imma be deadass this episode is like 100% gonna make me cry. ESPECIALLY if sophie sees rose die. i am not prepared to watch my trauma live again dawgđđ
it would be a testament though if it made me cry bc it reminded me of my momâs death though bc I donât typically find characters losing their moms (even if they see it happen/her corpse) in horror upsetting but based on how the entire ep seems to be it probably will be one of the few things that does.
it probably will also make me cry bc roses reaction to jackâs disappearance is probably gonna remind me of how my dad was when my mom first died.
It is my belief that the Charles Brook is responsible for the recurring baby doll we keep seeing through out the the Walten Files (TWF). Iâve been working on this theory since 2023, but I didnât officially start gathering and writing my evidence until April of 2025. Below is the collection of my findings and analysis of the recurring dollâs appearances, their relations with Charles, and what it could mean for the series going forward.
Find Jack Walten Update: 1/1/2022
The baby doll first appeared on Find Jack Walten (FJW) on the â/missingâ page during the January 1, 2022 update. It looked to take the form of a reassembled broken porcelain face. At the time it was unclear what the image was specially of, as there werenât any known young humanoid Bunny Smiles Inc. (BSI) characters.
The â/missingâ page has always had strong association with Charles. The pageâs the first image was a torn drawing of his human face overlaid with mouth and teeth scrap drawings- features called attention to in BunnyFarm (TWF 3)- and the pageâs slash address, âmissing,â is a reference to his phrase from the same episode,âMISSING-07 -14-74.â Since the reveal of Charlesâ position as BSIâs Computer Supervisor in CyberFun Tech (TWF 4), a CRT monitor has been added and used to depict all of the pageâs teasers.
The dolls presence was further emphasized in the FJW 2022 update, as it had managed to gain access on Anthony Millerâs website on FJW â/BrightonGhosts.â Using the linked page âcan a Ghost KILL me,â redirects us back to the â/missing pageâ (it is still linked). This intrusion implies one-of-two things about the whoever is behind the doll; they were killed by a ghost (ironic humor) or they are a killer ghost (threat). As informed by Charles in TWF 3, he was killed by the Bon animatronic, who we know is being possessed by âBon,â thanks to TWF 4. It also seems to be in character for him to make a joke (especially at his own expense) to lighten the mood- like he did in TWF 4, when Banny hit the table during the walkaround testing.
Iâd also like to call attention to â/Investigation1â page during this update. This page updated with a picture of an unknown character with their removed eyes sitting just above the sockets on their opposite brow. We can assume itâs Charles because of the wide nose bridge, similar eye shape, the low sitting forehead wrinkle, and the distance between the faceâs eye to eyebrow. I note it here because the eyes in the âInvestigation1â image share very similar qualities to that of the dollâs; flooded black irises, white sclera, with very tiny white reflectors. It could be just a stylist choice, but itâs an odd coincidence for 2 images to be released in the same update, with such similar eyes, who can both be easily linked back to Charles.
Souvenir
The next time we see the baby doll is at the end of "Souvenir," when Bon is hanging it up with the rest of the titular souvenirs in the BSI Storage Facility (K-9 Facility). Â Obviously, this is not the exact same doll from FJW, but the appearances are over a year apart- the design could have been updated or changed, like Brianâs was. However, what spurned me to start writing my observations in April of 2025, is that we see proof that someone is possessing the doll. When the scene starts to fade black the doll starts swinging itself again after it already came to a complete stop at 0:32. The doll only starts moving after Bon had exited the frame, heavily implying that whoever is in the doll is afraid enough of âBonâ that they only try to struggle after Bon has left. The ending events of "Hotline" confirms someone is using the doll as a body.
As it was observed and discussed by the community each of the hanging items had a connection to a character: Bottles= Felix, Tools=Susan, Funeral Bouquet= Rosemary- however, due to the obviousness of the others, the dollâs caused confusion. The main victims of theorizing are; Edd & Molly, Jack, and Charles.
As implicated by the 2022 FJW update, the doll is related to someone who died to or is a killer ghost- meaning it canât be Edd & Molly, who we know died in the car crash and don't seem to have murderous intent. In fact, I believe we have already seen Edd & Mollyâs souvenir in âRelocate Projectâ (TWF 2); when Ashely is exploring the rest of the K9 Facility she comes across Rocket, who is hung up in a similar position to the rest of the souvenirs. This leaves Jack and Charles as the representees.
Jack couldâve been considered a killer ghost, but thanks to TWF 4, we know he isnât responsible for the Bon Burgerâs murders (at least in name). We also donât know how he died; so, we canât rule or rule out that he was killed by a ghost. The only other correlation between Jack and a baby doll, is that Jack has kids; but none of said Walten children have been shown interacting with a baby doll, and both Rosemary and Charles have children; so, Jack just 'having kids' doesn't seem personal enough reason for a doll to be his souvenir.
Charles has a preexisting connection via the 2022 FJW page and is someone we explicitly know to have been killed by âBonâ thanks to TWF 3. We also later learned of a possible related history from Eva, upon confirming Charles' daughter had a baby doll. We gained canonical correlation between Boozoo (the animatronic Charles is possessing) and the doll during "Hotline."
Find Jack Walten Update: 2/12/2024
On December 2, 2024 the â/missingâ page was updated. The computer monitor- which first appeared in the September 2nd update of that year - now displayed a new video.
At the 2:14 mark, thereâs a minor 3 second interruption to the slowed cover of âDown Townâ by Petula Clark, âitâs rai-â. The voice returns at 2:38, continuing what it was previously singing before being cut-off again 5 seconds later, â-aining, itâs pouring, the old man is snoring, he jumped in bed and bumped his head-â. It comes back quicker this time, returning at 2:50 to finish the song, âand couldnât get up in the morning.â At 2:55, it asks âWould you play, âRound-and-Round the Gardenâ with me?â At 3:00, the voice adds that, âI know that by heart. Would you-â but is cut off before they can re-ask their previous question. At 3:10 Rosemary starts to fade in over the image of the restored lamb card, and the same voice sings a rendition of âRound-and-Round the Garden.â
On the surface, it was unclear who exactly the interrupting voice belonged too; no character was established to sound like that- less so why Charles (his FJW page) was being associated with anything happening in the Rosemary (Sha) focused video. However, considering the use of nursery rhymes and the overall younger sounding voice, it is easy to conclude it may belongs baby doll character. The same character which had just inhabited that very same FJW page for more than 2 1/2 years. Looking back, we know this for certain, as these same phrases get used in âHotlineâ by the Boozoo and the doll.
Cyberfun Tech (TWF 4)
After that, the next time we see the baby doll is sitting in front of the Showstoppers on the tapes official title card at 2:08 TWF 4, an odd inclusion for an official tape produced for a franchise with no human baby character. However, that isnât the only odd thing about the scene; the dollâs shadow doesnât align. From my understanding of how light works, the shadow should be lower than the dollâs head due to the light coming from an above light source. Iâll address the knee hugging position at a later date.
Soon after the title card, Charlesâ BSI notebook appears at 2:50. There is heavily implication that Charles is the one showing us these notes, as it his notebook and the background goes completely black- just like how it blackened during TWF 2 during the more ghostly interactions. Logistically, these photos of his notes shouldnât be present on the official tape; notes from a publicly missing employee about experimentative equipment getting broken is not a good look, promotional or otherwise.
The Discord
A possible origin for the recurring baby doll emerged on the Official Walten Files Discord Server soon after TWF 4 was released. Eva said that if Lily Brook, Charles' daughter, had a childhood toy, it would be "A baby." Assuming the recurring doll is the same one that belonged to Lilly, it would explain why heâs been the character with the constant association with the recurring baby doll for the past 2 years.
Find Jack Walten Update: 21/04/2024
Although not a visual appearance the baby doll does make a reemergence. Upon reaching the score 19-82 in the âBeach Funâ game, a body replaces the background image, while a crying baby replaces the audio. Considering that we do not know of any ghost baby, this is likely a recording from the dollâs voice box- as crying is a common soundbite for baby dolls.
I do not believe that this confirms the body to be Charles, I am fairly certain it is Ashely Parkâs corpse. Other than being distressed/scared, Iâm not exactly sure why the doll would be crying over Ashelyâs body. I do have a theory in the works, but this is analysis on the appearances of the baby doll and its relation to Charles, and if we get into it, weâll get off topic. Iâll do an analysis of "Beach Fun" at a later date.
Hotline
Although the doll itself doesnât physically appear until 06:54, that isnât where its influence is first felt- that would be in Boozooâs choice of musical dialogue throughout his interactions with David. Throughout the minisode Boozoo sings 3 nursery rhymes, âItâs Raining, Itâs Pouring,â at 5:45, âRound-and-Round the Garden,â at 6:05 (after asking and re-asking if weâd play it with them and how they âknow that by heartâ at 5:54), and âOranges and Lemonsâ at 6:20. Throughout this the Boozoo animatronic is using a previously unassociated higher-pitched voice with very young dialogue- an odd choice for the older British male character. Especially, since he has yet to be replicate this voice outside of this episode.
As previously mentioned, we have heard most of these lines before. The video added to â/missingâ monitor during the December 2024 update, uses a modulated renditions of âItâs Raining, Itâs Pouring,â the lines asking if weâd play âRound-and-Round the Gardenâ and how they âknow that by heart,â and a rendition of âRound-and-Round the Garden.â
Later when the baby doll reappears at 10:28, after Susan jumps the camera, it repeats the same song weâve previously heard coming from the Boozoo animatronic that episode,
â-man is snoring, he jumped in bed and bumped his head, and couldn't get up in the morning. Will you play Round-and-Round the Garden, with me. I know that by heart.â
The words âSEE YOU SOONâ also appear on screen as its eyes move to look in the opposite direction. This does have a connection back to Charles, as heâs had been associated with the phrase âsee you soonâ prior to âHotlineâ releasement. The August 31st, 2021 FJW update to the â/missingâ page, was blacked out expect for the phrase âIâll see you soon.â
It should be mentioned, that dolls in the 1970s would have been using analog mechanisms to create the âtalkingâ doll feature. Which would explain why it can communicate via analog like the other ghosts are said to do in âLucky You.â
What That Means for the Future
We have confirmation from Martin that the doll will be in "Behind the Smiles" (TWF 6), so keep an eye out for the doll; wherever it is, Charles will be close by. I canât say much else, other than that, as it would be pure speculation.
The way twf fans immediately started making assumptions about that negative Sulinda submission on Twitter and attacking other ships (even another w/w ship btw!) when someone made some obvious rage bait about the current popular one shows that once a genuine critic hits the fandom the space will be too toxic to touch with a 10 ft/ 3.05 m pole.
"No one says this about Jarles!" "I bet this person is a Jelix shipper..." "Rose/Susan is worse tbh :/" Well what if they were just a lurker and didn't ship anyone so you just did some friendly fire? What then?
There's a post i was meaning to make about the update before we got all the new Richie info and everything, and it feels a little overshadowed now by all the new information we have, but I wanna talk about it anyway.
Revisiting the bad calendar I made
There's something really interesting happening with this timeline of events that I'm not really seeing anybody talk about. So, generally, the implied/understood circumstances surrounding Jack's disappearance are that he died on the 11th following some sort of confrontation with Felix, and his body was placed inside of the Bon animatronic by Felix in a panic to hide his corpse. And that this caused an issue with the right arm of Bon's animatronic mech that was noticed by Susan during his performance on the 30th, and she was killed by Bon when attempting to investigate it, right?
But that timeline of events no longer makes sense to me when positioned against this new timeline we have here. If Jack died on the 11th, and his body was put inside of the animatronic Bon shortly afterwards, why would the employee restriction on examining the animatronics only begin almost two weeks later? Why would Felix chance some random low-level employee of Bon's Burgers routinely investigating Bon and discovering a corpse for eleven entire days before instilling some sort of preventative measure?
This, to me, implies one of two things. One: Jack did not die on the 11th, and/or he was not physically placed inside of the animatronic Bon. This, in and of itself, is very interesting! And it legitimizes a lot of questions about Jack's disappearance that previously only had a very arbitrary or circumstantial basis in canon. If not on the 11th, when did Jack die? What was done with his body, if not stashed inside of Bon? If not Jack's body, what caused the issue with Bon's arm that seems to have persisted all the way until Brian examines him in 1982? Those are all very interesting things to be thinking about!
Two: Assuming Jack was killed or otherwise died on the 11th, and was eventually put inside of the animatronic Bon, this new timeline displays a startling amount of premeditation regarding the relocation of Jack's corpse. No longer was this a flighty, panicked, act of sudden terrible circumstance. It was not like Felix burying Edd & Molly in the woods. The relocation of Jack's body to the inside of the Bon animatronic was was not immediate, and was something coordinated, planned, and intentional. Which I think is an absolute bomb of information to be brought to this series' lore thus far.
"Happy 2 year anniversary for TWF 4, we are hard at work with this waltenous team and weve already fully finished 3 scenes since we got started around 10 days ago, were loving how its all shaping up, ofc as we go itll get harder and slower but were working wonderfully as a team"
I wrote this post in Apr 29, 2024 and it's been sitting in my drafts since. I still agree but it's whatever now.
Hot take (or at least a take I havenât seen): Charlesâs last name had no reason to not be mentioned beforehand. Like. All this time some of us thought the reason it was never mentioned is because it had connections to pre-established characters. That that was what was going to make him relevant to the story. And I mean like, what other possible reason was there to have not mentioned it till now?
deleted that one Felix post cause I'm tired of seeing it when I look at this blog. Let it live in someone else's blog idc.
Also I think the fandom has matured since then so it's not needed anymore.
