Tumblr inactivated my account months ago for reasons unknown.

I never got an email saying that my account was inactivated an explanation of what had happened, I just tried to log in one day and couldn’t.

I submitted support tickets to try and regain access, but months went by with no response.

Then, today, out of the blue, I got an email— my account has FINALLY has been restored!!

So I’m back!

My classmate-neighbor’s wife had a kid yesterday & I’m Very Much not ready to be a parent but it’s really making me think.

I rarely used to think about babies/children/being a parent and didn’t have strong feelings on the subject (and didn’t feel like I particularly wanted a kid in my life when I pictured my future), but suddenly I’m thinking that maybe one day, in many years, we could be parents too, maybe.

We are next-door neighbors with my classmate & his wife, and my classmate is the same age as me (but his wife is ~3 years older than my spouse is).

They seem to have a different situation than we do (eg. my classmate is not taking paternity leave from school & his wife works from home whereas my spouse works in-person and I would want to take parental leave), and I know there’s no way I actually want to be a parent anytime soon, but I’m also feeling a lil jealous— the baby looks so cute!
