Alright. It is September again, which means we have three months left until Fluffcember. This should give you more than enough time to prepare - and I am going to post the lists (plural) for this year's challenge.
As you might notice: I learned from the entire "it is summer in the southern hemisphere" thing. And as such I decided it is only fair to just make two lists this year. One with winter-themed prompts as usual, and one with summer themed prompts. It is up to you which one you use, or whether you mix and match.
This does not mean necessarily that there will be no "Fluffcember in July" next year - I will probably make a poll about that in February.
As always: The rules and the prompts are under the cut!
Rules
This challenge is for any and all fandoms, as well as original fiction.
You can participate with fanfictions, fanart, but also graphics, gif collections and similar things.
You can mitch and match the summer and winter prompts as you like.
If you post your works on tumblr, please tag this account (@fluff-cember) and tag it as #fluffcember25, so that I can reblog it!
Also please make sure that if you post it here that you mention the fandom somewhere in the blog. (I want to reblog with fandom tags and I will just not know all fandoms from character names.) Mentioning the prompt would also be very welcome.
If you write something for the challenge, make sure that it is at least 100 words in length.
On Ao3 you can add your works into the collection. The collection will go online in November.
You can post entries belatedly for a day, but not early.
As always: The only fandoms I will not allow are RPF fandoms of people who are still alive or lived within the last 100 years. This very much includes KPop. Where I live the legal rules about this are iffy and I am not gonna risk that. You can of course write it, but such works will not be reblogged or be permitted in the collection. I am sorry about that.

So, as y'all know: last year I made the Fluffcember in July event, to have the winter themed event also once in the months that the southern hemisphere experiences as winter. There were not as many participants, but some.
Now, there is question: would you want another Fluffcember in July event this year? Or is Fluffcember in December alone alright?
Okay, given the results, I will see if I can make a full set of prompts. I have to look into it a bit, because I know that July will likely be a bit stressful to me. I am gonna see if I can do a full list - or alternately maybe just a 30 prompt list (15 winter and 15 summer). I am gonna come back to this in a few days.

Okay, after testing this out with my event-related accounts, this is how the current "reblog notes do not go back to original poster" works as of right now - as I have seen event-related account like my own worry about this.
There are right now three different reblog scenarios:
Simple reblog. No additional tags. No additional commentary added in the reblog. Just reblog of a post as is. In this case the original poster gets notified over both further reposts, and further reblogs directly coming from the repost.
Reblog with information added in tags. Same rules apply. The system does not count the reblog as a new post in chain. If someone interacts with the repost (likes, reblog, comments) this appears in the notes of both the reposter and OP.
Reblog with more stuff added in post (like the actual body of the post, be it pictures, be it something written, anything that is not just tags). In this case the OP gets informed about the first repost, but any additional interaction with the reblog goes to the new poster.
Meaning: if you run an event right now, you can reblog the posts by participants and they will see further interaction, as long as you keep additional information/comments/whatever limited to tags! Do not add any commentary into the body of the reblog.
This also holds true for any other form of reblog. If you reblog art/fics/fanwork just reblog, and add any friendly comments and stuff into the tags, rather than the body.
It still absolutely is a horrible fucking change, because it a) enables bullying, and b) turns the entire bloody discussion culture into a headache, because you actually actively have to follow up on the threads to see who has answered what. @staff @tumblr @changes should change this back. But for the moment, this is how this is how you are able to work around. Stick to the tags.
Hi! Do you know of any other monthly/quarterly prompt challenges that take into account both hemispheres, like you do? It's frustrating to only ever have the northern hemisphere be under consideration, and I appreciate that your challenge allows for both winter and summer prompts.
We're going into the hottest part of our year now, and it'd be great to have something Jan-March that has prompts for both seasons, where we can share our work no matter which hemisphere.
Thanks!
Sadly I do not know any others. But I absolutely understand that frustration. Like, I never even considered my norther-hemisphere centric view until someone noted it during Fluffcember last year. The only prompt challenges I know off for January and February are both whump-centric, and those do not really seem to be seasonal. (The one being @whumpuary, I have to look up the February one again.)
But I absolutely do agree that it should be something that more folks who make these challenges should keep in mind. While this accursed site obviously is mostly folks from the US and Europe, it is especially us folks from Europe and the US who need to challenge the way that we assume certain things to be the norm for everyone.
If anyone else in the comments knows of other challenges, please share! I will gladly use this account to amplify!

A Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom fanfiction for @fluff-cember event Fluffcember 2025 Winter Editon day 30 icicle.
Outside the castle window, Prince Hateno and his sister Princess Zelda look up to see the icicles hanging on the roof and Hateno ask, "I wonder when they are going to fall down?" and Zelda said to her brother, "I think they are just going to melt away and become water, just like Aunt Dazel said ice melt into water." Prince Hateno said to his sister, "Zelda, those icicles are too big to become water. They are going to fall down when they become to melt away." and Princess Zelda ask Hateno, "Do you want to put that theory to the test, Hateno?" which the prince said to Zelda, "No, I'm going to have it fall on my head?" and Zelda giggle as she feel she won this fight.
Fluffcember short story number 30! This one was written for the prompt "Icicle".
Once again, it's not beta read. Kudos, comments and shares are received with open arms and gratitude - maybe they'll help to get rid of this stupid migraine that's been plaguing me for three days...
Icicle
Rated T, 1463 words
Summary: Aziraphale and Crowley are spending the first winter in their cottage. The weather is a bit different here than what they are used to from their time in London and that has consequences.
Excerpt
It’s the first winter in their cottage. There are no customers to turn away. No sirens, no honking, no people talking loudly on their mobiles as they walk by. It’s calm and serene and everything Aziraphale dreamt it would be.
Almost.
“Icicles!” Crowley shouts. Shutting the door with an entirely unnecessary bang, he shrugs off his coat and throws it in the general direction of the hook it’s supposed to hang on. It misses, instead landing pitifully on the wooden floors, sodden and soiled from the irate demon’s boots.
And stays there. Said demon isn’t even looking in its direction, but instead throwing their mail onto the sideboard in the hallway - where it stays after Aziraphale eyed it sternly - and fiddling with the strings of his winter boots that somehow have gotten tangled. Again.
Aziraphale sighs, rolls his eyes and draws down a little power to properly hang up the poor and miraculously entirely dry and clean piece of clothing.
In which Rumplestiltskin uses an icicle as a magic wand.

Life has lifed- but I'm still going to get out the chapters I did get done for @fluff-cember. For Day 29- I took on the prompt Childhood Memories - back with my favorite ACOTAR ship.
You can see the fic over on AO3 if you prefer.
‘Wasn’t there something good in your childhood, Azriel? Tell me something good.’
Azriel sat in the trees high above his latest mission, between his shadows and the night sky, he was camouflaged perfectly. He dimmed his siphons and focused on the paper propped against his knee and the quill in his hand. Elain’s last letter asked him for something good. A happy childhood memory. Those were non-existent before he went to train in the Illyrian mountains and even then, there was great pain that came with training.
The breeze blew gently and he swayed with the tree as he filtered back to a part of his life that he preferred to forget. There was happiness there- even if it was in small doses. A chill went down his spine and he let out a shaky breath. He would have to be vulnerable, but he wanted to give this to her. He wanted to give everything she asked to her.
Oleander,
I don’t have many happy childhood memories, but there is one. One that I remember clearly- it was the first summer in the Illyrian mountains.
Devlon sent me away on a scouting mission- to test how my flying had improved and see what my shadows were truly capable of. There were little consequences to it if I failed- I would only be returned to the camp earlier than expected. But if I succeeded, if I succeeded I could have days under the sun. Days in fields that I had only imagined a few months before.
I flew off on that mission- Devlon gave me a day’s head start. He said I would need it. He underestimated me- everyone underestimated me. I found a dale- much like the area we meet, a few more trees, a few less bushes- and I made my home base. That day, for the first time, I slept under the open sky- in the warmth of the summer. The only noises were the birds. No torture. No darkness. It was the first time I knew light, real light.
Each night I went out, I found the other Illyrians that searched for me, infiltrated their camps and got the tokens Devlon left for them to guard. I went back to that dale every day, burrowed into the grasses, posted my shadows as alarms and slept. It was the first time I was free. The first time I could just be. Even knowing I was being hunted, even knowing it was a skill test- the real joy for me was that I was able to be in nature. There was no one to lock me away, even my shadows relaxed during that week.
I flew back into Windhaven the morning of the last day- all of the tokens in hand and I walked into Devlon’s cabin and handed them to him. He swore under his breath that I had succeeded and sent me away. Cassian always excelled at physical combat. Rhys had a knack for cunning. And I, I had found the thing I was good at. I could move between the shadows. I could get what was needed and get out completely unseen. I found my place and it’s a place I’ve been in ever since.
I wish I could give you more. I wish I had pages of stories about how good my childhood was- but this is it. This is the little bit of joy I remember.
