Sort of my personal Yugioh archive. I live for yugi and yami content. I love platonic and queerplatonic takes on their relationship, but I'll take romantic too. I will post other yugioh stuff as well.

Yugi would rather die than admit he has a problem but this is not quite true for Atem. Atem will totally admit internally to himself that he has a problem. however he will then stare broodily out the window and remember that he is not a real person with wants or needs or desires and therefore the problem insofar as it only affects him is not worth trying to solve or god forbid burdening any of his friends and loved ones with the knowledge thereof. so there is a problem but there might as well not be because problems that are happening to Atem do not matter. this is as opposed to Yugi who doesn't see a problem what problem there's no problem hey let's talk about something else

what I like about Yugi is that he is definitely in that "kind non-violent all-loving friendships-everyone" protagonist archetype but most of the time we expect those sorts of characters to wear their hearts on their sleeves or solve their problems via communication and understanding, whereas one of Yugi Muto's defining character traits is that he'd rather die than admit he has a problem. you can pour soup directly in his lap and he'll be like "oh that's okay ^_^" while internally burning with such an unquenchable incandescent rage at you that 30 minutes later his evil shadow self confronts you in a back alley and forces you to play something called Knife Pogs (a game he just made up that's like Pogs but the pogs are knives so every time you hit the stack a bunch of knives fly out and stab you in the kneecaps). so that's fun

What would I tell my younger self?

Would I tell him how hard life will be? How much he'll lose?

How hard he'll grieve? For the loss of a friend he hasn't met yet? How guilty he'll feel for mourning said loss?

Would I tell him how to fix every mistake I made along the way? How to hold onto what we once treasured?

How about all the joys he's yet to experience. All the advancements we make in life. All the friends we make, all the fights we win.

Would i tell him I'm proud of him? How much of that would be a lie?

Or would I smile, and say nothing. Because despite everything, I wouldn't change a thing about him. Would I smile, and let the petals of his innocence wither on their own? One by one.

Seto continues to lose. Joey will dropkick shit dads no questions asked. Hopefully the negative dark mist effect im playing with looks cool and not make it difficult to read. Updates on this will probably slow down as i work on commissions.

The manga timestamps Honda leaving his castle room at midnight and then cuts to Atem monologue-ing and when it returns to Honda the next chapter it timestamps him again but at 2am. This implies Honda spent two entire straight hours wandering around Pegasus's house in the dark accomplishing nothing before he managed to find the basement where they were keeping Mokuba.
