Hiii guys and etceteras and welcome to my blog for my hazbin hotel rewrite named Purgatory Hotel
Purgatory hotel is a rewrite using the comic medium. Charlie was born in Hell, but was raised in Heaven for most of her life. As a result, she is very naive and fairly ignorant about Hell, and believes that anyone can be redeemed with friendship and understanding. And, of course, with her Magnum Opus: The Happy Hotel.
Heaven's court is so offended and outraged by her idea that she is sent to Hell, with no preparation or help... until a kindly sinner takes her under his wing.

I wouldn't say this is a spite project because, regardless of my own opinion on Vivziepop, I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of just being nasty to her. I just watched the show and I really like Keith David and now it's made a new wrinkle in my brain.
I don't consider myself to be an "anti" of the show, though I do have my own complaints with it. Fans of Hazbin and Helluva are fine to interact with, obviously just be nice and I'll be nice back. Any complaints will be tagged with viv crit, show crit, fan crit, or critception if I'm complaining about criticism, as well as a main critical tag if I feel like it. Feel free to block those tags, I understand.
The rewrite will contain triggering or upsetting themes, but I'll put any appropriate warnings at the start of a chapter. I would label it as 15+ personally but just use your own discretion.
I also have a Helluva Boss rewrite that I will post about here, since characters from that may show up in PH, and they're both in the same universe. It is called Imperfect Assassins (emphasis on imp lol)

About me: My name is Harper and I'm 21 years old. I'm from England and primarily use it, he or she pronouns, no particular preference. Aside from this rewrite I like to walk in the woods and get very tired and sore from said walking. I also like cats and creating things, including drawing of course.
Critique: Many characters in the comic come from marginalised groups, which I have researched and obviously intend to write in a respectful and accurate manner. However, I do understand that I'm not exempt from criticism and I may get some things wrong in the way I write characters, so I am always open to people expressing their concerns with me and I'm more than willing to engage and keep these things in mind so I can improve and learn. Just please don't assume bad faith and that I've done something to be nasty on purpose.
Headcanons: I can't imagine many people having headcanons for a different iteration of a pre-existing character, but they're absolutely fine and awesome, especially since stuff has changed over the past (nearly) two years since starting this rewrite. I won't be offended if your headcanons align with stuff that isn't canon anymore, nor do I mind people sharing them.
Boundaries: Asks and messages are fine, but keep in mind I'm not always great at keeping up with correspondence as I'm chronically ill, and have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks. I block freely as I've found DNIs don't work in my experience. I won't put a warning for healed scars or depictions of people with body and/or facial differences (missing eyes heavy scarring etc etc) and I'd appreciate it if people did the same when reblogging. However, I will put a warning if I am discussing how a character got a scar if it could be triggering. The same applies to discussions of physical or mental illness: I will not tag mentions of an illness but I will for in depth discussion of specific symptoms (for example I won't put a warning when I mention that a character has an eating disorder, but I will put a warning if I talk about specific things pertaining to it)

i think i will do something with his eyes to show his heterochromia. the lady at the bottom is velvette with her natural hair. i imagine she wears special fancy wigs that are like fully attached to her scalp/follicles and she switches them out. to clarify, yes vox and valentino are married (i forgot to draw his ring) and yes i want to hit them both with one thousand hammers
sometimes people like my very very old posts or even just posts from a few months ago which is fine. It doesn't annoy me necessarily. There's just stuff I don't really stand by anymore or stuff that I didn't word very well and I wince for a thousand years when I get reminded

ohhhh how I wish wish wishingly wish that toyhouse allowed AUs and redesigns. I don't think my beasts are different enough from canon to be allowed on there. Whatever. Sighs and sadly turns into Alastor's fuck ass bob, undercut included
characters with glasses and why they wear them ok 🩷 yay 🩷
Alastor - myopia (near-sightedness) due to H-EDS. Has to wear glasses all the time, if he doesn't then he gets headaches and, obviously, can't see things properly. Also gets dry eyes sometimes and has to use drops sometimes.
Husk - hyperopia (far-sightedness) but it's mild, so he only needs reading glasses. Gets headaches if he forgets to wear them when he needs them.
Baxter - astigmatism. Has to wear glasses all the time and needs a few seconds to readjust if he rubs his eyes a bit too hard. Gets dry eyes pretty often, has to use drops.
Sir Pentious - astigmatism. Has to wear glasses all the time and needs a few seconds to readjust if he rubs his eyes a bit too hard. Gets dry eyes pretty often, splashes water in them more often than not. I don't know why he does this. Prone to bad head rush due to MCAS, which can make things blurry and spotty for a minute or so sometimes.

Vaga - doesn't wear glasses, but lost her right eye when she was young so she obviously has vision loss. Peripheral and depth perception is impaired and she often wears a patch to prevent debris, although it's mostly for aesthetic purposes and insecurity. They are trying to get into the habit of wearing it less when it's not necessary. Has Charles-Bonnet syndrome which is triggered when she is sick or stressed. Often manifests as seeing vague shapes and colours or shadow people walking or moving very fast
I'm still figuring out Cherri's design so whilst this isn't her main outfit, I wanted to draw her in something inspired by a pre existing one to practice with
extra info about her hmmmm... She's like 20 or so? Angel's best friend. Hashtag party girl. Australian with Welsh heritage, trying to connect with the latter bit. Knows a bit of Cymraeg. She's some sort of caiman or crocodile.
She has ADHD but I think she's undiagnosed. Wears a pacifier at raves due to the effects of stimulants but also because she likes to chew on things in general and they're a good excuse. Due to that she also chews a lot of gum.
Cherrisnake doesn't personally appeal to me so they have a bit of a rivalry going on, before becoming sort-of-friends. She winds Pentious up a lot but doesn't like genuinely upsetting him (once they become friends, I mean. She's more than happy to make him seethe and cry when they're still rivals)
Had a Sex Pistols phase when she was like 15, feels embarrassed about it because they're an industry plant, she only really listened to them due to the anti-monarchy sentiments of God Save The Queen. She likes soft play and idles and fidlar. Enjoys Kate Nash as well. Just any sort of music like that tee hee
She and Angel Dust do all sorts together. Obviously they both party together or go to bars, but they're also content just chilling out, as long as they get to do something fun, like bowling or watching a movie.
