Thinking about how Manepear called Wemmbu a lost cause but Wemmbu was the one that never lost sight of his goals in the first place

Wemmbu's goal has always been to get stronger so he could protect himself and Egg and whatever friends might be with him. That's always been his long term goal, starting with the exploits. He actively says he only wants them so that Spoke won't destroy the server cause he likes playing on it, then there's his empire where he actively draws aggro and tells people to leave for their own safety if they don't want to fight. I think the only reason he doesn't care as much for Mane is cause he still kinda sees him as an enemy with Zam and is worried about being betrayed the same way. But then the mafia happens and they kidnap Egg, and there's a need to rescue his friend which leads to the training arc, during which we get Egg back only for mane to turn around and give Flame Egg and promise Flame the mace, both of which are the most important things to Wemmbu because they are his strength and friendship.

Meanwhile ManePear's goals have been- unclear? We see him buddy buddy with Flame and clearly him allying with Wemmbu during the war fractured blindfold brothers relationship. You'd think that maybe his motives were for money or power, but he didn't stay with Zam empire because it was too strict. So is his motivation is fun right? Then why does he get so upset at Wemmbu bringing Egg? Why is he so against his pupil being distracted? I think ManePear lost sight of his own motivation and it caused FlameFrags to start hating him, which in turn led to emotional distress for ManePear, lashing out and calling Wemmbu, who had what he realized he wanted, something he himself saw in the mirror.

ManePear the lost cause, and the pupil he couldn't bear to keep teaching.

(The laust cause bit always felt a little forced from ManePear's end because he was the one that was putting Wemmbu into a position of choosing mace or friend in the first place till i was kind of thinking about it and it clicked, i really hope we see ManePear again especially in Flame's pov cause i want to know if my theory has weight to it, or maybe it's completely wrong I'm just excited to find out)

Hey all, last night was a rollercoaster of EPIC proportions and I'm just organizing my thoughts, here we go.

Essentially what happened to the ROS discord was a long time coming, there were years of suppressed drama before this, and the last incident (ha) that went down was fairly minor in comparison. The Toons have had a long history of extremely poor communication, "jokes" at the expense of fans, multiple instances of fan exploitation (recruiting fans as assistants and underpaying them, recruiting minors as mods despite NSFW channels), undisclosed AI use, and broken promises (to the tune of thousands of dollars in donations and 2 years of radio silence). Yesterday, a server member advocated for the original version of ROS to be archived somewhere for fans to read, a sentiment that many members on the server as well as mods shared. Toon's response to this eventually spiraled into a meltdown, bans for all involved in the conversation (mods included), and the mass deletion of all content on the server (another habit of theirs, deleting criticism and denying readily available information). Many people chose to leave the server in solidarity as this event unfolded.

It's my opinion that it didn't have to end like this. Their own website says that the original may return in some form someday, but as many of us have learned, "someday" almost always means "never". Again, I love you guys.

Okay so y'all that follow me know i headcanon Wemmbu and Parrot as brothers right?

And maybe I'm looking too far into it but at the end of Parrots lost tomb episode i swear the screen kept flashing with purple. I know Par was talking about all the people he'd wronged but i like to think he was talking specifically about Wemmbu, and it seemed like he was going to go see Wemmbu to talk or apologise or something.

And now Wemmbu is getting executed.

And Parrot was watching when Lettuce made the announcement.

There is no way Parrot doesn't blame himself for this right? He was the one that revealed Wemmbu's identity and got him caught- or is he going to let the tale that Lettuce spun convince him otherwise?

Like yeah they argued and fought and he helped Flame find Wemmbu but Flame was never going to kill him. Lettuce actually will.

Istg if we get another repeat of Dean where Parrot doesn't get a chance to apologize and make things right imma crash out.

crazy headcanon idea but what if like Jayden still kept tabs on Wemmbu after the great sea

I mean we've seen he's really good at convincing people to do his bidding if even for a short time so i think it's plausible they like send letters through egg or something.

I one hundred percent believe with the recent Flame and Wemmbu episodes, as well as prior instances like Salvationism (and even tentatively boosfer) that wemmbu considers anyone willing to fight alongside him a friend. It's clearly a habit he tried to break but it sticks with him, and i honestly really like the odea of him and Jayden staying friends after Jayden went through all the effort to help Wemmbu out and get those invis potions and fight alongside him even when it would have benefited Jayden to look and find out.

Maybe Jayden can be the exception to Wemmbu's friends and comrades either betraying him or dying (besides Egg ofc but he doesn't count in this discussion since he was around before all the betrayal)

I think that the wemmbu lakerek fight is meant to criticize wemmbu’s overreliance/dependence on the mace.

Although he’s sometimes successful in managing to pop lake’s totem with it using the tactics that he knows often get him the upper hand with others, he doesn’t really come out of the fight on top because lake’s usage of more classic/well-honed PvP tactics and traps is able to best wemmbu’s mace tactics and catch him off guard frequently enough that he ends up on the losing side. The mace might be good, but it’s not nearly as good as a PvP skill/strategy that’s had years upon years to be developed.

Also, wemmbu killing both lake and Wu with the mace when it would have been significantly more convenient and saved more resources to have slain them with his sword in just a few hits is just the cherry on top to demonstrate that wemmbu depends way too much on the mace to come out on top in PvP battles, it’s sort of like he just instinctively reaches for it in his hot bar when he knows he’s about to win and just needs that last push to defeat his opponent quickly, even when in this case the opponent basically just surrendered willingly.

I think theres something interesting to note about wemmbu's pov in unstable.

He's not someone who does lore or takes lore seriously. See season 1, a lot of it was simply fighting, trying to get better, get revenge, but not really telling a story about the world itself. His episodes are pvp focused and he often avoids lore.

Eggchan on the other hand, actively seeks out lore. He has a notebook with all the information, he readily explores locations. He's really the one who points wemmbu in the direction of lore. I think the most obvious example is the jadan episode where egg specifically seeks out information about the underground city.

And i think it's a perfect balance and a perfect example of show, not tell. Wemmbu's character will never acknowledge the deeper issues/feelings behind his place in the server, that's just who he is. ntentionally or subconsciously, he will avoid thinking too deeply about things. He will never acknowledge why the maces are so important to him. How his stint with zam affects him to this day. He'll ignore the impact rejoice made on his playstyle, despite keeping the sunflower in his enderchest. Always do first, think later.

And when you dont stop to think about it, it's very superficial, surface level. Like there's no deeper meaning to it. And i think that's the trap a lot of viewers fall into, that wemmbu is just a pvp focused, no lore, not very interesting, repetitive pov.

What people miss is that egg is more than a comedic relief. He's the thinker, the one who holds wemmbu back. He stops to consider various options and is averse to jumping into danger. Egg shows wemmbu's story through the lore, dragging his friend through the world, looking for meaning. Inadvertently showing wemmbu that theres no hiding from it, no matter what. Hes the compass that will eventually point wemmbu in the right direction.

The theme of repetition, of past becoming present, cant be ignored. Egg's thirst for lore will push wemmbu to finally acknowledge his feelings, the cycle hes stuck in, and that something needs to change.
