Title: Anniversary Gift

Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

Pairing: John Sheppard/Elizabeth Weir

Summary: Elizabeth should have known their first anniversary would end up like this. She still insists on giving John his gift though.

Elizabeth lightly ran her fingers through John's hair. She'd been doing so for several hours as he lay unconscious. The routine mission of the day had ended in a fight. He had a severe concussion and several broken ribs.

Carson had tried to make her go rest, finally giving in and getting her a chair.

John's eyes fluttered open.

“Hi,” she said softly.

“Hi,” he replied uncertainly.

Carson hurried over and checked him, declaring that he would be kept overnight for observations. John didn't protest, which let Elizabeth know how bad off he was.

“Guess I'm missing dinner,” he said sadly.

“Guess so.”

“Your gift is in my dresser if you want to open it."

“No. I'll wait for you.” She handed him a small wrapped box. “You can open yours though.”

“No, if you're waiting I'll wait.”

“John?” she said, butterflies forming in her stomach. “Open it.”

He gave her an annoyed look but took the box and tugged on the green bow. Carefully, he tore off the tape and removed the lid.

“Elizabeth?” he asked, his eyes widening when he saw the contents. “Is…”

She nodded, not trusting herself to speak.

He pulled out the pregnancy test and looked at it, taking in the plus sign. Then he pulled out the tiny, baby blue hat.

“I didn't believe it, so I had Carson use the scanner, and it showed that it's true. A boy. And I got the fabric from Lieutenant Park, who sews. Then Lieutenant Park undid what I did and remade it properly. Sewing isn't a strong point-" she rushed until John pulled her into a kiss.

He pulled back and placed his hand on her still flat abdomen. “We're having a baby.”

She placed her hand over his and grinned. “We are. Happy anniversary.”

So here is my own personal board that I created for @fairytalebingo's Blossoming Spring Bingo. (I do run the account. I promised that I would share my card for BSB.) Hope you all enjoy and draw some inspiration from the prompts.

how does the bingo work? like do we write fic for each prompt till we get five for bingo or is it to fill as many prompts as possible?

It depends on you. If you picked a 1x5 card you could put all prompts into one fic, if you wanted. I'm not going to judge. If you want to fill as many prompts as you can, go for it.

That is entirely up to the writer. For how they want to do their bingo cards. I usually end up using one or two prompts in one fic. But some like to do one fic per prompt. Again, it really is up to you as the writer and what you want to do.

During FTB 2024, one writer used all nine prompts in one fic. But other writers did nine fics, with one prompt per card. I'm really lax in terms of how you use the prompts.

Bingo Clarification

Hello everyone, there seems to be some confusion about Blossoming Spring Bingo. And that is totally my bad, I've been under quite a bit of stress and have been forgetting things. I am so sorry about that.

Anyway, for Blossoming Spring Bingo, this year it is a build your own bingo. There are forty five prompts available to choose from. You are more than welcome to come up with your own.

You can find the post for Blossoming Spring Bingo here.

Pick the card(s) and prompts that you want. After you've done that, you'll use Canva or another photo editing tool to add your prompts to your card. I personally will probably use Microsoft Paint, because I'm lazy. Feel free to share your boards, I know that I'll be doing the same, when I build mine. Of course the usual rules apply for this event.

Feel free to interpret your prompts how you want.

You can combine multiple prompts into one work.

You can combine this event with others, as long as it allowed with the other event.

Each work should be new, either a chapter in a wip or a new work.

No minimum or maximum word count.

No deadline, the collection will be open (AO3 Collection is the Fairy Tale Bingo Collection)

Create whatever you want. Fanfiction, original fiction/work, moodboards, art, poetry, playlist, fanvids, anything is accepted.

If you don't want to share your work, no worries. These are meant for you to use as inspiration.

Absolutely no Generative AI works or plagiarism. Create your own work.

How do we get the prompts and the cards??

Pick and choose the prompts and cards that you want. Then you can use canva or any other photo editing program to build the cards yourself. They can be found in the pinned comment. Hope this helps.

Yes, for this year's Blossoming Spring Bingo, it's a build your own bingo. Pick the card(s) and prompts you want and make your own card. You can even come up with your own prompts. Life got a bit crazy so I wasn't able to custom make cards this year.

Quick Update

Hello everyone, slowly going through and catching up on reblogs.

Also Blossoming Spring Bingo, will hopefully make a return. I'm kind in the middle of another family emergency, so it might be a pared down version. Think similar to the alts and bonus cards from Mad Monster Bingo, last year, except it will have more prompts.

Fairy Tale Bingo will return for it's third year. Look for more info in May/June.
