she doesn't notice his expression and even if she did, she wouldn't say anything about it because she's too busy reeling on the idea of people killing an innocent groundhog. for someone that's supposed to protect and care for animals, this is very disturbing.

he's still confused about this situation as a whole — he never saw dixon as someone overly emotional or someone easily touched by emotion, and he never knew that she cared about him enough to feel like she could be there for him when no one else was. it warms his heart in all the ways things like this do in an empathetic, kind angel. but still — this is dixon. and dixon is cam's. cam is dixon's. something still doesn't settle right.
