Not gonna be able to play SxSG if it's on the Playstation, but oh my gosh, I was getting so many Spiderverse/Dr.Strange vibes from this clip. Can't wait to get on youtube and watch all the cutscenes like when I was 12 :D

I’m such a sucker for his outfit design. Yeah man, wear white as a kid but then switch to wearing a black coat as you step into a villainous role. I’m sure you still wearing white underneath it is irrelevant. The consistent black bands around your wrists (that are notably absent now) surely mean and represent nothing.

One compelling thing about the Xehanort umbrella thing I haven’t seen anyone discuss is that the umbrella is clear. Since it’s transparent, it can let the light through, but stops the rain/ water. Water has always had a weird association in the series with darkness and sleep.

I wonder if the umbrella then is meant to represent that Xehanort is now here trying to protect Sora and possibly always has. The fact that the umbrella appears broken when Xehanort is trying to shield Sora from the rain may also be an indication that while Xehanort was well meaning, his attempts to “help” were always layered with destruction and ultimately were imperfect and unsuccessful.

riku jumped to all the wrong conclusions about sora replacing him and he ran off in a pout instead of clarifying that and immediately bought into the lie that sora didn’t care about him bc succumbing to misery and self pity is easy and comforting in its own way and i gotta say, he was so so so real for that tee bee aech
