They used to have this running joke during L'Manburg of like. Wil pinky-proposing. Because Tommy called them gay once and Wil just went "Bet." And dropped to his knee. They're funny silly quirky like that.

They didn't even realize they were like. acting like Fundy's two parents until they were asking what days Yogurt's available (for grandparent time). And just kinda froze.

They liked dancing a lot. <- influenced by error animatic. They liked to dance when they needed to talk things out before the fcr.

Post-reconciliation it takes A While before they ever think about dancing again. But, they never lost the easiness that came with just. Helping each other out. Eret cutting Wilbur's hair. Wilbur helping Eret with jewelry or her dress.

They're both also just. Really smitten? I'll post a youtube clip compilation but like. Wilbur - after fcr, canonically - kept calling Eret handsome. And got really jealous over Eret's looks and voice. And Eret canonically admires Wilbur. They're just so... I squeeze them by the torsos like barbie dolls.

The thing is that the Empires fandom— especially in season one, yeah we had way less Outright Loud Discourse than dsmp, but we were still an mcyt fandom in 2021, and a lot of us were in Both fandoms so behaviours, patterns and expectations absolutely carried.

There were way less volatile arguments, that’s true. But there was also… there was Definitely an unspoken correct way to enjoy Empires. Like with every big fandom, there was The Ships You Should Like/Enjoy, the Fanon and Headcanons You Should Accept, the Bits You Should Find Funny, the Takes You Should Have. There was very little room to disagree or deviate for things from the innocuous to the major, and there was a sense that if you broke the peace, the fandom itself could come crashing down on you

For sure like. Things Have been loosening over the years —and these many years out from its height, the people who remain in here are often way more easygoing, fandom culture as a whole has shifted, but like. There were shadows under the water, yknow? They were there.

Small things. My jausage fics at the time did get a good amount of praise so there Was an audience for it, but I did also get people telling me To My Face that my ships were weird or ridiculous. I had to pspsps people into fwhimmy and I could Not have (and indeed, did not ever post) shown any of my m/f ships besides jizzie.

Big stuff. For two and a half years, I only ever felt safe talking about how much it bothered me to see the constant whitewashing of MythicalSausage in private because I knew if I spoke about it, it would not go well for me. Same for the classism in many fanworks.

Idk. There’s no greater lesson to this post I’m just thinking about it tonight it seems
