Heat and Rivalry
working on chapter two, i'm a little obsessed with omega!ilya.
Legacy bloodlines, selective breeding, that was nothing new and even to Ilya it made sense. While some matches were made for wealth and family ties, modern matches were sometimes made based on ability. That had started most prominently with the introduction of omegas competing in the Olympics. It was like a fucking scouting event for alphas that wanted to have their pups trained in their sport. It was smart, really. Once a career ended due to pregnancy, the dame could train early and train well– it was their talent too, after all. And the beauty of it was it wasn’t immediately career ending… Shane might give him more than a few years on the ice, he’d have a chance to play and win. It wasn’t as good as his prospects of first draft pick– before his father’s rejection. “The offer is that we will take your son into our home and get him a spot on the Montreal Metros– with Ottawa as a backup,” Mrs. Hollander continued explaining; Ilya could feel eyes on him, and glancing up, he found Shane’s dark ones. Had he known the whole time? Or was this plan formed in a rush once it clicked that there was only one good reason Ilya was being pulled away… and allowing that to happen… Did it matter?
When Ilya Rozanov's father pulls him from being top draft pick, Shane Hollander decides to take things into his own hands.
OR
Shane Hollander scores the best omega he's ever seen and the best teammate he's ever had.
