Nagumohara gang (+ Haru lol) as sprites :D
Hello InaTumblr (??) do we fw some OC sprites?
They're all kids of OG characters, I'd love to see if you can guess who :>
(or to hear your thoughts in general since these are the first bunch of sprites I've done in this style and I'd REALLY love to nail it down for...reasons...)
Their names are Yuu, Masuyo and Tamiko respectively.
coming from another abner enthusiast, what draws you to abner? what about him do YOU find appealing?
also--- im not the only one???!!!!! ive never met another abner fan nobody ever knows who he is!!1 aaaghhhh!!!!!!
Hello!!! There's actually 3 of us in the Tbolts Discoed server so there's definitely a secret niche of Abe fans out there ;>
Soooo, what do I like about Abby?
Well I found out of his existence through the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon, so the first thing that drew me to him was definitely his design (especially since while I still think that Beetle is fun he's nothing like Canon Abe).
But what skyrocketed to one of my all time favorites was a mixture of his Tbolts characterisation AND his original Beetle shenanigans that I retroactively read. There's not a single Foes of Spider-Man run I haven't enjoyed, finding out he was such a slimy asshole before the Thunderbolts stuff really made him so much more appealing to me.
Also he's like, very funny. Like this sequence from the Web of Doom mini-series where a man he's working with dies of a drug overdose and he just- assumes he must've had a heart attack because of his sheer aura
Also he finger guns when he shoots people. Most unserious guy that's ever existed I love him with all my heart.
He also hasn't been written decently in like 20 years but that's another can of worms.... (not gonna go over the Mach stuff as it would get REALLY long and also you seem more interested in the Beetle stuff I reckon...?)
What about you though? I'd love to talk about him with someone new! :>
Hey. You.
You like the Thunderbolts?
Then go watch this:
It's been I think at least a year but uh more Tbolts memes. I actually got everyone this time (legally speaking, rip Charlie)... even B@€&y...
[Part 1] [Part 2]
Have you played the game Dispatch? I ask because I think it tackles similar themes and ideas as the older Thunderbolts runs -maybe not exactly the same, but certainly closer than any actual marvel comic under the thunderbolts name in a long time.
If you’ve played it, I’d love to hear whether it scratched the thunderbolts itch for you as it did for me.
Suuuuuuper late reply (I don't use Tumblr much these days 👉👈)
So I haven't, BUT, I've seen plenty of clips roaming around the Internet and I definitely get what you're saying. I got recommended the Reddit not too long ago and actually saw other people making similar comparisons (saw Mach-1 pop up more in those comment sections than he has in any comic book in the last five years 😭)
I'm not sure if I'll get to play it for myself, but I might cave soon and watch a gameplay of it because it does look really fun and I'm gonna be chasing those Tbolts crumbs. If/When I do I might make a post about it :P
I was wondering... what do the rest of you og Thunderbolts fans think about Fixer and Citizen V showing up in this future Iron Man series?
I've got a couple of thoughts.
First of all, they're very obviously on the villain side of this cover, meaning they're gonna be antagonists. Which is...especially funny considering Fixer was the only Thunderbolt that had the semblance of an arc in Doomstrike, and the whole point was that he wanted to be on the good side of things again. Having him switch back the second he gets another appearance is definitely a choice.
I'm not too distraught by it because Doomstrike is...well it's not REALLY a Thunderbolts story as much as it is a Bucky one. Because of that Songbird and Fixer's scenes felt incredibly shallow and them not holding a shred of weight is fitting as much as it is depressing.
And also Mel should whoop his ass if that's the case, but I doubt she'll show up here soooooo-
But enough about Doomstrike (although I could definitely make a post about it espressing ny thoughts, wink wink), I realise I could be wrong and maybe Bert's just playing some double agent game, and if that's the case hell yeah Marvel prove me wrong you go girl 💅. But yeah, we'll see.
My second thought is: who the FUCK is Citizen V now???
Because Zemo's dead as hell and at this point I can't even begin to wrap my head around John Watkins the 3rd being in the tights again. Not because I wouldn't want him to, more so he hasn't shown up in anything in the last, 10? 20 years? And also I'm not sure how villainous of a guy he is...? Cap's in the cover so I can only assume the two of them are gonna have something going on (maybe it's gonna touch on that one annual they have?) but frankly I haven't got a clue.
Also, it's pretty obvious this Citizen V is purple rather than blue. In the original run it worked like a charm to differentiate Zemo (purple) from Watkins (blue) but when the Fisk-hired Tbolts showed up in that one Punisher comic Zemo was wearing the mask again and he was blue so really it's anyone's guess if Marvel's sticking by that rule.
And if it turns out to be Zemo-
I mean I guess I wouldn't be against it but also I'm expecting an Abe Jenkins wrapped up with a neat little bow on my desk by tomorrow.
Seriously though if Helmut - whose decapitated body was shown in One World Under Doom - can come back so can the one guy whose body they never bothered showing in the first place. Alright Abe Jenkins quota has been met, where was I?
Zemo. And if it's not Zemo either and it turns up to be some rando, then the Citizen V mantle is officially as dead as the Thunderbolts title is. Having the Contessa wearing it for Doomstrike with zero context was bad enough, I don't think it can survive another hit.
Oh also Blizzard is there but I'm not really sure how Thunderbolt-y of a character he REALLY is...? With two other Tbolts in the story you'd think he's gonna have something of that sort going on but I also wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. I'd actually like it if Donnie started grappling with redemption again. Given his softer nature, I think it could be interesting.
Aaaaaaaand that's most of my thoughts wrapped up. I'm really just grasping at straws trying to understand what's gonna happen to the OGs at this point. But what are your thoughts on the matter?

its so grotesque when you think about it. the whole aliea thing.. how theres this fake alien hierarchy built on the bones of kids who were just looking for belonging. its not even about soccer anymore. its about control, about how power eats you from the inside out until you cant remember what you were trying to prove in the first place.
these werent villains.. these were orphans. kids who got promised purpose and got fed obedience instead. they were told to be strong, to be chosen, to be perfect. but the aliea stone didnt give them strength. it hollowed them out and called the echo "power"
fudou, kazemaru, sakuma, genda.. they all tried so hard to hold onto something that was already slipping away. fudou wanted control so badly he forgot softness was its own kind of strength. kazemaru thought loyalty meant sacrifice, even if it meant betraying himself. sakuma pushed his body past breaking because pain started feeling like proof. and genda followed because he couldnt stand being left behind, because the world tells you weakness is a sin when youre just scared.
the hierarchy makes me sick. the way it divides them, ranks them, turns friendship into a ladder. youre not teammates anymore!! youre stepping stones. youre resources. youre proof of who deserves love and who doesnt.
and the cruelest part? they start believing it. they start thinking theyre less if they cant keep up. that dumbass stone and hell of a man seijirou was didnt just brainwash them, it rewired what they thought worth looked like!!
its disgusting and tragic and honestly beautiful in how it shows the cost of wanting to be seen. because thats all they wanted. to matter. to be chosen. and the system took that and twisted it into worshipping power.
and i think thats why it hurts so much to watch. because its not just about a team being evil. its about what happens when you tell people that strength is the only way to deserve love.
the aliea arc was never just about soccer. (this franchise has never even been all about soccer even I'm all for it) it was about what happens when children are told to become gods before they even learn how to be human.
Adding onto this to say, the games (and if I remember correctly the anime has this scene as well but Senguuji is preeetty watered down in it so I'll mostly be quoting IE2) make it crystal clear that the hierarchy has a purpose.
There's this scene where he's talking to (insert his Jap name I forgor), explaining to him why he lets Hiroto, Burn and Gazel fight over the Genesis title.
He compares to children to venomous snakes, and he asks him, "how does one extract the strongest venom?"
I can't exactly quote it word for word (it's been a while and I really don't remember at what point of the story it was, should've been a cutscene it'd have made my job easier 😒), but the gist of his explanation is this: to pit the snakes against one another, have them take one another out and the one snake that survives will be the one with the strongest venom.
The entire point of Aliea's structure is to ween out the weaker links until only the strongest team prevails. That's why Sagimuna gleefully exiles Reize after his first loss (and in the games he gets his memories wiped and is abandoned in the streets of Kyoto, which the anime didn't pick up probably because of how dark the whole ordeal is), and that's why Burn and Gazel are consumed with jealousy when Gran is picked over them. Not to mention that in the games Senguuji plans to sell Genesis to the government as living weapons, which then becomes the whole point of the match against Raimon.
...which is exactly why it annoys me that IE3/S3 doesn't really address any of this??? The ex-Aliea kids treat each other as old rivals as if their only purpose in life wasn't killing each other until like a couple of months before.
Inspired by a friend of mine crashing out because the latest trailer didn't show a Fudou kid
✨Fudou fankids✨, from the Inazuma Eleven fankids AU I came up with when I was like 7
But with designs that don't suck.
Also I decided that Hakuryuu gets adopted after Galaxy, don't @ me. From left to right, Fudou Masuyo, Fudou Hakuryuu and Fudou Kuronome. I feel their mom is kinda obvious, and the picture would be set at Victory Road times.
There's actually kiiiind of a story behind them (+ a Gouenji fankid too), might post more of them eventually...?
whatever you do don't think about aeneas mourning anchises at the end of book 3 of the aeneid
imagine for a second. this man has been recounting to you the worst years of his life- the war he fought, the loved ones he lost, the journey he's been forced to make, not because he wants to but because he's the only one left to care for his people- all of these horrible things before he's washed up on your shore. and then he tells you, how at the end of it all, his father died. the man who got him through all of this misery and sorrow, suddenly gone, and now he must guide his people alone. and he tells you, in agony, nobody warned me. nobody told me this was going to happen. how was i to know that someday he too would be taken from me.
it almost seems absurd if you think about it for a bit; anchises was old and in poor health, of course he was going to die someday sooner rather than later. but how was aeneas supposed to ever think about this possibility, with all the other things he has to worry about? how was he supposed to take the time to remember that someday he would have to bear this burden alone? and in this moment of public tragedy, he shares with us this private grief. it's not fair that you left me. how am i supposed to go on without you. why did nobody tell me you would die.
One like and I change my pfp into this
