More petty venting
The "accidentally ally teehee" thing of trans men being mistaken for trans women by transphobes does not, and will never, register to me as "the cis can't tell". It's honestly pretty blatantly a moment of "transphobes see or are explicitly tipped off to a Person Of Gender and immediately default to transmisogyny". And tbh it pisses me off how much transmascs don't see it.
Over and over again, I see bait posts from passing trans men with some approximation of "I'm a trans woman haha" to bait transphobes into tirades about how they'll never be a woman. Followed usually by little teehees about how affirming it was.
It never works in reverse. Not because it's easier to "pass" (a concept that already has little legitimacy) as a man if you're transmasc. The most "passing" trans woman alive could make this post, and they have. It doesn't work because the moment you indicate to someone that you're trans, with no further information, the default is transmisogyny.
It's not "they can't tell". It's not "transmasc invisibility". It's trans women becoming such a prevalent target in the minds of the public that people are clamoring at the opportunity to cut them down.
Writing taught me that the most interesting thing about a person is never what happened to them. it's what they decided it meant. two people can go through the exact same thing and build completely different selves out of it. the event is just the event. the story they tell about it is who they become. I think about this every time i catch myself retelling something from my own life and notice i've quietly changed what it meant. we are all editing ourselves constantly.
you can just say "person with ovaries." "an AFAB" makes literally no sense here, in addition to being grammatically nonsensical. sorry but this bleet has been pissing me off all day but i feel like if i reply to it i'll get it trouble.
a trans man who hasn't had any ovaries for 25 years isn't going to experience perimenopause in his mid-40s, so why include him based on a gender assigned to him as a baby? like... he was a baby.
like why bother acting like you want to be trans-inclusive if you're too lazy to recognize that sometimes, trans bodies aren't going to be the same as they were at birth when they got handed their baby gender
i love queerplatonic relationships where one of them is aroace and the other isn't. i love when the allo character has a crush that fades over time. i love when they don't care what they are to each other as long as they're together. i love when romance is an option that they don't choose. i love when both aros and allos feel fulfilled without romance or sex.
Kiwifarms still exist? I thought it was finally shut down last year or something?
💀 You're living in an interesting space online, Anon. No, kiwifarms still determinedly exists. There are plenty of (open and crypto) users on tumblr and plenty of people still collecting and spreading information stored (and found!) through kiwifarms.
(Thinking specifically of when that eugenics game came out a bit ago and people were, yet again, rehashing their hatred of a trans woman whose name they only knew because of how viciously tortured and harassed she was, 24/7, for literal years, if I'm remembering correctly.)
So no. If only. Some companies have dropped them but fascist companies haven't gotten enough pushback in wide numbers to feel threatened enough to.
And they fucking benefit too much from having hoards of people of all political ideologies willing to stalk, harass and assault minorities (especially racialized/trans/women/folks), so. Yeah. I wish.
Actually!!! While we're learning that an extremely dangerous website that targets minorities (especially transfems) for harassment and doxxing is still alive and well;
Let me remind y'all that we have an infamous, proud user of kiwifarmers on tumblr who I've seen many others reblog from, try to send me information from stalking campaigns she's involved in and side with this user in her relentless (sexual) harassment, lying and doxxing of transfems all over the website.
Britts-Galaxy-Brain, who runs in all kinds of fascist circles (including within the trans community) and loves to promote TERF and generally bigoted ideology in whatever cracks she can find.
Her primary focus has been transmasc circles where "misandry is real and trans/women are oppressing us" is a huge theme and she gets loads of willing stalkers, harassers, and folks willing to share documents and lies about random transfems.
(Want proof? Check out her blog. She's open and proud about it.)
I don't think I've ever asked for shit here but if you have a moment, take it and block and report this account (and anyone closely related, as well as her side-blog cybermagusnex) for whatever the fuck you can.
I'd really appreciate some help making tumblr a little more tolerable for transfems in particular. 👍🏼

yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the doctor down the street who gives me my T shots in a clinic so small that it's just two rooms was excited for me when she said my voice had dropped yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the receptionist who could see that I was a man didn't bat an eyelash when I asked to see the gynecologist and called me sir when he asked how I wanted to pay yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the barber cuts my hair exactly how I want it and never gave me strange looks for being in a men's salon not even back when I didn't pass as one
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my friends have always gendered me correctly and stick to it even when it confuses other people and my friend's little sibling calls me older brother in Kannada yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my dog learned my new name quicker than the humans and she runs to give me a kiss when she's told to without being confused about who's being referred to
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I can feel the Adam's apple growing in my throat and my muscles getting stronger, and my smile more real and I'm growing a beard, and I talk more freely
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I'm here, and I'm alive, and so are you and there are good people, people who care and don't let them make you forget that-- you are not alone.
No government can stop us from existing and being happy.
I'm seeing a lot of people saying agab language should be used in medical contexts, and let me be clear:
"amab" and "afab" are not euphemisms for "male" and "female." not even a doctor should be using "afab" as shorthand for "has a vulva, uterus, high estrogen levels, low testosterone levels, etc," because HRT EXISTS! gender affirming surgeries exist! intersex people exist! you can be afab and change, remove, or not even have been born with any of the above features!!
you cannot use "amab" and "afab" as a shorthand for "has this or that set of features!"
it's not about using progressive language, it's about accurately accounting for people who exist outside the sex binary. those of us who do are under-studied, and the medical system is poorly equipped to handle us, often lumping us in with our agabs and failing to account for how our bodies actually work. this is a PROBLEM that cannot be papered over by finding new euphemisms for "male" and "female"
the BINARY is the problem, not the language
Marsha P. Johnson photographed in likely the 1970s or 1980s, in her apartment shared with roommate Randy Wicker.
ID - Marsha is a Black woman with short cropped dark hair, a radiantly wide smile, and a limp wrist sat in a chair and facing the camera over her shoulder.
i think there is a phenomenon where sometimes a trans person will go “hmm. i am treated as a man when it is convenient for others, and a woman when it is convenient for others, and often as a freakish third thing excluded from the advantages of both. surely, because of the gender binary, the Other Type of trans person experiences the opposite: they reap the benefits of maleness and femaleness at once.” like babes no they can do it twice
This applies to a bunch of other subgroups of the queer community too. Asexuals are made to feel like freaks for not being sexual enough by the same society that makes everyone else feel like freaks for being too sexual. Lesbians feel pressured to be bi even while bi women feel like they'd be more accepted if they were lesbian. Butches, femmes, and wlw who are neither are all made to feel like they're doing it wrong. PLUS unique facets of shittiness for every shade of non binary PLUS different attitudes towards mlm and wlw PLUS divisions within mlm spaces etc etc etc. And these frictions and differing needs and experiences are absolutely worth discussing, but every time we decide the problem is just that Those Other Queers have it easy we are making the actual problem worse.
Hilariously, it also happens within the asexual community as a function of even smaller identity microcosms; I grew up watching waves of this crash back and forth on AVEN back in the day.
Babes. They can always do it twice.
Reminder to newly out trans women/fems or anyone else on E, don’t let anyone gaslight you about your period symptoms. don’t let anyone with a child’s level understanding of how periods work make you feel like you’re stupid or delusional for experiencing period symptoms, especially if you think there might be something wrong.
things like endometriosis can develop in an estrogen-dominated system, because its the hormones that cause the growth of endometrial lesions, not the “parts” themselves. If you’re experiencing unusually painful symptoms* then you have a right to find a doctor who will take you seriously and not try to gaslight you into thinking that the pain is “normal”.
*period pain is not supposed to affect your daily life. It’s supposed to feel more like an inconvenience rather than a medical emergency. If you are struggling to go about your life, if you can’t move due to the pain, if you’re bed-ridden for the majority of your period, then that is not normal and you need to find a doctor who is going to take your pain seriously. This obviously goes for anyone who experiences periods because unfortunately it’s not common knowledge that experiencing agonising levels of pain is NOT NORMAL!!!
It's like this.
these groups work together, cross-pollinate theory, and substantially overlap in demographics because they are all deeply invested in leveraging transmisogyny while denying transmisogyny exists.
