creative writing blog + sideblog. about is pinned. follows from @wormfoo
note: blog is currently running on a posting queue system while i sort things out - april 3, 2025
Hey writeblr, I’m C. Social media lurker and probably a writer. Adult. Any pronouns. Currently participating in GWYO 2025 (and I’ve done it last year too.) This is a sideblog; I follow from @wormfoo.
!!! Important Note: Due to the nature of certain stories I am currently writing/posting about, please be 16+ to follow/interact with this blog. This is NOT a NSFW blog; themes that might be considered NSFW in nature will be placed under a cut and marked appropriately. I cannot vet everyone who chooses to interact with this blog, but just note I have the block button at my disposal.
This introduction will be a perpetual WIP since it’s gonna be updated whenever I feel like it. But to get a few things out of the way first, here are three stories I’m currently working on. They’re a little undefinable, dark and sapphic, so if you’re into that then maybe these are the stories for you. Without further ado:
puer's 2025 current WIP stories
Hypnotic Elegy to Consciousness
Genre: sci-fi with a sprinkle of horror (and by sprinkle, i mean)
Summary: In a world devastated by conflict over the parasitic lifeform known as Paskho, a mysterious organization called the L=Breach, helmed by individuals corrupted by the Paskho, seeks to revive a powerful human corrupted during the Old Period. Meanwhile, Ishmael Yang, unwilling ally to the Yatagarasu Organization, must stop her old mentor from carrying out the L=Breach’s ultimate goal. Complicating matters further is the shattered Relic from the Old Period human lodged inside her body, and the mysterious visions that come along with it.
Federica Cardoso is no stranger to cruelty. After her sister’s death, Federica has taken the helm at their clinic, treating patients with Chrysalis – the final mutation of Paskho, when it has overtaken the entirety of a human body. Demanding answers about her sister’s death, Federica makes her way to the doorstep of Lucerne GmBH, while navigating a partnership she’s made with the Yatagarasu Organization in her quest for closure. Meanwhile, Federica meets a mysterious woman with Chrysalis who calls herself Eva, claiming to know something important about the head of Lucerne GmBH: Edelweiss Lucerne, a reclusive woman with a history as shadowy as Eva’s. All of them will cross paths in their quest for vengeance, and ultimately, true understanding.
Content Warnings: EXTENSIVE – The CW list for the finished work is going to be very long, please take care. I’m not kidding about the horror aspect. Whenever I talk about this work, I’ll mark CWs in the body text and tags + hide relevant content under a cut. Contains graphic depictions of violence.

Brand Name Farewells
Genre: who knows
Summary: The working title for this is “Soviet Union Vampires” but it’s actually set in Hungary after the 1989 revolutions/Rendszerváltás (also it's set in Austria for a hot second), though the setting is already treading into ahistorical waters so it might as well be fictionalized eastern european country (tm). Charlotte Smith-Darling arrives in Budapest for a rendezvous with her old friend, Eliza Szegedi. Meanwhile, Longmei Zhang tries to escape the past in Vienna, but everything must catch up someday…
Content Warnings: Mild – Themes involve perceptions on death. This is a story made for mature audiences (lol) so there will be some sexual content but it’s very brief. Yes there’s death and sex yes it can always get worse. also vampires. No graphic depictions of violence.

Welcome to Gaia-2
Genre: sci-fi with a dash of political thriller because why not. but it’s more closer to sf to keep things exciting
Summary: All it takes is a single step… Beatrice LaSalle is another new colonist on the floating city Fairehaven on planet Thaumas – one who is particularly keen on documenting life on a GAIA Colony Ship. The people – colonists and planet natives alike – dazzle, everything seems to glow from the moment the sun sets, and everywhere there is a sense of hope, radiating from even the city’s seams. However, not all is as it seems. A mysterious stranger arrives on the shores one day, and with that event comes a whole series of troubles spiraling into something that’s more than just a passing storm.
Content Warnings: Mild – This was one of the first original works from way back in early 2024 that I wrote + researched my butt off for, because I decided to add an extensive overarching structure, ginormous cast of characters, and a bajillion themes. However it was a little bit too ambitious for me regarding how I wanted to tackle its themes, so it’s a bit mild compared to the other 2 works listed above. The major CWs I can think of from the top of my head are mentions of body dysphoria and brief depictions of ableism. No graphic depictions of violence.

Other Info
There are more WIPs of course – i’m that writer who is always in da trenches – but I’ll either post them under a cut on this post, or blab about them in text posts/oc art/etc.
Aside, because i cannot believe i have to say this: absolutely no generative AI is used in my creative writing process whatsoever (no AI-based prompt tools and all that).
You can find me over at:
AO3 at a secret account because i like to pretend i don’t have fanfic writing as a hobby, but if you found it congrats. I don’t really go there anymore unless it’s to post fics and dip
dreamwidth at x95 i’m a bit more interactive there but it’s mainly for writing challenges now + for drafts of both original work + fic.
substack at Puer’s Web Cereals very sporadic updates and barely checked. for 100% freshly squeezed original writings, run like a serial fiction archive. Finished writings are posted here.
Re: this blog, it's mainly reblogs + interaction. I post writing snippets here but the "full length" versions will be at dreamwidth since I'm more familiar w/ the posting syntax there (also it can be hard to read longform posts on tumblr sometimes, so if you're not into tumblrfont then go over there 4 a better reading experience).
Anyways thanks for reading all this. Nice to meet y'all

For October 2025, the Prompt Foundry is having itself another double feature: OC-tober and Ominous October!
OC-tober is meant as a celebration of and chance to share your Original Characters, whether they're fan characters, the cast of your original work, or just little guys who hang out in your brain without much of a story to go along with them yet. Write about them, draw them, cosplay them, compose music for them—whatever sort of creativity they inspire!
Feel free to combine different days’ prompts with each other, or combine them with other events, like Ominous October or events from other communities! You can even check out last year’s OC-tober to see if you might prefer some of those prompts.
If you use this list, please tag me here @thepromptfoundry, I’d love to see your work and learn about your characters!
Respond to as many prompts as you want or as interest you, don’t worry about missing or skipping any. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!

Then, you can take your work and post it under the hashtag #31DOH2025 so others can see what you've written for the prompt!
if you're looking for inspiration or just to see what kinds of things have been made for this challenge there are four other years worth of writings under the hashtags 31DOH2024, 31DOH2023, 31DOH2022, and 31DOH2021.

Alright. It is September again, which means we have three months left until Fluffcember. This should give you more than enough time to prepare - and I am going to post the lists (plural) for this year's challenge.
As you might notice: I learned from the entire "it is summer in the southern hemisphere" thing. And as such I decided it is only fair to just make two lists this year. One with winter-themed prompts as usual, and one with summer themed prompts. It is up to you which one you use, or whether you mix and match.
This does not mean necessarily that there will be no "Fluffcember in July" next year - I will probably make a poll about that in February.
As always: The rules and the prompts are under the cut!
Rules
This challenge is for any and all fandoms, as well as original fiction.
You can participate with fanfictions, fanart, but also graphics, gif collections and similar things.
You can mitch and match the summer and winter prompts as you like.
If you post your works on tumblr, please tag this account (@fluff-cember) and tag it as #fluffcember25, so that I can reblog it!
Also please make sure that if you post it here that you mention the fandom somewhere in the blog. (I want to reblog with fandom tags and I will just not know all fandoms from character names.) Mentioning the prompt would also be very welcome.
If you write something for the challenge, make sure that it is at least 100 words in length.
On Ao3 you can add your works into the collection. The collection will go online in November.
You can post entries belatedly for a day, but not early.
As always: The only fandoms I will not allow are RPF fandoms of people who are still alive or lived within the last 100 years. This very much includes KPop. Where I live the legal rules about this are iffy and I am not gonna risk that. You can of course write it, but such works will not be reblogged or be permitted in the collection. I am sorry about that.

The Polyamships discord server (invite here) is happy to invite you to Polyartober. Inspired by Inktober, but for polyamory, Polyartober brings you 31 daily prompts (+ 10 alt prompts) for October to get you in the creative flow to make more art.
You voted for your favorites and here they are!
Polyartober rules
1) Make a drawing* of your polyam ship (it doesn’t have to be in ink. Stick figures welcome. Not all characters have to be in the drawing, but the subject of the drawing must be polyam in nature)
2) Post it**
3) Hashtag it with #polyartober and #polyartober25. You can also mention us @polyamships to make sure we see it.
4) Repeat
*So you want to write instead of draw? We created this event focused on artists, but if you feel inspired, please go ahead and create something else: writing, gifs, moodboards, meta, etc. The most important rule is to make it polyam and have fun!
**Please post your work mentioning the fandom and characters somewhere in the post so we can tag it appropriately. Use the character’s name as it appears in canon (this may mean Lastname Firstname for some fandoms) - if they only have a 1 word name please put the fandom in brackets after it e.g. Parker (Leverage).
Feel free to combine this event with any other events that allow it such as kinktober, bingos, ficathons, etc. for an extra challenge.
AO3 COLLECTION (for art and fic)
**As a reminder, there will be no PolyamShippingDay in October, as we'll focus on this month-long event instead.**
wrote a fic for the 2025 ficwip 5k challenge! @ficwip5k @ficwip
Title: miracle of happiness | Series: Distant Oceanic Getaway | Rating: Teen & Up Audiences (PG-13) | Relationship(s): femslash, Kelsey/Player Character (Maeve) | Wordcount: 922
Summary: Occurrences regarding a crossed threshold.
Notes: Ficlet - Alternative Universe setting which follows Kelsey's secret route + adds some headcanon details. The Player Character is going by the default name "Maeve" and is using She/Her pronouns.
"Kill your darlings" means "if something is holding you back, get rid of it, even if it sounds pretty."
That's it! That's all it means! It means if you're stuck and stalled out on your story and you could fix the whole block by removing something but you're avoiding removing that thing because it's good, you remove that thing. That's the darling.
It does NOT mean
That you have to get rid of your self-indulgent writing
That you should delete something just because you like it (?wtf?)
That you need to kill off characters (??? what)
That you have to pare your story down to the absolute bare bones
That you have to delete anything whatsoever if you don't want to
The POINT is that you STOP FEELING GUILTY for throwing out good writing that isn't SERVING THE STORY.
The POINT is that you don't get so HUNG UP on the details that you lose sight of the BIG PICTURE.
I have a section of my notes document called "The Cutting Room", based off of old film editing, where I put everything I need to cut but was good.
And let me tell you something, it is SO much easier to move something to the cutting room than to delete it, which has served me very well for getting things that need to leave out of the story.
Plus, if I find a spot for it later, it still exists.
Co-sign all of this. I hate when people misapply "kill your darlings" to mean "cut anything fun or self-indulgent." Also, I have a whole rant about how sometimes you should just marry your darlings and kill everything else.
I’ve given a lot of feedback (and received even more) across my writing career, and I think one of the most common things I’ve traded with writers is Get Specific. In everything, all the time. Specificity is easy to gloss over because we aren’t actually seeing the scene in front of us—so while we may subconsciously know the trees are cedars, we just write trees. However, word choices matter, and those tiny specific details are painting your world, carrying your tone, and exploring the uniqueness of your writer voice.
What kind of trees? What colour is the rug? What’s included in the breakfast and how does it taste? It’ll be easier to take away too many details than to go back through and try to find every missed opportunity.
However, the level of detail also depends on what the character knows. A biologist should be able to name the different kinds of plants around them with specificity, whereas another character may generalize to ‘ferns’ or ‘small yellow flowers’. Either way, you can get specific using just a general level of knowledge—size, colour, texture, smell, taste, etc.
We create specificity in focusing in on our five senses. If we need to consider what the flower smells like, we’ll have to consider what kind of flower it is, so ‘pretty flowers lined the walkway’ becomes ‘delicate stalks of lavender lined the walkway, their sweet, floral scent hanging on the air—reminding me of bathroom soap.’ Etc. etc.
Try picking out a scene you’ve written recently and see where you can add more specific imagery—how does it change the tone of the scene?
