Lara Gut-Behrami officially retires from ski racing in August of 2026 after a torn ACL has left her unable to compete in the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics which she had named as the last big goal of her career.

She has competed in 395 world cup races between December 2007 and October 2025, has achieved 101 podium finishes (her first one in February of 2008, see video above), 48 wins, 7 small crystal globes, 2 overall world cup wins, 3 Olympic medals over three disciplines and 9 world championship medals (two of which were golds).

further information on lisa eder's retirement:

there was a disagreement with ösv (ski austria) because she wanted to have manuel fettner join her training team, which was not possible due to multiple reasons (according to florian liegl of ösv). she said she understands they have their reasons for it, but says it "wouldn't have worked differently for her." she will not be changing nations (not sure how that would work tbh) and it's not yet known what she will be doing in the future.

so in short, yes, it is because of fettner, but not in the way some of us were theorising!
