I have this thought of how Cassandra's life was when she got taken back to Corona when Gothel took Rapunzel away since we don't know much about it. Wouldn't people be suspicious about the sudden child that they all of the suddenly had when they came back empty handed. I think people would've just thought that Cassandra was just a kid they found from abandonment or they didn't think that much of it or they maybe didn't even announce they found a child (Also I'm wondering why Cap adopted her too but it's a different topic tbh) I'm just curious about what you might think I've always been intrigued by your content and love reading them

I honestly don't see why anyone would be suspicious if the Captain told the truth. The woman who kidnapped Rapunzel was very clearly old -- well past the age of child-bearing. What makes you think everyone (including the Captain) wouldn't think this woman was some kind of serial kidnapper, and had also kidnapped this toddler? If Cassandra, too, was kidnapped as a baby, of course she'd grow up thinking Gothel was her mother and call her, "Mama."

After all, the Captain lives in the palace, which means Cassandra would, too. He couldn't just keep her a secret. And as loyal as he is to Corona and the Crown, I can't imagine him making up a story, either. But I can absolutely see him assuming that someone who so stealthily kidnapped the princess could also have kidnapped before. Cassandra was a rescue mission, a noble cause, not something to be ashamed of or keep hidden.

that's interesting, I never thought of that, but of course I doubt anyone sane would hold it against the child-abandoned-by-gothel that the Princess was kidnapped by gothel

Although now I'm curious, do you think that if they assumed cass had also been kidnapped by gothel previously, that there was an effort to find her 'bio parents'? Like if they put up posters like "anyone have a child that got kidnapped by an old lady, that would be around 4 years old now?"

The Tangled the Series Masquerade Summer 2026!

Calling all writers and readers! We are excited to announce a new event taking place this Summer within the TTS fandom! We hope that you are all as excited as we are to announce the TTS Masquerade Summer 2026!

What is it?

The TTS Masquerade is inspired by the event hosted by @tua-masked-author, a similar event for The Umbrella Academy fandom. The idea is that authors submit works to an anonymous collection on AO3. Readers then have the opportunity to put on their detective hats and submit guesses. Once guesses are collected, all the works will be revealed. Guesses will be tallied and we will share statistics for each submission and reveal who made the most correct guesses!

We would love encourage more interaction between readers and their favourite tts fanfiction authors. We would love to see you all getting out your magnifying glasses and discussing fanfiction within our community. Overall, the event is about having fun and you call follow along by following the '#tts masquerade 2026' tag!

You do not need to have previously uploaded to AO3 to participate and readers are equally important. Even if you just want to read and don't want to guess, we hope that you enjoy the event too!

How does it work?

First, we take submissions from authors who wish to participate in the event. Authors will add their works to our anonymous collection on AO3 for readers to read. This will be accompanied by filling out a submission form so that we can keep track of all submissions. Submissions will not be accepted without the accompanying submission form. A link to each submission with a brief summary will be posted on our Tumblr blog.

Once the submissions period has closed, the guessing period will begin. A list of all participating authors will be published along with the Guess Form. Readers will have the opportunity to submit guesses via the Guess Form. Authors may also participate as readers to try and submit guesses. All readers must only submit one form.

Once the guessing period has finished, the collection will be revealed, therefore, revealing all the authors. We will organise all the information from the Guess Form. Within a few days, we will share statistics for each work and reveal which reader made the most correct guesses.

When will it be held?

The event will run between the 10th of August to the 30th of August. Below is a brief timeline of events. You can click on the dates to see what time they will be for you.

Submissions period: 10th of August at 00:01 UTC until 16th August at 23:59 UTC.

Guessing period: 17th of August at 00:01 UTC until the 27th of August 23:59 UTC.

The Reveal: 28th of August at 00:01 UTC.

Statistics: 30th of August 00:01 UTC.

i love that Lance respected Angry wanting to still go by Angry instead of Kiera

Really, the only person in the series (that I recall) who calls her Kiera is Catalina.

Also, she never canonically says she prefers to be called Angry. While I did reblog that fanart, I 100% headcanon that she doesn't give a fuck what people call her.

I, for one, use both names in my tags for her, because that way I can find any posts about her, whichever name I choose to use in my search terms. (Also "Angry" is such a generic word. This series has forced me to have tags like "angry," "red," "owl," "pocket" and "otter.")

No, what I love about Lance re: those girls' names is how he pronounces Catalina with a Spanish accent.

But also, and forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure the only person to ever call her kiera on screen is herself "catalina stop, don't hurt her, it's me kiera" in WAOTBBW, I don't think she's ever referred to as kiera ever again unless I'm misremembering

However it does definitely imply that catalina calls her kiera (or at least has in the past) off screen

hello tts fandom please accept this offering of angry and catalina

rant unrelated to the art, I will NEVER understand when people use Kiera to refer to angry- one of the main arcs they go through is that Catalina lingers in the moment and doesn’t like following through with change, she believes that if her and Angry stick to what they know, they’re living fine and can stay that way. Meanwhile, Angry always wishes for something better for them- she’s willing to take risks and takes charge of them both, always compelling them forward. THIS IS LITERALLY REFLECTED IN THEIR NAMES. Catalina learns to advocate for what she wants and her independent ideals as the series progresses, so she chooses to use the original name given to her- NOT RED. Angry moves on and recognizes that they now have a better life, hence why she chooses to not use Kiera. They both love eachother and Angry does her best to make Catalina feel more heard, because she knows that Catalina deserves that just as much as much as her. idk I just think that if the main arc they go through as a dynamic is so clearly portrayed in their own names people should use the right ones yk?? I love mindless rants <3

you make some really good points about the girls characters in your rant, about angry wanting better and moving forward but catalina not liking change (catalina is scarily relatable).

However, I personally see it as catalina has a strong dislike for the name red whereas angry is more neutral and doesn't mind either angry or kiera but maybe has a preference for angry as its the name given to her by the people who care about her. I kinda flip back and forth between angry/ kiera (when writing fanfic in my notebook I used to only use the first letters of characters names and 'k' was easier to use/less confusing than 'a')

On years like this year, when Rapunzel shares her birthday with Father's Day, the friend group has a huger-than-usual celebration. Rapunzel and Lance each bake for the other one, and decorate a lantern for the other one for later in the evening. The party decorations are in both their favorite colors.

Gothel never made a big to do out of Rapunzel's birthday, so even though she personally has, and her parents obviously do, she also doesn't mind sharing it with Lance. Lance doesn't even know (or particularly care) when his birthday is, so he's over-the-moon touched that Rapunzel acknowledges him as a father figure, even if it's not to her.

They both love sharing their special day with the other one.

I think it depends...

I'm assuming by siblings that would mean children of gothel, which arguably could make them hundreds or even thousands of years old. And it depends on how... indoctrinated? by gothel they are, like if they're like "mother was the best, and so was her master zhan tiri, and you are the wicked sun drop who took them away from me and now I want revenge" I could see them not getting along great with rapunzel

but if it's more "mother gothel was not good and really messed me up, leaving me with a lot of trauma to work through, and in that way I can relate to you and bond with you through this and we help each other through our journeys of healing, etc" then I could see them being friends. Could also see her being friends with any who are like "gothel was a narcissistic b*tch, fuck her!"

I have come to the realization that Lance is the only truly good parent in Tangled.

#i don't know if this is anything really#i just think the characters and the writers should both appreciate lance more#and out of all the tangled parents he's the only one who loves his kids unconditionally AND MAKES THAT KNOWN TO THEM which is arguably the#most important part#and who will never ever put an agenda or a corrupt monarch ahead of his kids' wellbeing#not to mention he didn't have parents to teach him how to be a good parent. he is one because he knows kids shouldn't have to go through#life without love and support and because he is a kind person despite everything he's been through#and also he will protect his kids from danger while still treating them like humans with agency. a balance that no other tangled parent was#ever fully able to find (or willing. at least in most cases)#and i just think he deserves recognition for that <prev tags

Lance is the best, he deserves more appreciation fr, I wish we got more of him and the girls in the show
