Don’t bother the other padawans, Qui-gon

Mace Windu might be the only person who actually talks to Jar Jar like an actual person, everyone else treats him like an annoyance at worse or a child at best.

Meanwhile Mace talks to him on an equal if not a little more ignorant tone, lets Jar Jar have agency in situations and trusts him to succeed in his tasks.

This is the only episode where Jar Jar is genuinely competent to the point that I’m now convinced Jar Jar’s only issue with clumsiness is just plain old performance anxiety that Mace helps calm but actually trusting the guy.
