oh to be a pretentious jerk, with your uncomfortable companion, bent over a crime scene, making wild claims and refusing to elaborate while belittling the on scene detectives., , and then to have some random guy come in and do those exact same things but with Panache and Nuance and a Flair for the Dramatiqué and also everyone loves him and also he’s faking being psychic which is one of the most infuriating things you’ve ever encountered in your entire comically British life

UNDERRATED shawn and gus moment is at the end of 4x07 high top fade out is when lassiter says to shawn "you are not a cop and you never will be" and shawn clearly has some slightly conflicted feelings about the comment showing on his face, gus says "thank god for that" and fistbumps him

This scene was literally so good!!!!!!!!

1. Because Shawn and Gus were so great here. Gus immediately recognizing that Shawn is unhappy and he cheers him up in an instant!!!!

2. the whole show we keep seeing Shawn seem sort of proud that he isn’t a cop, like in the pilot when he’s hooking up with the girl and he says like “oh no no no, definitely not a cop” or whatever

but then now when Lassie says it like it’s a bad thing and Jules agrees, Shawn seems stricken, like he’s hurt by it

which ofc brings us back to point 1. which is that Gus is the best friend on the planet

Shawn getting serious/going absolutely psycho when his loved ones were endangered was such a great thing they did. Like in Gus Walks Into a Bank, he was getting angry at being unable to take action to save Gus. THAT’s what i’m talking about !!! that episode being even more serious would’ve made it better tbh but it was great as it was.

or like in Santabarbaratown 2, which is truly I think probably my favorite or at least one of my favorite episodes. Shawn breaking that much glass and also pulling a gun was excellent. Perfection.

Idk i just think silly characters getting serious and angry abruptly when something happens is such a great trope

i wish Psych made Shawn suffer more. sorry but i like it when my favorite characters are subject to massive amounts of whump :(

like i really enjoy 4x09 (Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark) and 7x01 (Santabarbaratown 2) in particular bc they’ve got the physical and emotional pain. The Yin/Yang saga is excellent ofc.

that being said. this is why fan fiction exists 😄

as an important side note to my psych obsession, i am a (nb) lesbian. i like women and only women. i have no attraction to men.

however. Shawn Spencer of the hit TV show Psych is somehow easily the single hottest tv character i’ve ever seen. a close second would be Juliet O’Hara which i think goes without saying. but like. damn

i was so close to finishing wc/dc week on time. fhen i watched a brief clip compilation from Psych (2006-2014) and now its been a little under a month of absolute mind-consuming obsession. can’t stop. used to love this show and now love it even more.

have written 33 unpublished fics in less than 30 days. gotten lots of less sleep. genuinely and honestly can’t stop thinking about it.

just really love Psych, man. Shawn is the most bisexual character ever. he and Gus are my favorite pair of besties. every one of the main ships is cute if you think about it enough. little to no fandom discourse from what i’ve seen.

so so good. very worth losing sleep for.
