I find this shot from Supergirl insanely hot in ways I can’t articulate.
(pxwerriderandrxbbit) Alex, after having heard good things about a safe house for heroes, decided to check it out to see if anything would jog her memory further. For now, she might have gotten lost. (For Jason, maybe? Original Red and original Power Rider?)
The forests around Amber Beach were not for the faint of heart. Especially with Sampson Caves. However, one brave camper had his tent set up and was frying some fish he’d caught from the nearby stream.
After minor skirmishes with members of the Antiverse, she had found herself running for cover into the forest. Where was this blasted safehouse that she kept hearing about? It occurred to her then that she might have forgotten to ask for directions.
Being in the 2 hour window of time where you couldn’t transform again sucked..even if she didn’t know how that worked specifically. All Alex knew at that point is that it hurt, mainly in her stomach but also in her muscles.
Wandering thoughts would cost her however, as she tripped over a rock and fell into the nearby stream.
Nitoh heard the splash and went to investigate. “Hey! Hey are you okay?” He asked in English.
“I’m...fine!” She snapped, more annoyed at herself than him. Her tone softened a bit as she swam towards shore. “But I need some help.”

An interesting encounter (Open RP)
“Greetings, Devra and Friend.” The voice comes from a robot with one red eye as the two women enter the training grounds.
“Hey, Omnitron. This is Alex, a new friend. She’s got some powers and I’d like to see what they are. Activate the training room with Level 1 holographic display.” Devra tels it.
“Confirmed. Hologram Training Room 1 is open. Welcome to Paradigm Headquarters, Alex.”
“Holographic display? Neat sounding..” She murmured, giving Omnitron a small wave.
“Thank you. Lead the way please, Devra.”
At this point the amnesiac has definitely suspended her disbelief, because otherwise her head might explode from all the new information..
There’s already someone in the training room, but as Devra and Alex enters, she puts her arrow back in the quiver.
“Hello, Devra. New friend?” There’s a faint smile. “I don’t see anything that a little therapy with the Visionary won’t fix.”
“Come on Kim, no peeking at new people’s flaws.” Devra chides her friend. “Sorry, she can’t help it. That power never turns off.” Devra waves her hand and the hologram projector creates a trio of floating targets. “All right ,Alex. Show me your power.”
Alex paused for a moment as she’s read rather well by this new acquaintance. Awkward, maybe? She shrugs it off mentally at Devra’s explanation, and spreads her arms to the side, summoning the Prime Arcle from within.
“I haven’t really thought of a good phrase to say at this part..” she mused aloud, closing her eyes as she puts her hands over the belt, stretching one arm out before bringing it back over the other arm by her waist.
The noise that the ancient artifact began to make would only grow for a split second as she went through the metamorphosing process, becoming an armored warrior in red armor and black trim.
Normally, this form works against people that are on the ground, so the floating targets would have a weakness to exploit.
pxwerriderandrxbbit:
Alex noted that detail and resolved to ask about it later. Right now, she breathed deeply and delved into what she could discover mentally. “All of my senses are heightened, I feel powerful, but there’s also flashes of a vision. I don’t think its from my memory though. Maybe the last user of this belt? It was in an archaeological site, but there’s barely any lighting.”
“Well that’s out of my realm of knowledge. Sounds archaic. So maybe you dug this power from the ground itself. Probably ancient in some way. Possibly from another planet other than your own.” She sighed. “This could take forever if that’s the case. Although I do remember reading various species claim to fame being an otherworldly power being granted to them. Usually ends in war and then genocide but let’s hope that isn’t the case here. But you already have people after you so who knows. We should prepare for the worst.”
“That would make sense. Hearing Earth used feels foreign to me, for some reason. I’m good with getting ready for the worst but I also want to see if there’s some way to jog my memory. Any way to maybe test my blood to see if it matches any species?”
“I don’t have the equipment but I know exactly where we can get that process done in a hurry. Mind coming with me?” Inga held out her hand.
Her transformation faded away, and the human hand grasped Inga’s firmly for a moment. “You got it.” A smile graced her features before she spread her senses outward, following the other while making sure they weren’t being followed.
“I have a friend on SPD’s CSI team. They can get your blood and run it through the databank in no time.” She made off with her new friendly acquaintance to SPD headquarters. It still hadn’t become the place it was known to be in the future but they had gained renown and respect across many planets. After a quick exchange with the attendants at the front desk Inga brought Alex to a lab down several corridors.
“Okay, here we are. We can turn back if you want to right now.”
Before she could answer, her head hurt for a moment, recalling a flashback of an encounter with the known leader of the villains, having been finish-kicked right out of her white Growth Form..and a name.
“No, I’m good..let’s do this. Also, the name of the person I know who’s been after me is Darkina.”
Inga had a worried look on her face as she noticed Alex pause. “You sure. I’m not going to force you to do something you don’t feel comfortable with. Even if you suggested it.” She nodded at Alex’s answer. “Darkina? That sounds about right. I don’t know who that is but the name is fitting.”
“I don’t know the full story on her either.” Alex shrugged. “That’s partially why I’m wanting to do this. Because it sucks not knowing a lot about yourself. Thank you for being so supportive..” She murmured, giving the other a brief hug before nodding. “I’m ready.”
An interesting encounter (Open RP)
“Well, I just had a runin with an interesting superhuman.” Devra can’t help but grin as she tells the story. “He was trying so hard to be a villain, but he was so bad at it. His powers work like mine, where he was able to create machines with his mind. But his machines seem to operate on a weird internal logic. That logic seems to be ‘If there’s no reason for this machine to work, it does.’“
She stifles a laugh as she recalls some of the machines he made. “The best part though was that he genuinely seemed to think the codename ‘Slapdash’ was intimidating.”
“That sounds like some pretty bad logic..” The newcomer would intone, a surprised look on her face by how absurd the tale seemed. All she had wanted to do was go for a walk, but from the sound of it, there wasn’t a normal anymore. Not that she would know what that was, given the heavy number of gaps in her memory.
“So..how did the encounter go? Did you take him down?”
“It wasn’t so much of a takedown. Imagine being a kid just learning to play the Cello challenging the first cello in the Phiharmonic to an improvised musical battle. That’s what it was like for him going up against me. I sent him home to rethink his life.”
“Well done, then.” She gave, a small smile on her face. This other person seemed smarter than her by quite a bit..and she had no problem with that. “I’m Alex by the way.” The customary hand was offered.
“Devra. Devra Caspit.” She shakes the hand happily. “So, what brings you to the city of Megalopolis, Alex?”
“I’m kind of a wanderer..got some powers but got some amnesia that goes with those powers. Also been fighting monsters too..and trying to make people smile. The weird jumble that is my life so far.” She gave, with a thumbs up, to her new friend.
“Well, I can help set you up with someone who might be able to get you past that amnesia, if you’re all right with a telepath poking around in your head. And if you’ve got skills in fighting monsters, my team would love to meet you.” Devra grins.
“Can’t say I’ve had much experience with telepaths..this would be a good one who doesn’t mess up my head further, right?” Alex smiled back at her with wry humor. “A team? I guess new friends wouldn’t be a bad idea.”
“Yeah, she’s one of the best when it comes to helping people in need. Here’s her card.” Devra hands over a business card for a Vanessa Long. “She’s out in Arkham, Massachusetts, but she can come by whenever she’s needed. Now, let me take you to meet my team.”
“Thank you, sounds good.” Though she had no idea where this Arkham or Massachusetts was, it sounded like the other did. Pocketing the card, Alex followed the other to their destination.
Devra leads Alex to her building, down a block from the cafe. The name on the facade is REVO-Corp. “Around here we work on using technology to improve people’s lives. We make things like prosthetics for people who need them, full mobility suits for people who’ve never been able to walk and energy barriers to protect spaceships and satellites from space debris.”
As they enter, Devra stops by the desk to get a visitor’s pass for Alex. “This will let you into our main labs, and the training grounds for my team. Which one do you want to see first?”
“I’ll see the training grounds first..” Alex smiled, having taken in all the details that the other had told her. This was a lot bigger than anything she was familiar with..but it was alright, she could handle it.

“Not the kind you’re giving me now, no. They were more concerned about my wellbeing.” Alex was being a little playful in her reply, but wasn’t straying from the professional path. The other really hadnt said a whole lot, but..
“…Wait, she did say something under her breath about me being 3 times as annoying as the other heroes she has fought..but I didn’t understand what she meant.”
“Figured as much. I wouldn’t even be here if they followed through. But it’s good that your safe and that’s what matters most.” Inga made a mental note to go digging into some files once clearance was given when she get’s back to base.
“That doesn’t help much. Most of the heroes here are annoying in some way. I’d say it’s earth’s charm.” She said sarcastically with her friends in mind. “Okay well what is it that you can do? Mind showing me something?” Inga looked Alex up and down with a smirk on her face.
“I can’t show off a whole lot, but here you go.” She chuckled, although hearing Earth used in that way made sense. Like..it wasn’t home. But that’s not enough to go on in order to mention it.
Extending her hands out, she held them over her waist, summoning a silver looking belt with multicolored buttons. She extends one hand out, before bringing it to rest on top of her other hand, formed into a fist.
The belt activates at this point, the ambient sound growing louder as the suit of armor manifests itself over her body. It was rather gender neutral by design, given the practical mind of the ancients. Still, there were a couple of hints that the user was in fact female. “I think I’m supposed to be a Power Rider. Though a proper name hasn’t come to me yet. There’s a hammer I can wield in this form if I need to.”
“Power Rider, eh?” It was eerily close to what she knew as Kamen Rider. But it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that they could be called something else among different planets. “Nice. I prefer guns but hammers are cool too. Anything come to mind in this form? I ask again because usually transforming opens up the mind. At least in some way or another. That’s what it feels like when I… Well… That’s neither here nor there. Tell me how you feel while in this form and not during battle?
Alex noted that detail and resolved to ask about it later. Right now, she breathed deeply and delved into what she could discover mentally. “All of my senses are heightened, I feel powerful, but there’s also flashes of a vision. I don’t think its from my memory though. Maybe the last user of this belt? It was in an archaeological site, but there’s barely any lighting.”
pxwerriderandrxbbit:
Alex laughed nervously at the mention of a genocidal maniac, but nodded. “Well ok..i guess.” She gave Inga a second look and smiled slightly. “I could use some good company after all. One thing I do know is that I’m probably not from this planet..it doesnt feel like home.”
“We’ll see. There are hundreds of human-like aliens species out there so that is possible.” Inga loosened up a bit and gave a small smile in return. “This could be fun, trying to jog your memory.” Normally she wasn’t so relaxed about these type of situations but she remembered Her first run in with the Kamen Rider Club and how things weren’t as they seemed then.
“That fact alone sounds incredible.” Alex replied, before eyeing her slightly and then shrugging. “Whatever will help, I’m ok with it.” What she didn’t know was that some of these methods were going to be potentially embarrassing.
“Thank you for complying. This could have gone a completely different route. Most likely would have been a much shorter one but less fun and more strenuous. Can’t say this won’t be strenuous for you though. Sometimes memory loss comes with brain damage of some kind and this could cause you pain.” Inga warned her. Although Alex didn’t have much of a choice in the matter to Inga.
“I am grateful for your concern for my wellbeing.” Alex replied with a small smile. “I’m not that worried about pain…my first battle after the crash ended with me laying on the ground wondering what happened but I managed to escape. There’s so much unknown to me but..” She trailed off before giving her a thumbs up. “I can’t be afraid.”
“I’m just glad you’re being so cooperative. Tell me more about this battle you had after crashing. That may lead us somewhere.” Inga tried to keep things professional between the two of them. She could feel herself relaxing a little too much and she needed to find a balance.
“Some heroes rescued me, I think they were with SPD. But other villains attacked right after and that was when my power awakened. This leader figure of the enemy…she was strong. I took a finishing kick straight to the chest from her yet managed to survive..though i was hurt.”
“And SPD didn’t take you in for any type of questioning?” She sighed. Inga figured that was the case. SPD really specialized in helping people above all else. Sometimes forgetting the ‘all else’ part of the job. “Did this leader say anything specific? Any clue to your past?”
"Not the kind you're giving me now, no. They were more concerned about my wellbeing." Alex was being a little playful in her reply, but wasn't straying from the professional path. The other really hadnt said a whole lot, but..
