A Declaration of Chaos

This is just my way of making it in this crazy, crazy world. I've been trying to find my niche. Between all my arts and crafts, and my growing life on the internet, I haven't really nailed anything down yet. I dabble in a lot of different things. I have a weird sense of humor and awkward style. And I've never been one to just go with the flow. I like to choose my own path and form my own opinions, many of which may be offensive to some. It's a vital part of being an individual.

Colgate Optic White VOX BOX Review compliments of Influenster

I'm loving my Optic White Gel pen I got in my Colgate VoxBox compliments of Influenster. I was seriously expecting a gritty gel that I'd have to rinse, and a disgusting taste.

I've had experience with the Optic White products before.I received a Colgate Optic White VoxBOX last year through influenster. My brand is Synsidyne and Crest so I was happy to try the products out. I was ok with the toothpaste. It was a bit too gritty for my taste, but it does a really good job of whitening. What I didn't like about the Set was the mouth wash. IT was HORRIBLE it tasted of peroxide, foamed in my mouth, and left a horrible after taste... I was turned off by the whole thing and ended up sticking with my brand. But that was last years box.

I was amazed to get accepted to this year's box again. And I'm happy that they picked me. I have completely switched, well except for my mouthwash. I think they may have changed the formula of the paste. It's no longer as gritty as I remember it.  I'll most likely replace my Crest with it to use with my Synsidyne. Honestly though the highlight of the box was their toothbrush/ gel pen combo. I LOVE  this thing. The bristles are soft and get good coverage. the handle is flexible and strong. I was originally worried the gel pen would slip out the end, but it stays firmly in position. I'm still a bit worried about bacteria buildup in it though if water was to get trapped in it... but I thoroughly clean and dry mine.

This thing is AMAZING! Not only are my teeth noticeably whiter after three days, but you just apply and go. It's really minty, no bad after taste AT ALL, no rinsing. Just apply and GO! I'm a really busy person so that's the big thing that gets me.... My teeth have always been a bit yellowy because of sodas and coffee

I'm hooked.

Apprenticeship: Night 1

So an amazing opportunity was brought before me that I was able to accept. As of this evening I have taken a position apprenticing to be a piercer. I will be learning under Fyre, the best piercer I have personally met, who just so happens to be a very good friend of mine. I had been looking for a way to broaden my horizons, as my side computer tech work was getting stale. I was considering going back to school and picking up journalism classes when I saw the posting for an apprentice. I hoped on it immediately. I personally think I would be a great fit. In thick skinned, very personable, highly technical, and a hard worker. That and I just kick ass! (^_-) Tonight was my first night. I start off doing basic shop work and errands, learning tricks and what needs to get done. Needless to say I only needed to be shown how to enter paperwork once into the computer, as I pick up on thing pretty easily and have watched Fyre do it about a dozen times before. I learned that it's almost impossible to hit an artery doing a tongue piercing, as your artery in your tongue is so far in the back it would be impractical to pierce there. And it's nearly impossible to hit a vein unless your blind... Ummm big blue squiggly lines yo... Also, standard tongue piercings are done at an slight angle so that they rest more comfortably when the mouth is closed and the tongue relaxes. Hmm.... What else... Oh... There are about a billion and a half cigarette butts in every parking lot. I hate it!

DIY Steampunk iPhone Gramophone Novelty Speaker Tutorial from Cici Bean here. This DIY cost around $10 to make and you need a drill for this. She also used a funnel for the horn to keep the price down. The ultimate verdict on the sound was not great but you could move the “horn” around to project the sound in different directions.

I freehanded them, though my style is influenced on that of Ohana Craft’s. I shared them with her on Facebook and she really liked them. That is a huge compliment for me, since I really LOVE her work.

A Welcomed Change via Dr. Scholl's® Active Series

I have suffered from bone spurs in my right ankle for year now resulting from a past injury. Let's just say I'm accident prone...  Roller derby was not the sport I should have taken up.  broke my ankle TWICE in one year. The second time resulting in a major surgery to repair it. Two plates and eight screws which are still there to this day. Since then I've had a burning sensation in my ankle daily. It pops loudly at the slightest movement and crunches when I walk. Walking has always been uncomfortable, but I try to stay active for my kids and for my health.

I've yet to find a shoe or insole that gave me any long term comfort. They never fit my foot right or would only be comfortable in short spurts. I got The Dr. Scholl's Active Series insoles as part of their Influenster program.I was immediately excited to know I got accepted into the program. I LOVE Influenster! And I have three pairs of Dr. Scholl's shoes in the past, which I loved, but the best ones are no longer carried in any of the stores around here. (And I HATE ordering shoes online....) So I counted the days until I got them in.

I was amazed. I tried them out at first at a full day of work. During my busiest day, I felt like I was floating. My right ankle which usually burned and ached did not bother me at all. Even after I took my shoes off I felt as if I had been sitting at my desk all day. I couldn't believe I had been walking around the store! At that point I was hooked. I wore them for the rest of the week to make sure it wasn't a fluke before proclaiming my love for them to my whole family.

I have since ordered three more pairs of them on amazon. I even tried them in my flats. I can wear flats again!!!

The ones I got were even the perfect size for me. I didn't have to cut them down. I just slipped them in my shoe. It's given me the confidence to go walking again. I'm taking my daughter trick or treating this year because of these insoles! :)
