This is so adorable. ASDFGHJKLSDF
Yo I'm Naruto 'ttebayo and to fulfill an anon's request, who do you think is the most handsome guy in school? And who's more handsome, me or the new guy, Kiba?
"I haven’t had the pleasure to meet, Kiba-kun. Maybe if you have a picture of him, I’ll decide who’s the most handsome."

❧ in fear and faith // Äs + Masaki
Äs already knew of the poor structural state the arrancar were in, and somewhat of the shinobi wandering about, but not yet of the latter’s powers. If they were as strong as Masaki claimed, Äs and the other Sternritter needed to have at least one ally from their side when the inevitable war rang out on Iwakiri’s grounds. More than that, they needed to find out more about the sealed beast. If it could be wielded, all the better. And if the headmaster could gather all these people together under one proverbial roof, Äs had no doubt it had significant power of its own.
“I was expecting you to be older. The daten said you were a grown woman,” Äs mused. The greyfaces, as she said, had already told her the truth, but it was apparent she was refusing to believe it. So, if she were pulled from an earlier point in time, the Wandenreich could possibly shift the future to their hands. However, it was hard to tell if manipulating the fabric of time would prove beneficial in the long run, or if it would turn out to be a disservice.
This was truly intriguing. “Before you arrived, what do you remember?” Äs inquired. They didn’t mean for this to become an impromptu interview or interrogation, but finding out where she came from in the past was a start.
"Well, it was like any other day. I came back from the Holy training, and the maids served up a delicious meal for us. It was shrimp gratin and I almost ate Ryuu-chan's meal by myself. Auntie had gotten angry with me since I told here that I was doing well little by little. Like she always does, Auntie told me that all my predecessors died, my parents, and I had no siblings. And that I was the last one of the Kurosaki Family. After dinner, I left to my room and then that's when I felt powerful Reiatsu getting closer and closer to us. One of a Hollow, and I think of a Shinigami. I confront Ryuu-chan and told him what I had to say. When I went outside, there was a mysterious aura behind me. And when I turned around, it turned into a portal."
"At first I was hesitate about entering, though recalling Auntie's words again. I went inside and ended up here. It seem like a childish action, running away from everything. Though,I couldn't take it anymore. I miss Ryuu-chan a lot, and everyone else. But, now I hope they'll find their way to the academy like I did. So we can all be together." Masaki was somewhat interested in this daten they used, though saying that she was a grown woman was false information. Maybe it was broken, and they needed to fix it. She wouldn't want to say it to her fellow Quincy, he'll probably say that nothing was wrong with it.
Or maybe there was something more to the matter. "Does this daten have any information on Ishida Ryuuken, or his mother. Perhaps, Ishida Soken? If it's possible, I would like to know any information they have on them."
Fortissimo (Shika/Masaki)
Masaki was the second person to mention the deer-populated city. He dropped his hand from the keys and turned a little more towards her, interest piqued. ”Nara, isn’t it? My roommate told me about that. He thought I was joking when I told him my name was Nara and I took care of deer.” The Nara clan owned a forest and a library in the mountains—having a city in their name was a bit too much to think about.
It was certainly intriguing to hear about it again, however. Maybe he could make some travel arrangements, but then again, the headmaster made it very clear that leaving was not an option. Though, if Iwakiri was on the same plane as where Masaki and Keigo were from, generally speaking, he could find a way there. He’d see if some others wanted to go, too.
"So what’s the difference between Quincy and Shinigami?" he asked. He could tell that the two didn’t have a very amicable relationship, but had little clue on why there was such a rift when fundamentally, they were both against Hollows and Arrancars.
When she assumed he was a powerful shinobi, Shikamaru ardently shook his head in denial. “Jiraiya-sensei is a legend. I’m nowhere near his level. He and the Hokage, Tsunade-sama, are both legendary sannin.” There was Orochimaru, too, but he wasn’t here luckily. Besides, he didn’t want to creep Masaki out, especially when their conversation was going pleasantly.
"Ah, Nara! That's what it's called! Just like your last name, I should have remembered. There's also this big wooden temple and there's more deer in the gardens. I'm sure your clan would like to know that they be surprised to know that there's a city after the clan." Masaki chuckled, remembering that she wanted to keep a deer and bring it back to their house. Maybe a trip to the forest, she'll be able to find a couple; Shikamaru could tag along to help her feed them.
"Shinigami are known as Balancers, they kill Hollows who do evil in the World of the Living, they help souls have a safe passing to the afterlife. They don't age like humans do, so they could be more then 1,000 years old. And they have these swords called Zanpakuto, which each of them have a special ability. Each Zanpakuto differs, since it generates from their soul, or that's what I heard. Auntie doesn't really explain much about them; To us, they are our enemies. I don't want you to think differently of them, Shikamaru. Though, they massacred most of our kind, including my parents."
"Then Quincy, we are human mediums. Able to see Hollows, Arrancars, and other spiritual beings. Our powers are much different from the Shinigami, we collect Reishi, which is spirit particles. Archery, Ginto, which are tubes that hold our spiritual power, Hirenkyaku, is an advanced movement technique that allows us to move at high speeds. And Blut, is another advance Quincy technique that we use. It has two variations, the first one is inhuman durability, and the other one is inhuman attack power. Being a Pure-blooded Quincy, I get obtain it naturally. Though someone who is mixed-blooded, they have to learn it through training. Which I heard, is very difficult."
"Sorry for sounding so serious when I was explaining to you, Shikamaru." She replied, changing her tone quickly once finishing the explanation of each race. "Hokage? Sannin? What's that? Ah, Tsunade-sama. I've seen her a couple of times around the academy and in the swimsuit contest. Is it true that she has incredible strength? I've heard rumors that she could cause earthquakes to happen or something like that."
"You can throw a hundred men at a dragon, and the dragon will be no worse for wear," he explained, sussing out whether or not she truly doubted their strength, or she was playing the fool. He decided to settle on the former, as she hadn’t exactly partnered with the Shinigami yet. In time she might, but not while he kept an eye on things. "Don’t worry about training, swing by my dorm anytime and if I’m home I’ll take you around to the archery range and show you a few tricks." He could show her a few things in private, too, but that might incur Yhwach’s wrath.
Bursting out laughing, he nodded in approval. “Sure, you can be Stern Ritter ‘I’. Our current placeholder is a dickbag anyway, at least we can replace him with a pretty face. What would it stand for, though? I’m ‘H’, the Heat, and our current ‘I’ is Iron— if you’re going to nab a letter, you had best impress me with your title.” She’d never claim a letter as her own, not so long as there was a Stern Ritter to take the mantle. No harm in letting her think she could, though. Illusions of grandeur helped with recruiting.
Their wrath was great, fueled by each year that passed by ever since the bloody massacre of the Quincy. The remaining Quincies left had hatred and were passed on by each generation until they had a plan to take revenge to the Shinigami. Of course, she heard that Soken-sama tried to make amends with the Shinigami, though they were denied. Masaki couldn't understand why they never accepted the proposal he came up with. "I understand. The Quincy blood runs through my veins, and as one of the few Pure-bloods left, I must do what I can." She confessed, or something that would sound like music in Bazz B's ears. "I'll drop by next week! It's been pretty busy in the cafe ever since this cold weather has come. Or I could just give you my number, so we can text or call each other."
Sure, Bazz B could be a little harsh when he talked about destroying the Shinigami, though he did have a way of complimenting Masaki. A blush smeared across her face as he recalled that she had a pretty face, "Heh? You really think I have a pretty face, Senpai?" Hm, what kind of cool title would start with the letter 'I'? "What about Ice? Icy? Ivy? Illusion? Those are the ones that I can come up right now... What do you think, Senpai. The Stern Ritter ‘I’ does have a pretty cool name, if his is after the word 'Iron', Meaning the his body could be indestructible? That's kind of hard to compete against."
Fortissimo (Shika/Masaki)
So he was right. Well, he was usually right so that wasn’t much of a surprise. “More pianos? Hm, your teacher sounds like a few people I know,” he murmured. Like his dad.
"Nothing like this," he admitted, pressing down keys one by one. "If you’re a civilian, you go to school a while then help your parents with their businesses if they have one. But shinobi learn more. On top of taking care of deer—that’s what my clan does—I also was taught my clan’s techniques. The academy we have to attend teaches us how to manipulate chakra, how to fight in hand-to-hand combat, and how to survive in the wild. Basically."
Shikamaru exhaled. Thinking back on the academy days when he was younger was bittersweet. They had all been so hopeful then. He thought it would be fun and exciting, not a ton of work and pain. “It’s really troublesome. Either you’re running between countries, or you’re filling out paperwork, or coordinating exams. I didn’t think I was cut out to be a shinobi at first. Sometimes I still feel that way. But I do it to protect my friends.”
He looked over at her. “It’s not too bad, I guess. It keeps you busy, and the pay isn’t so bad, either. A little better than what I get working at the movie theatre,” he chuckled.
"Yeah, he was a serious person. He came all the way from another country to tutor me and my friend." Just the sound of his screaming voice wasn't missed. Maybe Iwakiri could reject him if he tries to become a music teacher here.
"Taking care of deers? That's pretty cute, I find deers to be gentle creatures and very friendly too. I remember when I was little that my parents took me to this city where deers roamed free and we were able to feed them as well. I was a little scared at first, though seeing that my father could do it, I had to prove that I was brave like him too. It was the funniest experience that I had with my family, the last one to be honest. Your clan must be pretty strong then," Masaki replied, flashing a smile towards Shikamaru.
"I suppose chakra is the source of your powers, it sounds like it. Though your world doesn't seem different from mines, and some ways. If you are born as a regular human, it'll be pretty boring. Though when you could see things like Shinigami and Hollow - it's a different story. At the same time, it could be good or bad. Since I'm a human with Quincy powers, I had to learn the history of heritage and also learn how to use the powers that I was born with. It's a little tough, and I'm still learning. But, I hope one day I could become a powerful Quincy. Then I could save people that are defenseless against Hollows."
....
"You must be a high-ranked shinobi, am I correct? I was shown first hand of the powers that Jiraiya-sensei had. He used a blue sphere, that looked pretty cool and powerful, then I realized that he was a powerful shinobi."
Oh Sensei, teach me please! @ Masaki
It was funny how they had got into this conversation from a simple truth or dare question. Ino was currently perched on the edge of a seat, watching the way the light from the window caught Masaki’s bright hair and eyes. She had big, big eyes- they were full of light and made the entire room seem a little dull in comparison. Like a bright, cheerful marigold. Naruto would definitely get along with this girl— actually, Ino was also getting along very well with this girl. They had easily switched topics between kisses to who their betrothed were. Ino was surprised to hear that Masaki was also engaged to a friend.
“Just like Itachi, huh…” she mused, tilting her head in thought. She blinked out of her reverie and nodded. “Yeah, we do. A lot of parents arrange weddings between shinobi- particularly those too busy to search for a suitable partner for themselves. It was done pretty often within previous generations, but I think my generation has entered an era of stability and we are a little more able to search for our own partners. Well… I would definitely choose my own.”
She was very determined to let Masaki know this. “A parent can choose the best person for you- but only you know your soul mate. I think it’s important to experience true love.”
Ino knew the advice she was dishing out was personal – even a little controversial, but that was what love was. It was a personal feeling and different for everyone. What was perfectly fine for a shinobi could be controversial for a quincy.
“I think… I think that while it is noble to try and keep your bloodline pure and save it from dying out… it’s best for the next generation if you keep your soul purer.”
You could only do that if you truly and deeply fell in love with someone, regardless of bloodline. And that type of love could be arranged- for Masaki’s betrothed could be her soul mate too… but it was best to search yourself.
“Imagine how good it would be, to always be excited about life and your day? To me… the most important ability is not to have fancy eyes or mind reading powers… it’s the ability to love others, and yourself.”
Because manufacturing and manipulating genes and abilities in your offspring was okay, but it was not the most important thing. Besides, who said someone born without such bloodline techniques wouldn’t be just as brilliant- if not more?
…
"At least your hair is easier to figure out. Grow it, and if you don’t like it, then you can always cut it off."
"It's rough when you're engaged to someone that you don't know, I was lucky enough to know the person I'm suppose to marry, though to be honest - I don't think that I would ever see Ryuu-chan as more than a friend. In my darkest moment, he was there to make me feel better and it's suppose to sound romantic and what not, though I just think that we are meant to be close friends. Maybe he feels the same way because his mother forces the idea on him. He must be feeling lonely too."
The Quincy would never stop hoping that Ryuken would find his way here, if Ino and her friends found out a way to come to this academy, it must be the same for the people in the world that Masaki came from. "You have the ability to read people's mind?!" She exclaimed, getting out of her daze. Just like Jiraiya-sensei, she had some sort of cool powers. "That's amazing, I wish I had those types of powers before I went to live with Auntie, I could have said the right things so she wouldn't get mad at me."
"I suppose I understand a little more about the powers that shinobi have, I heard that one of the teachers could rupture the very ground, and literally break your bones. It seems a little skeptical at first, though I shouldn't be doubting some of the rumors that are spread around this academy. There's a lot of things that I've seen at Iwakiri to make me believe anything, it's a strange place though I've grown to like it a lot. It's like a second home to me."
Rubbing the tips of her hair with her fingertips, Masaki thought it would be a good idea to grow out her hair, when she was younger, her locks were as long as Ino's.
"By the way, Ino-san ...I don't mean to pry into your love life, though are you in love with Itachi-san? I can't help to notice sometimes you look at with a certain look."
❧ in fear and faith // Äs + Masaki
Äs, like many others, was skeptical about Uryuu’s sudden introduction and even more so the rank he received over everyone else. He didn’t seen to go out of his way to interact with the other Sternritter, nor had any one of them seen his powers manifest. Until they could gauge with their own eyes how he’d earned such a prestigious title, Äs could not speak unkindly of their comrade. “Ishida Uryuu is… valued by His Majesty,” Äs said coolly.
A simple shake of the head assured Masaki that her presence would not be dissuaded. Äs could understand feeling more comfortable with those of the same heritage. Of course, that didn’t mean Äs would treat her differently than anyone else (anyone that wasn’t a Shinigami, that was).
Dark eyes glanced over the menu in Masaki’s hands. “I’m not feeling particularly peckish, though might take something to go,” Äs said without hint of promise. “You’ve been here longer, so tell me: what have you learned so far about this place?” As the sole Quincy on campus until the Wandenreich members arrived, Masaki no doubt felt out of sorts with her surroundings. If they could, they would make sure she was a sure member of their efforts by the end of this meeting.
"What I learned about this place..." There were a lot of strange things that had happened to Masaki when she had arrived here, things that were strange later turned out to be normal for her. Where could she begin at, and how would Äs react to all those things. Masaki hadn't mentioned to Bazz B that she had befriended a couple of Hollows, that would anger him greatly and would change the way he looked at her. Telling them such a thing would bring shame to the Kurosaki Family, and to herself as well. Normally, she didn't care about the aftermath when it involved her. --But, her parents and her relatives were a different story.
"To start with, there's other people, I mean ninjas from another world. And, they are very strong. I haven't actually battled or sparred with one of them, but one of my teacher show me one of his abilities and it was unbelievably strong. Also, it seems the Hollows, or I suppose Arrancars' leader isn't around. So, they are doing whatever they please to do. Also that one of the students here has like a beast sealed inside of him, but those were just rumors I heard."
....
"It may sound shocking, though the Headmaster has powers which happen out of nowhere. Before you or the other Quincy arrived here, I was transferred to an unknown location and randomly married to a stranger. Ah, there's one more thing. Ever since I've arrived here, there's been a couple of grey-faces that have told me that I was someone's mother. It does sound pretty weird, considering that I've never had a boyfriend before. Or remember getting married."

The idea that she could number among the Sternritter was already childish, but to place herself as one of the top three? She’d be a suitable replacement for Ishida, but Yhwach and Jugo could crush her without so much as moving a muscle. He joined in on the joke with a a forced laugh. though. Her ignorance could be taken as endearing. As a Quincy, she had a lot to learn. “How about we see if you can hit a target, then we’ll aim for a rank.” ‘Y’ had opened up, admittedly. That was pretty low, although Giselle might try to move up a bit.
Noting the frown, he listened to her plea with a darkening stare. Nothing he had said was short of everyday banter among the troops. He might as well have suggested running out to get some milk. The Shinigami and Hollows were going to die, and it was going to be painful for every second of burning flesh. There was no sugarcoating it, nor a more delightful truth. So why was she so unhappy?
"Actions speak louder than words, Kouhai. Our own massacre is history, no point denying it ever happened. The next one is unavoidable too, only this time it’ll be red staining black, not white. Leave it to us if you don’t have the stomach for it."
"It's not that I don't have the stomach for it...!" What could she possibly she after this, Masaki had been somewhat alone until they showed up and now they had plans to eliminate all the Hollows and Shinigami here. "I'm not afraid, Senpai. The only thing that bothers me is that were quite short in numbers and they outnumber us greatly. Adding both the Shinigami and Hollows to account." Good, she just had to play this part until that day would actually occur, he didn't seem like he was joking around nor she didn't want to get in his bad side either. Despite, the Quincy hated to speak this way, it had to be done until she could figure something out. "I'll join you. It's my duty as Quincy, the only favor that I have to ask from you is to teach me to improve my powers. With you skills, I know that I'll become a better Quincy."
"Whaaaaat?! Why would I be such a low rank that's not fair, Senpai." She changed her serious tone hoping that the atmosphere between them would change. Masaki did enjoy talking to him, if he wasn't talking about killing the Shinigami and Hollows, Bazz was a good person to chatter with and he was kind to her as well. Maybe it was because she was a Quincy, if she was a Shinigami it would be another story. "I shouldn't be in the top letters, maybe I was being too selfish by giving myself the higher ranks. What about being 'I'? I would only behind you in strength and you'll still be my senpai."
