Read an infuriating post about The Bad Batch once that went along the lines of this:
“Echo can keep rescuing the regs with Rex or something, lol, but the rest of the Batch deserve to settle down in Pabu at the end of the series!”
Or something.
Or something.
Yeah, that’s our Echo.
Our ARC trooper, who blew up in battle, spent years as a POW, had his body and mind used as a twisted science experiment to the point where he’s not even considered a regular member of the army anymore, commando, resilient, bad-ass pilot, soldier, dude who had the opportunity to run away like a fucking coward and he said NAH SON THAT AIN'T ME, GIVE MOMMA BIRD HER BEATING STICK and proceeded to run right back into danger to save his brothers using his screwdriver hand and his RAGE and his MAN SKIRT and his MIGHTY FURROWED BROW and FUCK YOU IF YOU'RE GONNA STOP MOMMA BIRD FROM RESCUING EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE BABIES.
“Or something”.
Gotta also love how rescuing slaves - their biological siblings, people they grew up with - is less important than retiring on paradise according to this clown.
Echo's goals for saving his people is seen like a fucking HOBBY.
And this, the last episodes of the series, this badass shines like a goddamned diamond. Folks I am VINDACTED.
Echo rescued his brothers and sisters.
Echo helped destroy an Imperial facility that effectively ended testing on clones, what he went through.
Echo convinced one of the scientists to help him keep unraveling the Empire's evil plans at the end of the series, even though he had a home on paradise AND HAD EVERY REASON TO GIVE IT UP.
I fucking love Echo.
OR SOMETHING!
What kind of things would Crosshair attach to his new hand? I gave him a spork.
While lounging on the beach of Pabu, enjoying the sun and listening to an underground Rebel News Frequency, Hunter hears that a "courageous blond pilot blew up an Imperial space station/super weapon, making an impossible shot after disabling the targeting system of their x-wing."
And, upon hearing this news, he calmly goes to the nearest long-range comm relay, gets in touch with Rex, where the following conversation happens:
Hunter: SHE DID WHAT?!?!?!
Rex: What? Who?
Hunter: I KNOW OMEGA BLEW UP THAT SPACE STATION! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU'D KEEP AN EYE ON HER!
Rex: OH! Oh, no, that wasn't Omega, nor did she have anything to do with it. Yeah, I was shocked too, until I learned that the pilot's name was Skywalker- yeah, that Skywalker. My General's son- yeah, no, crazy, you knew about the secret wife, too, right? Yeah, small galaxy, but it wasn't Omega. No, she was hijacking an Imperial freighter on the other side of the galaxy. Of course, she still blew up a shipping depot while doing it, but she didn't blow up the Death Star, totally different mission.
"Clone Force 99 died with Tech"
which means
Crosshair doesn't think Clone Force 99 died when he left
He knows they went on without him
For a long time
The hands down best part of any fic with fox in it is you can GUARANTEE that man is going to fake a government document.

Tech blinked his eyes open at the bottom of the ravine. Impossible— nearly. The fall was too long. His chances of survival were less than two percent. Even if he had, he certainly should not be free of pain. Perhaps he was in shock.
He raised a hand to adjust his goggles, and, to his surprise, found it pale blue and translucent. Fascinating.
“Yeah, it takes a little while to get used to.”
That voice… Echo?
No.
A reg, also blue and translucent, was perched on a boulder to his left, legs crossed, one foot dangling. His appearance did not differ much from standard, save for facial hair and a small tattoo on his right temple. It was too blurry to identify what it represented.
“My theory,” the apparition continued, “Was prolonged exposure to Jedi. You’re kinda throwing that off, though.”
Tech could do little more than blink. “Who are you?”
“Right, sorry,” the reg grinned, “Been following you guys around for so long I forget you don’t already know me.”
Tech squinted, looking more closely. Something began to stir in the back of his mind. Something Echo had shown him. That they’d spoken about at length
“The name’s Fives.”
Plo: whoops, how clumsy of me I have dropped some inappropriate (wink) literature in the workplace, but zounds! I am needed in the next room. I hope no one accidentally picks it up and reads it! (Hurries off leaving suspicious pamphlet on the ground)
Fox: is your General trying to sneak you porn? (Takes nonplussed sip of caf)
Wolffe: no he's trying to get us to unionize.
Fox: (spits out caf)
Mace called Depa "Padawan" in a real stern voice once during a Council meeting, to which she, completly flabbergasted, replied "Im 42?!"
This lead to all people on the council laughing and the meeting being completely ruined because every time one of them said something they had to start laughing again.

Teaching methods on Kamino change drastically after the Jedi Order starts to supervise the clones' training, which leads to a sort of generational/cultural shift: Clones of the first generation were exposed to considerably more brutal conditioning methods and objectification in their training than clones that would finish their training during the war.
Additionally, the Jedi encourage clone cadets to embrace, value, and insist on their self-worth, as demonstrated by, for example, Yoda and Plo Koon in the early episodes.
Hence, we can observe this stark contrast between Rex and Fives when confronted with a situation that requires them to stand up for themselves, as most prominently exemplified during the Umbara Arc.
Throughout the show we see multiple instances of Rex's struggle with prioritizing his loyalty for the Republic over his and his brothers' needs, while Fives is willing to die for what he believes is right.
Rex's individuality seems more defined by external means, constructed through his (forced) service as an extension of the Republic. Fives's individuality seems more defined by intrinsic means, constructed through his (forced) service as an addition to the Republic.
I like the idea that this difference between Rex and Fives might reflect (it's just me speculating) the effect of the Jedis' philosophy and influence on the clones' training.
Just a reminder that Echo, after being held as a POW for like a year, frozen in a cyro chamber, having just been disconnected from the mainframe by having a cable yanked out of his fucking spinal cord goes:
Echo: *raspy might be dying voice* Rex
Rex: What is it!??? *<- terrified that he is absolutely dying*
Echo: I’ve got a big head ache 😙
“why aren’t you worried about the finale?”
“echos on it.”
