snow white is the daughter of leopold and eva white, king and queen of a kingdom located outside of the enchanted forest. shortly after snow was born, queen eva unfortunately passed away. snow grew up not knowing the love of a mother. snow was only ten years of age when her father remarried to lilith grimhilde. the child was incredibly excited to be able to finally have the mother relationship that she desired, wanting for the two to be close, even if they were not related by blood. it seemed to be like the perfect match. after lilith had saved snow from a rogue horse ride, snow thought that the motherly figure she searched for was finally in her grasp. king leopold engaged to lilith soon after she saved snow, pulling her from her previous life (and any previous loves). after the sudden death of king leopold, snow’s step-mother came into power. life as snow knew it would no longer be the same. snow was incredibly beautiful growing up. so much so that queen lilith feared that, one day, her beauty would outreign hers. as a result, lilith dressed her as a scullery maid to try and limit her beauty. snow never complained, using her animal friends and love for singing to brighten her days. the people of her kingdom felt bad for the young princess. though the queen was evil and the villagers feared her, never retaliating or rebelling due to her power. each day, she questioned her magic mirror, ❝ magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? ❞ the answer had always been queen lilith until one fateful day. the queen’s jealousy grew more and more into hatred, finally having enough and hiring a huntsman to bring snow’s heart to her in a box. the huntsman took snow out of their castle, planning to pick wildflowers in an open field outside of the enchanted forest. to snow’s horror, she learned that the huntsman was there to kill her. the huntsman took pity on the princess and allowed her to run free, to run as fast as she could away from the kingdom. since then, snow has spent her days in the enchanted forest. she has enlisted the help of her animal friends to help her gather resources and more for her new life. she is still seeking permanent shelter as she grows accustomed to life in the enchanted forest.

canon divergent : snow white is the perfect housekeeper of a step-daughter. after leopold’s death, queen lilith decided that snow, to repay the debt of such a great loss of their kingdom, would become one of her servants. snow would now know the life of a maid - away from her jewels and the rest of her princess life. snow never complained, though. in this verse, snow’s evil step-mother has not conducted the plan of hiring a huntsman to return snow’s heart to her.
the hunger games : leopold and eva snow were very influential people in the capital. the people adored their family, listening to their ideas and opinions wholeheartedly. when snow’s mother died soon after she was born, it rocked her father. though he still held his status, nothing was the same. when snow was ten-years-old, she was riding her horse in a park near the capital when a rogue rebel had spooked her. though the rebel didn’t mean any harm, lilith grimhilde had stepped in and scooped her out of that situation - seemingly “saving” her from what the capital feared. when leopold learned of this, he fell in love with lilith and asked her to marry him. a few years after their union, leopold fell ill and died mysteriously, leaving little snow with her new step-mother. life completely changed for the young girl. her wardrobe changed from silks to rags from district 12, forced to do all of the cleaning and housework around their home. even with dirt embedded in her skin and rags falling off of her body, snow was still deemed fairest of them all to the people of the capital. this angered lilith. lilith decided to take matters into her own hands and hired someone to kill snow. the huntsman took her to the outskirts of the capital to pick wildflowers, a seemingly perfect plan to carve out her heart for her step-mother. instead of killing her, the huntsman pitied her and allowed her to run far away from the capital and out of lilith’s vision. it was days before snow decided to stop her journey in district 12, deciding that this district was as far away from lilith to stay out of her mind. now, snow lives in a house with seven other people. she sings in hidden bars to earn extra money for sustainability.
once upon a time : deriving from canon once upon a time, this verse is set in season one. snow white is known as mary margaret blanchard, an elementary school teacher. she is quite shy outside of the classroom, residing most of her time with her nose stuck in a book. snow does not like regina (the evil queen in her original tale). she does not understand why regina does not like her and often disagrees with her.
