Hi, I'm Alice and I write body horror.

Since generative AI has been leeching on creatives on all social media, I have designated my Tumblr to be the rambling thoughts space.

I have a couple of series running at the moment:

Creatures Gone Astray (1/3 books out): Pathologist Nimue Gruffudd and spy Hannibal Meier are trying to stop the ecoterrorism syndicate run by David Jones, but will stopping Jones actually help Cardiff? There's something in the bay.

Misguided Minds (1/5 books out): Physicists Rose Newton and Quentin Reeve unravel the laws of our universe and beyond. Can they navigate academia in the process

Dreams About Vampires (1/3 books out): Wiches, Vampires, and humans peacefully coexist in Llangryn right up until necromancer Blowyn Biggar moves back from university. Local priest Llywelyn Driscoll is trying and failing to hold the fragile peace.

Songs of Gore (2/4 books out): The Leanan sídhe are in need of muses for blood. Tess Le Fanu is looking for an O Negative blood throughout the millennia: O Negeative blood and her husband Conchobar.

Inside the Ruck (2/? books out): Rugby can be hard on the psyche and the body. These players are failing hard to maintain either.

Principles of Palaeontology (1/3 books out): Dr Daisy Rivers' palaeoecology lab doesn't know she can time travel and they find out in the worst way possible.

angst aside, getting so flustered hearing your crush is single and gay that you unconsciously slow down, get immediately homosexually bullied about it, then tripping in the span of one minute is so embarrassing

'the long walk would never happen today-'

the long walk is happening every day. i graduated high school in 2014. four boys i graduated with enlisted in the military. two of them died before their 21st birthday while in active duty. one of them was injured in an ied explosion and honorably discharged in 2018. he took his own life a year later leaving behind his wife and newborn daughter. the fourth served until 2021 when the last of the us troops where pulled from afghanistan. he had pretty intense ptsd and had devolved into alcoholism to cope. two years ago, he was driving under the influence and crashed his car into a transformer. he died en route to the hospital. none of them made it to thirty.

i come from a small town in alabama. there are approximately two mental health facilities not including the ward at the hospital. there are five separate military recruitment centers. every now and then we get a boy lucky enough to make it to college football but most of the boys in this town become cops, mechanics, drug dealers, part time workers or they enlist in the military.

king wrote the long walk as an allegory for vietnam and the way it affected the young men and culture of the time. well, i didn't grow up during vietnam. i grew up during the wars in iraq and afghanistan. that is the lens through which i view this story and as someone who attended the funerals of all four of those boys i can assure you the long walk is happening every day.

I know it could make hitting the word count goal difficult, but so many MFM books could be improved by characters realising that being Poly is perfectly ok.

I need straight poly people to learn about queer poly spaces. They could have saved each other so much stress and maybe the V would have become a true triangle.
