today i learned that in fallout 3, dialogue has hidden emotion values. idk what the function of these are but i started digging into charon’s out of curiosity, and found that the only, single time when his emotion is flagged as “happy” is when he’s telling you that he has no contractual obligation to get the G.E.C.K. for you and that you have to go get it yourself. 

he gets to tell a contract holder “no” and makes them risk their life over something he could safely accomplish in like 5 seconds and he’s like “this is the best day of my life”.
