I’ll be the first to laugh at another Skyrim remake/remaster/port whatever, but I think one thing a lotta ppl forget when we shit on old games getting remade is that there is rlly a pretty good possibility that it might just be the first time someone is experiencing something.

I can’t rlly justify remakes of games that were released like one whole console generation ago esp with how often a new one comes out these days, but 10-15 years is quite a long time, ppl could have had kids in that time, a whole new generation could’ve gotten into gaming, not everyone’s lucky enough to still have a perfectly working N64 or DS or PS2 lying around, or have the ways or means to buy one in good condition, and yeah, yeah emulation exists, but not every kid has the luxury of getting to do fuckshit whatever on a PC or device their parents paid for. Seeing young, fresh faces get to experience my favorite games I played as a kid through a fresh set of eyes brings me joy, esp since I get to enjoy it again too. Having a kid of my own, I love watching her get interested in the stuff I was interested in, and though, of course, it’s always gonna be better to get something new and different, I don’t think there’s any harm in taking a nostalgia trip every once and a while.

The problem with spending the entirety of your formative years in school is that when you have a day off you're incapable of fully enjoying it.

There's so many things you want to do, but you don't feel like you deserve to do them until late in the evening. So you just sit there the entire day waiting for evening so that you can do the stuff you want to do without feeling guilty.
