How to Participate

❶ Take a photo

It can be a photo you took during travelling, a corner of your city, a slice of daily life — any scene where you think, "If Kaiba and Jounouchi were here, what would they be doing?"

Real, surreal, old-timey, futuristic. All styles are welcome!

❷ Create your "Kaijou Photo"

Artists: Draw Seto Kaiba and Katsuya Jounouchi onto your chosen photo so that it looks like the photo was taken for them (or even taken by them, like a selfie, perhaps!) You may choose to recreate the original scene faithfully or edit the photo with any fantasy elements of your choice.

Writers: Use your photo as inspiration to write a story for Kaijou, no word count limits. You can let that one frame become a specific moment or scene in your story.

❸ Post on social media

Share your work on July 31, 2026, with the following:

· Your original photo (artists can just post the final illustrated piece)

· Your artwork or story

Summary:

Jou and Kaiba decide to hit the rink in the early morning to get some practice in, but Jou is unprepared for Kaiba's clothing choices. As most things do where they're concerned, what should be a simple task quickly evolves into a competition, but what's a little bet between lovers?

Snippets - Friendly Wager

Just a few wip excerpts from my upcoming JouKai fic 'Friendly Wager'! Spice level tbd ;)

"He turned away, setting his playlist to start before placing his phone face down next to his water bottle at the rink’s edge, when Kaiba felt strong hands close firmly around his waist, just under his ribs. 

He stifled the small sound of surprise that threatened to escape his lips, and the initial irritation that had bubbled up at the unexpected contact quickly bled into satisfaction as a warm body pressed flush against Kaiba’s own. He reached up to pluck an earbud from his ear, and turned to catch sight of gorgeous golden locks and a lopsided, pleased grin.

“Heya handsome,” Jou murmured, shifting his hands to splay his fingers across Kaiba’s firm abdomen, absently tracing the slight definition there. As a hockey player, Jou was hardly short, a respectable 6’1” even without his blades. But Kaiba, though slighter in stature, was still above him at 6’4”. 

Kaiba looked down at his captor, and his ice blue eyes melted just so. 

“Good morning to you too. Distracted already I see?"

"Kaiba pretended to entertain the idea for a moment, lulling Jou in a false sense of hope before quickly and fluidly disentangling himself, turning sharply on his blades to face the other man. “I’d say nice try, but we both know I’d be lying. No, here’s what we’re going to do.”

“For the next hour, I am going to work on my spins and step sequence. You are going to practice your shooting and agility.” He pressed closer, bringing their chests flush and ducked his head, lips almost brushing Jou’s ear as he continued. “And if you can hit all four corners in… hm. Fifteen seconds, then we can talk about this extra conditioning you seem so eager for.” 

Jou’s knees visibly wobbled, lightheaded from the lightning strike of arousal that shot through him. He dropped his head against Kaiba’s shoulder with a whine that could only be described as pathetic."

Like let’s be so for real Jou would take one look at Kaiba’s waist in that top and his thighs in those pants and immediately make it his sole mission in life to get as up in Kaiba’s personal space as possible.

Hockey? Never heard of it. Not when his hot boyfriend is standing across the rink looking like sin and salvation all at once

Another thought… the reverse of this is Jou doing these hockey stretches.

They are especially effective when Jou is doing them as part of the pre-game team warmup and he makes eye contract with Seto where he sits in the stands and just. Hits him with this dumb suggestive smirk and Seto is suddenly a weak, weak man.

I’m not even gonna lie a HUGE part of me wants Seto to skate this in the next season after many important and romantic things happen, Pegasus would 100% select/choreograph this arrangement and have a giggle and it’s so FITTING but.

Seto would never 😔😔😔 even with his heart melted by a certain blond’s love, he wouldn’t perform this. But I can dream :///
