this is inpired by the line in @soft-galaxies’s wonderful precanon fic, words and tricks :  ”They look at each other and Odo wishes he could simply download his thoughts into Quark’s mind somehow, or transmit them without having to rely on mere words.” that made me go ooh, what if Odo actually tried to link with Quark before he knew what that even was, just the need to be truly connected and undertsood in a way he instinctually knew he could be overriding he’s impulse control, wouldn’t that be a wonderful disaster? : DD
