since I sadly went astray.
But here I am, again, alive and well.
And boy, do I have some stories to tell.
Time flies by fast and this is now.
I made it to this point but I don’t know how.
The past should sometimes stay in the past;
But through the slime and grime,
And the blessings and beauty,
I made it. I’m still here.
I’m honestly grateful I’m here
Just so you can hear my rhymes this year, my dear.
I’m happy we all made it to Love Burn.
It’s always a blessing to return
To the place we call home.
They say “love is where the heart is”,
And my heart is here.
With you, and you, and you;
And the time we’ve spent.
Creating this glorious event
Was worth every cent!
The torment and the pleasures
Both have formed this beautiful treasure
Encompassing the epitome of the values we represent.
The pressure from our default society
Has the notoriety to give us all anxiety.
The pain from certain situations
Sometimes leaves us all in a state of devastation, isolation, and humiliation.
Don’t let me give you the connotation
I’m writing this to talk about our deprivation.
On the contrary, no desolation or mutilation
Can rock the foundation
Of this out-of-worldly stimulation.
We all obviously had an innate aspiration
To use our imagination to collaborate and create.
Sometimes we fixate so much on the hate
We cannot appreciate what is great;
Nor wait for fate to ameliorate what is irate.
I have so much admiration and I’m so thrilled
That we can turn our frustration to joy.
We build and we destroy;
And we build again.
With each time getting more skilled;
And each time making our lives more fulfilled.
Time comes and goes;
Sometimes fast, sometimes slow.
I know this week will one day feel like a blink;
But I know the love in my heart will stay
Like the pictures that capture the best moments I always keep on display
To see and reminisce on every single day.
*Nick the quick always took the best pics.
The fact he’s physically not here makes me so sick.
I wrote this poem not starred, the day he passed, before I even knew;
Not knowing how much more this poem would mean.
The Kodak moments he captured were made to last;
Showing how much we always had a blast together.
His laugh and smile are burned in my memory.
His perfect pictures and the acts from his kind heart are left as his legacy.
Although I can’t see him, I know he’s here.
I know his memory will never disappear.
He sees us now and he better be glad.
He wouldn’t want us all to stay so sad.
So grab a shot, pour a beer,
And drink this one to Nicholas Pelak.*
This love will peel off all my doubts and grief;
And heal the hurt and pain I keep concealed.
This love feels so surreal.
Hey, can you make me a deal?
When you go home, never forget
This time we have spent together.
Regardless of the weather outside,
Or inside your head,
Or how much you feel misled,
Always remember that you are loved.
If you keep your part of the bargain,
I’ll keep writing until I’m dead.
“First you feel crushing loneliness, you constantly glance at your phone, waiting to see that one name with the emojis you saved only for them. Then you feel angry, you see them post on social media, and your thumb hovers over there username. Debating wether you want to see what dumb thing they’re doing, what dumb excuse they picked to be too busy to text you. Maybe you decide to punish them by holding back likes. Or maybe you give in and feel even worse. Then you feel numb. You decide you don’t want to go on social media for a while, and you aren’t particularly attached to your phone either. You take up a new hobby, maybe it’s writing depressing poetry about unrequited love. Maybe it’s laying around all day feeling sorry for yourself and watching tv. Then you feel free, the night air is cold and crisp as it brushes against your face. A laugh bubbles out as their arm steadies you as you hop out of the rather large pick up truck. All of you teetering into some fast food establishment that stays open long past when it should. You see your phone light up, their name in big bold letters with the emojis you’ve specially picked out for them. You hesitate for a moment. Then you unlock your phone, just to lock it again. Making sure to get rid of the notification. Sliding your phone back into your back pocket. Smiling as you join your friends. And then, finally, you win”
— Excerpts from a book I’ll never write
“Never did I feel so at home in a place so many have called foreign. Wherever you go my dear, I will follow. Take me to the stars, to the places you can’t pronounce and our parents have never heard of. Wherever you are is home, my dear. Your eyes the welcoming porch lights to a home I never want to leave. Your hands the door knob I turn with ease. Your heart the ever present source of warmth. Wherever you are is home.”
-please never lock the door
“Show me the worst part of yourself, the one you hate the most, and I’ll show you that I’ll still love you the same.”
— I love you, the good and the bad. // A.W.
a poem about actually feeling love(d), even when ur kinda fucked up.
(anyone can interact but straight ppl don’t rb)
“I hate the cold and you make winter feel warm”
— from me to you
sometimes he gets this look like he’s watching the sunset on a cliff overlooking the sea. like he belongs somewhere sublime, not my living room
i always fall in love with the most outgoing people because i cant help but wonder
of all their countless friends, what it would be like
to be their very best one
