He was not standing in a landscape. He was suspended in a breathtaking, boundless cosmos. Vast, sweeping nebulae of deep indigo and violet unfurled in every direction, glittering with the serene, ancient light of a billion silver stars. It was an entire universe contained within a single entity, stretching out in flawless, silent majesty.
The demonic awl slipped from his grip, tumbling uselessly into the ether. The boy's trembling hands dropped to his sides. He realized that he had not entered a human mind. He was a speck of dust, floating safely within a celestial cradle.
Pulled by a buoyant gravity, the boy drifted toward the center of the starlit expanse.
At the heart of the cosmos burned a blazing Sun. It was the glowing, radiant spirit of the boy he was simultaneously viewing in the other realm, magnified here into a blinding celestial anchor.
Surrounding the Sun was a swirling nebula of fathomless dark. This was the entity's true core. It was no longer a rigid sphere of nothingness; it had expanded into a breathtaking, protective aura, weaving its abyssal shadows around the human light. The dark held the light, and the light illuminated the dark in a state of perfect, cosmic equilibrium.
