there are no rules. biting? eye gouging? kicking a guy while he's down? all fair game.
a) one punch doesn't end it. people don't drop like video game characters.
b) adrenaline makes people weirdly strong.
c) you're probably outnumbered. no one fights fair.
d) you don't get to pick where it happens. concrete hurts. tables exist.
e) weapons appear out of nowhere.
your best bet? don't fight. but if you have to, end it fast.

if you are trying to muscle through every move, congrats, you will gas out in 30 seconds and become a sweaty, useless meat sack.
grappling is about efficiency. it's about control.
a) use leverage, not brute force.
b) let your opponent make mistakesĆ¢ā¬āif they push too hard, pull. if they pull too hard, push.
c) conserve your energy. the longer you last, the worse their life gets.
"but I'm strong, i can just overpower them",cool, but what happens when someone stronger shows up? technique > ego.

so imagine this sickos - you're wrapping up kendo practice, sweaty, tired, ready to go home. then some random dude in a black mask with horns walks in like a horror movie villain and goes, "I wanna fight all of you."
because I was in such a situation a few days ago, and it was scary,
but like me you'd think, who the hell does this guy think he is? did he forgot halloween is over š
the answer: he was a problem.
because when this man fought, he didn't just won, he dominated, and yeah I was defeated like a fly too..
first fight? over in SECONDS. he just lunges forward and shuts it down.
next few fights? same story. the guy was never fighting textbook kendo, his strikes weren't perfectly clean, and his flow was strange, impossible to read.
you know shit got real because:
Ichor's not wearing armor.
Ichor's not hesitating.
Ichor is hitting like he's trying to break the floorboards.
but THEN. the teachers step in. and now surely, finally, Ichor is about to meet his match, right?
nope.
he switched styles. stopped being predictable. kept pressing forward. and somehow, he still won, teachers tasting dirt š
so finally, someone asked, "Who the hell are you?"
he stayed silent then said, "Soulless Ichor", scary ass name for a scary ass dude.
The real kick in the butt was his age reveal, he's 22. please like no fucking way..
bro was younger than everyone in the dojo and just left them all questioning their existence.
and then? he just walks out. like it was a normal Tuesday.

how do i get better at fighting?
spar. theory is cute, but experience is what saves you.
a) get comfortable with being uncomfortable. fighting is chaos, learn to function in it.
b) train your cardio. nothing matters if you're gasping for air after 30 seconds.
c) fix your mindset. scared people hesitate. hesitant people lose.
d) embrace the fact that pain is part of the process.
fighting is not about who's better on paper. it's about who adapts faster when things go sideways.
How did vampires even figure out they could walk on walls and ceilings??? Imagine the first one just casually walking, then suddenly he's on the wall like, 'Whoa, hold up! We can do this?!'

aka: Takenouchi Yuya reminds everyone why he's HIM
so i watched this kendo final and let me tell you, this was not a fight. this was a masterclass in patience, strategy, and psychological warfare.
the fighters:
Takenouchi Yuya (Tokyo) , won this championship 10 YEARS AGO in 2014. imagine winning the biggest tournament of your life, vanishing into the training abyss, and then coming back a DECADE later like some final boss who was just waiting for the right moment.
Goya Ryo (Kyoto), young, hungry, insanely fast. this dude fought his way to the finals like his life depended on it and was not here to play.
the vibe:
the match starts and it's dead silent. thousands of people in the Nippon Budokan just holding their breath, waiting for violence.
both guys standing still, not moving. pure tension. waiting for the tiniest opening. this isn't just about speed or skill, this is mental chess with swords.
the first big moment:
Goya goes for a monster men strike (overhead hit).
Takenouchi just. doesn't care.
instead of blocking, he just slightly shifts his position, lets the strike miss by millimeters, and immediately counterattacks with kote (wrist strike) so clean it should be in a museum.
point takenouchi. Goya is now in oh shit mode.
the finish:
Goya knows he has to push now. he gets aggressive. starts lunging in more.
Takenouchi? bro is just waiting. like a spider in its web.
then boom, another precise kote strike from Takenouchi. match over.
no wasted movement. no panic. just cold, calculated destruction.
final thoughts:
this wasn't just about technique, this was high-level mind games. Takenouchi waited for the right moments, while Goya got impatient and paid for it.
dude literally took TEN YEARS to come back and win like it was destiny. actual movie character energy.
Goya will be back. he's fast, aggressive, and a future champion for sure, but this was Takenouchi's moment.
also, if i ever fight someone this patient, i am running away immediately.

cool. here's what you're actually signing up for:
a) footwork drills until your legs feel like expired spaghetti
b) accidentally hitting yourself with a wooden sword and pretending it didn't hurt
c) realizing that movie sword fights lied to you
d) learning how to cut properly and suddenly wanting to fight every idiot you see holding a katana wrong
e) the unshakable knowledge that if someone with a spear shows up, you are absolutely screwed
but hey, at least you'll look cool. eventually.
