‘Despite playing Choices since the literal first day it came out, I've never finished even the first book of Crown and the Flame. It was because I wanted to spend all my diamonds on it without having to pay for them, and back in the early days, getting diamonds was really hard unless you bought them. Because of this, I'm just now getting a chance to play a lot of the book at once due to the new book passes. This playthrough has made me realize kind of how much Choices has changed throughout the years. These chapters are much shorter than the ones for current books, and the choices made seem to have more direct consequences. For example, think of how many options there are for how possible allies can act towards you in the story or if they even stay in the story. Not only that, but the diamond choices are so different. There's only one per chapter, and it almost always affects the plot. This kind of makes me wonder why Choices changed that., and it seems to be mainly a profit based decision. Now, a chapter can have up to 3 diamond scenes, all ranging in price for reasons I still can't fathom, and most of the choices either make little sense (paying for an outfit already in your closet), or is just extra information that you could easily look up a playthrough in order to see. Since I've fallen in and out of playing Choices over the years, this was the first time I've truly thought deeply about what people talk about when they say they miss "the old Choices". There's just such a different feel to this book than the newer ones, and it's a feeling I want to experience more while playing through these stories.’

There are so many choices that are just a big waste of your diamonds. They add absolutely no value to the story. this is always been a little bit of a problem but it’s time goes by it’s getting worse. Like there’s a scene in the Royal Romance I think it’s book 2 where you have to pay 30 diamonds just sit at a bar and talk to Drake. 30 diamonds is a sex scene, so when you see that price tot think it's going to be sex. This was just a conversation at a bar that added absolutely nothing to the story, or helped you solve anything any easier. It was a ripoff that they STILL haven't corrected. At best it was worth 12 - 15 diamonds. That really just ticks me off when that happens, and it's happening more often. another example is in dirty little secrets, the latest chapter, you pay 17 diamonds to look at a folder that basically gives you information that does nothing to help the story.
