Drunk Elephant is growing huge and is a very popular skincare brand now, they r a high end brand and some might not consider getting such pricy skincare products but some of their products r worth using if u would splurge on some products! The products I would recommend: 1️⃣T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial 2️⃣C- Firma day serum 3️⃣Protini polypeptide cream
Causes of oily skin: 1️⃣It can be genetic or hormonal 2️⃣Excess oil production by skin from skin being stripped of oils due to overwashing 3️⃣Poor diet, unhealthy food can cause damage to skin. Preventing oily skin: 1️⃣Maintaining a proper skin care routine with toning, masks and exfoliators 2️⃣SPF is must, skin getting oily can be signs of uv ray damaging skin and drying ur skin out 3️⃣Improve diet, foods like nuts, coconut water and cucumber r really good for oily skin. 4️⃣Mousturiser is a must, just because u have oily skin doesn't mean u can dry it out, when ur skin is dry it produces more oils so moisturise and be hydrated. 5️⃣A good cleanser that does not strip ur skin of natural oils, foam, cream and gel cleansers r best for oily skin they r gentle on ur skin and doesn't dry ur skin down. Don't go for product marketing not all oil free cleansers r good. 6️⃣Using non comedogenic products they won't clog ur pores and make ur skin condition worse. 7️⃣Using water based makeup is better for oily skin. Keeping your skin clean is most important. Products for oily skin : 1️⃣Toners: Witch hazel and tea tree oil or any tea tree products is good. 2️⃣Cleansers I recommend: Fresh soy cleanser, Origins checks and balance frothy face wash, Glossier milky jelly cleanser and Shea moisture African black soap. Just because u have oily skin doesn't mean u need to use oil free products, creamy and hydrating products r better on oily skin they r more gentle and can reduce oiliness than oil free products which sometimes can be harsh. 3️⃣Masks: Clay and charcoal masks, Loreal pure clay mask and charcoal both peel off and rinse off masks r good, Origins make good ones. U can also try blotting paper to stop oil. 4️⃣Moisturiser: Lightweight and non comedogenic, Cerave moisturizing lotion(I use ), Clinique moisture surge, Tarte drink of H2O and Tacha the water cream. 5️⃣Natural: a combination of tomato, lemon, gram flour, turmeric and milk u can miss and match any 3 ingredients from here to create a natural mask and for food Avocado, dark chocolate and whole grains r good. Avoid: 1️⃣Touching ur face too much 2️⃣Overwahshing ur face cuz it feels oily 3️⃣Try to consume less or no dairy products they r not good for any skin type. 4️⃣Using face powder to stop oil, it only clogs and suffocated ur pores and skin making it more oily. 5️⃣Dehydrating ur skin 6️⃣Intake of too much sugar or salt and caffeine. 7️⃣Not washing up after u sweat. I will post more about oily skin but these r the most important and main things u need to know for oily skin!
TONERS that r popular and ones u can go for if u wanna get a new toner! 1️⃣Milk makeup matcha toner( one of the most unique toners out in the market) 2️⃣Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner 3️⃣Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel toner 4️⃣Lush tea tree water (one of my favourites) 5️⃣Pixi Glow Tonic 6️⃣Dickinson’s original witch hazel toner 6️⃣Origins united state balancing tonic 7️⃣Yes to grapefruit pore perfecting toning mist 8️⃣Caudalie beauty elixir 9️⃣Fresh Rose Floral Toner 🔟Body Shop Aloe calming toner We use toners to balance skins ph level and as it it concentrated it can go deep into our pores and take out impurities, dirt and excess oil. Make sure to hydrate ur skin after toner if u have dry skin I’ll talk about it more I depth in another post. I’ll post more product mentions post on more skincare products so it’s easy for u to get a product with recommendation!
Causes of blackheads and whiteheads: blackheads r caused when sebum and dead skin cells clog ur pores, oxidised to the colour black and whiteheads r bacteria under the follicle they don’t oxidise so they stay white. Ways to get rid of them: 1️⃣Clean skin: just make sure ur skin is free of dead skin, dirt and makeup so it won’t clog ur skin. Use gentle cleanser. 2️⃣The 3 ingredient: Sugar , lemon and honey. U can use this together or separately , as a mask or spot treatment or as a exfoliator but these will get the job done. 3️⃣Tightened pores: if ur pores r tight then it won’t get clogged so have tight pores by using ice and gentle products. 4️⃣Baking soda: use baking soda and water to exfoliate or use it as a mask. 5️⃣Charcoal and clay masks: these r the most effective ways. These extract and clear out ur pores. U can even use charcoal cleansers. 6️⃣Salicylic acid: this is good for blackheads. Look for spot treatment of face washes with salicylic acid. 7️⃣Benzoyl peroxide: this is good for whiteheads , this kills bacteria. 8️⃣AHAs and BHAs : products with these will treat ur skin and eliminate blackheads and whiteheads. 9️⃣More products : tea tree oil (effective) ,apple cider vinegar, aloe Vera , egg white mask, green tea, witch hazel(for whiteheads preferably) and enzyme exfoliator. 🔟Face brush: helps this problem a lot but I will highly suggest it being a gentle brush. Things to avoid: 1️⃣Avoid touching ur face, this will lead to clearer and softer skin. 2️⃣Avoid sweat , have wipes or blotting paper to stay clear of sweat and most importantly wash off. 3️⃣Avoid blackhead and white head extraction this might help temporarily but it will enlarge ur pores, instead steam ur face that will open up ur pores and the exfoliate to clear out ur skin. 4️⃣Avoid Scrubbing , tugging on ur skin will not make it any better. 5️⃣Avoid sleeping with sunscreen or makeup, this clogs ur pores. These techniques won’t work overnight u have to follow it for a good amount of time to see result, there aren’t many tips that actually work overnight , I’ve seen a lot of people claim that some remedies work overnight but very few do so just follow these ur skin should become clear!
This will be divided into two parts, the 2nd part will be about makeup remover products! 1️⃣Cleansing oils: I'm a firm believer of gentle products being the best and cleansing oils r gentle on skin. No, oils don't clog pore if u wash them off properly. They don't strip ur skin along with the makeup, they nourish ur skin while breaking down the makeup. Cleansing oils melt the makeup and melting the makeup is very important or the residue will clog ur skin. Best cleansing oils r extra virgin olive oil ( use good quality like organic), coconut oil( literally the best skin care product cuz of its multipurpose and u can even make soap bars out of it), jojoba oil and almond oil. 2️⃣Vaseline: I've been using Vaseline for so long as a make up remover cuz I bought makeup remover wipes and they felt so harsh on skin so I use Vaseline with a tissue then wash it off with cleanser. It breaks down makeup and picks it off from ur skin. 3️⃣Shea butter: it's very thick which is y it melts the makeup of but it keeps ur skin moisturised ur skin doesn't feel dry. Just make sure u wash ur face after using oils, Vaseline or balms because they stick to ur skin otherwise, if ur lazy just use a tissue with some water instead of washing. 4️⃣Witch Hazel: Use alcohol free witch hazel in a cotton pad to wipe ur makeup. U can combine it with coconut oil or dilute it with water. As its thinner than oils it goes into ur pores to take off foundation or base makeup keeping ur pore clean . 5️⃣Baby wash: Lots of people use baby wash as its gentle just wash ur face regularly with baby wash it will take off the makeup. I don't really recommend wipes I feel rubbing on ur skin isn't good but if ur tired of busy just use a wipe that has moisturiser it.
I've gathered some tips from real models and skincare experts for how to get model like skin. 1️⃣Diet: Every model swears by water it is the most important part of skincare and their lives. Models also have a good diet with lots of fruits and greens, our skin can't only improve from the outside it has to improve from the inside so a good clean diet is important and models also have regular detox with water, lemon juice or any juices and different tea's. 2️⃣Taking care of ur skin: For a model their skin is very important so they take some measures to take care of it no matter how busy they r. Models don't touch their faces often , they don't rub of their makeup they r very gentle with their skin which leads to their tightened and smooth skin. Models also gets a lot of sleep which develops their skin. 3️⃣Moisturise: Very crucial element in a models life. Models get their smooth shiny skin because of tons of moisturising, models always have dewy, glowy and hydrated skin that's because they constantly moisturise which reduces wrinkles and skin creases. Even in old age their skin stays healthy because of a lot of moisturiser. Even if u have oily skin moisturising is important. 4️⃣Consistent skincare: Models usually get their skincare ready by their skin specialist and they stick to their routine which is y they don't face any skin problem. If u can get a skincare routine fixed by a skin specialist or just have a set skincare according to ur skin type and stick to it. It's hard for ur skin to cope up with different products so stick with ur skincare regime. 5️⃣Products: Models never use harsh products on their skin. They use everything gentle like gentle cleansers, masks, sunscreen, oils and natural products as skincare like fruits and veggies. They nourish their skin with oils to get dewy skin , they also use different massage techniques to promote blood circulation like cold roller metal tools under the eyes humidifier and ice baths which is washing ur face with ice water. They also do oil cleansing Which is very good for ur skin.
1️⃣Mario Badescu rose water or cucumber facial spray 2️⃣Evian facial spray (great for intense hydration and is lightweight). 3️⃣Tacha dewy skin mist (great for glowy dewy look and can be used as a moisturiser). 4️⃣The body shop vitamin e face mist (great for dry skin). 5️⃣Fresh rose floral toner spray (balances skin's ph level and is a great toner for all skin types). 6️⃣Herbivore rose hibiscus face mist(great for all skin type and for hydration). 7️⃣Clinique moisture surge facial spray (great for moisture and for dry skin). 8️⃣Lush tea tree water toner(great for acne also acts as a toner). 9️⃣Glossier soothing face mist (great for sensitive skin and for hydration). 🔟Pixi vitamin wake up mist (great for glowy skin and hydration).
CAUSES: 1️⃣Anything that strips oils and moisture from our skin. There r two types of dry skin 1. Water dry which is from dehydration 2. Oil dry which is from lack of oils and moisture in our skin. 2️⃣Harsh chemicals from skincare products and makeup also harsh clothes or rubbing and tugging on ur skin. 3️⃣The weather which can be dry or cold and too much sun exposure. 4️⃣Taking long hot showers or contact with hot water in general. 5️⃣Certain medication that causes skin irritation. 6️⃣Dehydration from lack of water and wrong diet, too much intake of oily and junk food. PREVENTION: 1️⃣ I've mention this before as it's important but face mists r really important for dry skin as they r light weight. 2️⃣ Humidifier or air purifier will make the the air softer and will get rid of cold dry air maintaining moisture. 3️⃣ Lightweight moisturiser nothing too heavy which will cause the skin to break out of too much products. 4️⃣U will hear this in every skincare tips from everywhere but that's because it's the most important thing which is water. Water will omit dehydration, toxins and skin problems. 5️⃣ Using sunscreen as sun can damage skin in many ways also causing dry skin so protect ur skin from the sun. 6️⃣Dry brushing gets rid of flaky skin acts as a exfoliater, and we cannot neglect our lips, elbows and knees they also have to be exfoliated and moisturised. PRODUCTS: 1️⃣Face mists, hand creams and thick lip balm with spf. 2️⃣ Using oils like rosehip oil, jojoba oil, Shea butter, pomegranate oil and vitamin a and e oils. 3️⃣Thick body balm these r great for the skin and lasts longer that body butter or lotion. 4️⃣Aloe Vera, berries and food with Anita oxidants. 5️⃣ Clinique moisture surge moisturiser 6️⃣The body shop Vitamin E line especially the face mist, wash and moisturiser. 7️⃣Mario bedescu rose or cucumber face mist. 8️⃣Belief true cream aqua bomb 9️⃣Palmers cocoa butter formula( personal favourite). 🔟Jergens wet skin moisturiser AVOID: 1️⃣Hot showers 2️⃣Sun exposure without spf 3️⃣Petroleum jelly or over moisturising let ur skin breath. Use Shea butter instead of coconut oil. 4️⃣Parabens, mineral oils and sls 5️⃣Alcohol like witch hazel they strip oils from skin 6️⃣Baking soda and lemon ( anything acidic) These r all the things to consider if u have dry skin, it's hard going to different websites for different tips so I've gathered all at once with my own tips. Be gentle with ur dry skin keep its hydrated and moisturised, have water intake and a good diet for healthier skin!
1️⃣Cleansing towels: It's important to put clean things in ur skin so having lots of cleansing towels is a more hygienic option then using one towel over and over again. 2️⃣Metal face massager: Metal under eye rollers r used to apply eye cream as they depuff our skin. Having a cold metal face massager is good as it promotes blood circulation and relaxes our skin making it healthier. 3️⃣Humidifier: This is great as it opens up our pores so any product can seep into our skin and it draws toxins and dirt out. I believe it is worth the money. 4️⃣Cleansing Brushes: It is important to have gentle cleansing brushes. I prefer the silicone or sponge ones as they r more gentle. They r really good for exfoliating. 5️⃣Silk pillow case: This is a bit pricy but it maintains the quality of our skin. Unhygienic and rough pillow cases damage our skin and causes breakout so sleeping in a soft silk pillow cover will be gentle on ur skin.
Glowy Skin Guide! 1️⃣H20: water is key whether it's in the form of a drink or Ice. Being hydrated is key to glowy skin, ur skin will show no signs of dryness and ice tightens our pores so it will make ur skin look blured. 2️⃣Food: glowy skin cannot be achieved only by the outside it has to be from the inside as well, having antioxidants, foods like papaya, blueberry, nuts, dark chocolate, green tea and spinach will make ur skin glow from within. 3️⃣Juices: wether it's drinking fruit and vegetable juices or putting it on ur face this will give u glowy skin. 4️⃣Serums and oils: these to products r gold for ur skin. Using non comedogenic oils like tea tree and vitamin e and c will give ur skin a healthy glow. They make ur skin hydrated and make sure it's not lacking anything. 5️⃣facial sprays: this makes sure ur skin always looks and feels hydrated. Always carry and use cucumber or rose facial mist it cools down ur skin and makes it look dewy. Only following these tips once won't do anything u have to continue these process to get results, exfoliate use coconut oil and cleanse and this will result to glowy skin.
ULTIMATE EXFOLIATOR GUIDE! Exfoliation is a crucial step in skincare, it clears out dead skin cells and dirt from pores so here is the only guide u need for exfoliators! 1️⃣There r 2 types of exfoliation physical and chemical. Physical uses beads and or little bits to scrub ur face and chemical is usually a peel. Both r for different skins, u have to select the exfoliator according to ur skin, if u have oily skin, dry skin go for physical and if u have sensitive, normal skin go for chemical exfoliator. But it is very important to know what suits ur skin exfoliators can be harsh so pick a gentle one. 2️⃣Some natural exfoliators r oatmeal, papaya, brown sugar, sea salt and almonds( grated). U can use these as exfoliator with honey, lemon juice, coffee grounds or yogurt. These r much more gentle and easy to make if u don't want to splurge on a product. 3️⃣If u go for physical exfoliator look for ingredients like papaya or nuts , avoid large exfoliants. Brushes r a good way to go too but just make sure the products u r using r not being harsh on ur skin use gentle daily cleaning brushes like clarasonic or spin go perfect skin brushes. If u go for chemical ones there r 2 ingredients to look for AHAs for dry skin and BHAs for oily-acne prone skin. 4️⃣ Now for some products , for physical exfoliators Lush ocean salt, Any St Ives scrub and fresh sugar face polish and for chemical Dr Dennis Gross. These r the ones I would recommend but purchase any product according to ur skin type. 5️⃣These r tips to help u exfoliate ur skin better but doing it according to skin type is very important so exfoliate according to ur skin !
I've gathered a lot of skincare tips that r great for our skin and since there r a lot of them I'm breaking them down to pt.1 and pt.2! 1️⃣Not rubbing any products on ur skin: Our skin is very gentle especially on the face, rubbing can lead to premature wrinkles and breakout. I've seen its best to tap moisturisers, serums and any cream products on ur skin. 2️⃣Hydrating and moisturising ur neck: A lot of the times we tend to neglect our neck but not hydrating our neck leads to the skin being dull and wrinkles forming. 3️⃣Using clean cold spoons under ur eyes: This trick does wonders for de puffing ur under eye. Refrigerate some clean spoons or u can use those metal balls that comes with some eye creams, u can also use this to apply eye creams. It is really good for the skin as it calms the skin down. 4️⃣Refrigerating aloe Vera or lemon juice: This is great for ur skin! Ice tightens our pores and calms the skin but using beneficial products like aloe and lemon can be really good for ur skin. Aloe calm the skin while lemon brightens the skin and the ice will tighten the pore. 5️⃣Being extra moisturise: I do this all the time. I moisturise my skin a lot and this makes my skin extra soft and prevents premature wrinkles! These r some useful tips for ur skin I found and pt.2 will be on its way !
Cleanser 101 Cleansing is the most important step of skincare and picking the right cleanser is a more important step! Here is a little guide to know more about cleansing! 1️⃣Picking the right cleanser according to ur Skin type, using any cleanser on ur face won’t help ur skin. 2️⃣Researching the ingredients is important, knowing what ur putting on ur face is good sometimes our skin gets worse just by the wrong products on our face. 3️⃣The best skin advice I can give to u is to use all gentle products on ur face. The skin on our face is very gentle no matter what skin type u r. So using gentle cleanser is the best way to! The purpose of cleanser is to clean ur face and gentle cleansers r perfect for that. 4️⃣For dry skin use hydrating or creamy cleanser they r so healthy for ur skin and for acne or oily skin using calming or cleansers with acne fighting ingredients is good but that does not mean drying out ur skin that's the last thing u wanna do. Oily skin shouldn't be dried out but nourished so ur skin stop producing oil. 5️⃣For normal and combination skin use gentle cleansers u don't want to ruin the skin type u have so use light products and be gentle with ur skin.
