Relationships have always been a really confusing concept to me. Its just something that i cant seem to grasp on what it is and what it entails.

Sure i have a girlfriend and i have people i consider my friend, but i also dont feel a connection to those feelings you're seemingly supposed to have when it comes to relationships both platonically and romantically.

Maybe its the fact that my relationships were very messy growing up, which led me to have a very unclear view of what is a relationship whether its platonic or romantic.

Because a majority of the time my feelings dont fit in what falls under platonic or romantic. I dont feel anything special at all when it comes to the people i surround myself with.

I just see them as people who im around with from time to time and nothing more and nothing less.

need need NEED to have some kind of aroace matchmaking app because having a partner is so fucking essential to living nowadays. Ok I know aro posts being tagged as aroace is annoying but also. Aromanticism is very much part of the aroace experience ? Unless the post is specifically about allosexual aromantic I think it's kind of weird to police other aspecs' tagging system about their own identity. I get the annoyance of people tagging posts relating to your identity in a way you don't relate to but also it's just such a non issue. 'why is this post tagged aroace when there's no mention of asexuality?' well maybe because aroace people are aromantic too idk.

Part of the reason why I don’t identify myself as aromantic despite technically fitting the definition is the overall culture surrounding it. I always found it extremely off putting the overall híper focus on friendships. Like I get it, friendships is extremely undervalued compared to romantic love, but also, I find their spaces overall triggering as a survivor of friendship abuse and an aplatonic individual. Sometimes, I even feel angry and repulsed.

Everything is watered down do be as inoffensive as possible. Every statement sounds like it's been revised to prove themselves to an imaginary hate mob, when there is an actual hate mob, who doesn't care how palatable you make yourself.

I think that if you were to see someone from another community acting this way about their community and using language and phrasing the way a lot of aspec people do, then you would probably assume that they were either insecure about their identity or seeking external validation from whoever they consider "normal".
