🔹She/her, arospec ace
🔹I go by AJ, or Void, if that feels more natural to you
🔹Grad student, somehow
🔹Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
🔹Allegedly this is a Star Wars blog but idk how true that is anymore
🔹Also a fan of lots of other things, including but not limited to: Tolkien's Legendarium, The Queen's Thief, Howl's Moving Castle, Pride and Prejudice, Wooden Overcoats, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Over the Garden Wall, The Lunar Chronicles, folk music of various origins and persuasions, paintings with impressive use of light, good food, fancy drinks, and cats.
🔹Occasional artist (read: doodler), slightly more frequent writer
🔹I have one sideblog, @arafinweanappreciation, for Tolkien content
🔹I really REALLY like answering asks so don't be afraid to inbox me random questions if you ever want to
🔹I try to be diligent about organizational tagging for characters and fandoms both for ease of searching and blocking purposes
🔹On that note, I usually only tag spoilers for ongoing content (i.e. I’ve never tagged spoilers for rebels or tcw), and stop tagging spoilers 4-6 weeks after a finale drops. If you’re currently watching a Star Wars show that finished its most recent season more than a month ago, scroll at your own risk
🔹 #void doodles - my art tag, quality often questionable (also mostly inactive because I do almost all traditional art and I'm not very good at taking nice pictures of it lol.)
🔹#talking into the void - mostly me rambling about irl stuff. feel free to block it if you're here for fandom stuff tbh. doesn't hurt my feelings
🔹 #aj writes - my fanfic and related posting (Star Wars fic masterlist here)

so excited for wooden overcoats to finally have a special for every important holiday of the year: christmas, summer, halloween, rudyard funn's birthday, and Moon
Thinking about the way people talk about Satine Kryze like…
Violence is masculine and masculinity is aspirational. To not be violent is to be weak and weakness is feminine and femininity is weakness. And if a woman dares to refuse to be violent and calls that strength? Then she must be crazy.
that final "other people are all there is" is still so wildly satisfying to get to. the fake out with the other scene so much earlier in the episode, the helicopter sounds driving up the tension, the way you exactly what's coming. it's simply so good.
I really hope Rudyard on The Moon is going to be set before the finale, partly cos it makes most sense for fun character dynamics and not interfering with the existing resolution, but mostly cos it's just hilarious to me if the Funn twins literally went to the moon by accident one time and then no one ever mentioned it again.
i honestly don't really understand why "some people prefer watching gameplay online rather than playing games themselves" is treated as such a taboo when being a spectator is considered a pretty mundane way to engage with most sports, game shows, reality tv or even just like. chess.
Ryland Grace and his popularity as a character feels like such an important step in repairing the cultural tsunami left by the long running trope of every genius character needing to be an insufferable asshole to everyone in a ten mile radios about it.
Conversely, Eva Stratt is doing wonders for repairing and inspiring a appreciation for commanding women with dubious moral convictions who are fully willing to bend laws for the greater good without hesitation.
me holding a gun to a mushroom: tell me the name of god you fungal piece of shit
mushroom: can you feel your heart burning? can you feel the struggle within? the fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make. you cannot kill me in a way that matters
me cocking the gun, tears streaming down my face: I’M NOT FUCKING SCARED OF YOU
being a grad student on campus over the summer mostly means I never know what's happening ever. why are there a bunch of freshmen in the coffee shop next to the library? I know it's not an orientation day because I didn't have to table yesterday for work. never mind those are clearly high schoolers. why are there high schoolers here? why is someone playing classic pop in the quad at 9 am so loud that I can hear in in my third-floor study room in the library? why are so many people screaming? mysteries that may never be solved
