Whenever in any class, we learn about an invention that fulfills some practical purpose that was derived from its use in a war like the World Wars, there is always someone that says “oh look! Something good came from the war.” And it is just not true? Give science enough funding and someone would have come up with it without all the murders. It just shows that research doesn’t get attention and money from the government unless it can be used to kill people.

Like do people really think all the scientists who calculated the energy output from nuclear fission thought “omg we can blow people up” instead of “this might actually be a viable source of energy.” It’s just the former was more fruitful for war.

I'm gonna be honest, after doing 6 hours of study the day before yesterday, I ended up doing absolutely 0 studying yesterday. Was it a meaningful break? No, I spent the whole day feeling guilty.

I managed to change that around today and actually I got some studying down. Hopefully I can maintain this study momentum.
