cyrus-hayes:
“Ah..” Cyrus said tilted his head to the side for a moment to try and digest that little bit of information. “It’s very simple. Stick to the weather or current events.” He slipped his shirt on, “You didn’t have to engage in a conversation. Casual or otherwise. Just agreeing to one of my requests was enough of an acknowledgement. There was no further obligation.”
Quinn was never going to be the type to want to talk much and in that moment he felt even less like talking. The other guy said it all so what was he gonna offer other then just agreeing or restating things. That would have been an utter waste. “ Fair point” He replied as he started to break away to start his own work out.
addisonxvale:
“Probably easier too when they realize you’re not a fucking pushover, right?” Addison nudged his arm as if to prove her point, “yeah, but then you’d be that guy. You know, who only hangs out with his girlfriend and you’d never actually make any other friends that way. “Besides, didn’t you just move in? Cohabitation is great and all until someone uses the wrong toothbrush or asks to borrow your razor.” She made a face before rolling her eyes, “well, duh, you should try it, though, maybe even throw in a smile while you’re at it.”
“ Yeah well not one when I have to be. I do agree to a lot of stuff when it comes to you Addison. “ He laughed before grumbling a bit at her next comment. “ I don’t hang out with people in general usually. What makes hanging out with one or two people any different? I doubt that will ever happen. “ He laughed again He didn’t see how him and Aalis would make those sort of mistakes since they were so different but complimentary. “ Yeah but then it would be a fake smile”
claire-ofdavenport:
“That’s an unfortunate quirk. I can only imagine the trouble you’ve can across in your time.” Claire commented. She didn’t want to carry this melancholy tone with her this whole night it would only make things worse for her in the long run. Apollo and Artemis would definitely sense it too. She didn’t want to worry them. “But then again what’s a little trouble? It makes life more interesting.”
“Tell me about it. That damn conscience of mine gets me into trouble” It also had got him his girlfriend if he really thought about it, but that would require more explaining and he didn’t do stuff like that usually. “ Sounds like you like a little trouble? Is this why you stand around outside late at night?”
cyrus-hayes:
Cyrus had to chuckle at the other’s response. He wasn’t sure if the other man was uncomfortable with the nudity in general or being this close to a half dressed man. But either way it was adorably puritan appearing. “Oh yeah? Why’s that mate?” Waiting for him to move out of the way before he went to his clothing. “Skin is skin. Nothing all that scandalous about two men not wearing shirts.”
“It’s not the nudity” Quinn replied shaking his head at the other mans comment. After all he spent most of his time when he was younger being in his animal form so clothes were just sort or a formality at times for him. It was the fact he just wasn’t a very social or casual person. “ I’m just not a very casual conversation person and this is casual”
claire-ofdavenport:
Claire heard the faint footsteps of another approaching her. As she turned her head she heard the question “You okay?” A wave of emotion overcame her. She wanted to say yes per usual, but knew that wasn’t the case. That small question made her want to fall to her knees and cry. She wasn’t okay and knew there wasn’t a simple fix to get back to okay. So much had happened over the last year she barely had time to process. “Yes I am. Did you need something?”
Quinn watched the petite blonde for a moment, and could tell that maybe the choice of words he had used may not have been the best, despite the fact he barely said anything ever. “No, I’m good. I just have a tendency to walk in on other people’s moments”
shira-rosen:
“Yes? No? I thought you looked familiar, but I guess I was wrong?” Shira said laughingly. She linked her fingers together in front of her, and looked up at him apologetically. “Sorry.” She blushed, biting her lip as she also bit back panic. Had her mind tricked her? Had she forgotten something else?
“I don’t know many people, so I think I would have remembered you if we met” Quinn replied, feeling a little bad he made the situation awkward. “ It’s fine. Must have one of those faces”
beatrix-tremblay-oakes:
“Enough that I’d like to think I become quite famous at some point, either that or I’m buried next to a famous person who gets a lot of visitors,” Beatrix joked. She wasn’t sure where the phrase came from, it’s just one she had heard growing up in England that she had naturally adopted without even realising. “That at least sounds more fun than my body being susceptible to changes in temperature.”
“ Must be a pretty popular place to be dead” Quinn nodded as he glanced over to her, giving a half smile.. “ You mean it’s not that much fun to say what you really mean?”
addisonxvale:
“Don’t worry, maybe you’ll get there eventually but, just in case you don’t–– I don’t mind you being an asshole. After all,” she snickered, “what would you do without your only friend?” Obviously not the case but Addison found it easy to be sarcastic around Quinn, mostly because he didn’t seem to mind or take her too seriously.
“ Well I got plenty of time to work on that at work. It might make throwing guys out of a bar more constructive work” Quinn replied shaking his head. “ Probably never leave Aalis’ apartment” He was about to say his apartment, but he still was working on the semantics now that he had moved. “ It’s not like I go out trying to talk to others”
claire-ofdavenport:
Claire’s anxiety had shot through the roof. She had been up all night reading various texts trying to find anything about the Ouroboros. There has to be some record of them in history whether they went by that name or other. She just needed to clear her head too many thoughts invaded her mind. Not realizing the time she stepped out for some fresh night air.
Quinn really had pulled a late night at the bar and club but he was trying his best to get home before Aalis was too asleep. It was still weird living with someone else and he was trying to get the hang of it. He had been lost in thought for a moment when he noticed a rather petite young woman standing outside by herself. He could tell from her features that she was probably one of the many Davenport women, but that didn’t mean he was going to just walk by at the peculiar sight. “ You okay?” He asked, still not one to be wordy.
shira-rosen:
“Last minute? Yes, maybe. But you’re invited over to mine for Shabbat dinner! Seven o’clock! Text me with any questions, okay? Do you have my number? I just have to run. Got my challah in the oven! You’ll come, right? I’m trying to make it a weekly thing.” Shira pressed a hand to the other’s elbow, smiling hopefully.
“ I have a lot of questions?” Quinn replied raising a brow. He considered having a good memory but he didn’t recall knowing the woman standing in front of him. Part of him wanted to just take the invite and bring home food for him and Aalis, but he wasn’t a complete jerk. “ Do we know eachother?” He asked
beatrix-tremblay-oakes:
As the blonde man asked the question Bea dropped her hand from the back of her neck, letting her hair once more cover up her tattoo. “Depends on how good the tea is here,” Beatrix replied with a friendly smile. She seemed more relaxed from a few seconds ago, but her eyes still darted around the shop. It was doubtful there was any serious or dark black magic happening in the small shop, but Bea had learned to err on the side of caution when it came to the dark arts. “Just got that weird shivery feeling, like someone walked over my grave,” Bea continued, giving a reasonable excuse as to why she weirded out a little.
Quinn was not one of the most talkative people and it showed in how he talked to others. He might say something to initiate it but beyond that he had a tendency to not know what to say. Now was no exception. He nodded his head at her answer, but raised a brow considering her actions seemed different then her words. “ Do people walk over your grave often?” He smirked as he looked at the her again. He really wasn’t familiar with the phrase but he wasn’t completely dense despite his lack of education
beatrix-tremblay-oakes:
Despite the late hour, the coffee shop was still rather busy. Numerous people looking for their last hit of caffeine of the day so they could do whatever jobs and chores awaited them at home before they were able to collapse into bed. Stood to one side Bea was waiting patiently for her tea when she felt a familiar burning on the back of her neck. Her hand went to tattoo, momentarily revealing the circle that had been hidden by her hair. Looking around the shop Bea hunting for the culprit, for the witch doing black magic. They had to be near for Beatrix’s tattoo to be burning.
Quinn was just a shapeshifter, he didn’t have a bunch of special skills that would help him but he had spent the last ten years avoiding people and watching them. He knew how to pick up on basic human emotions and noticed out of the corner of his eye that someone was stressed out. If it had been two years ago Quinn would have walked away and avoided others, but now he had too much a bleeding heart. It was why he walked over to the person that had been waiting in the same area as him. “You okay? “
on-pointe-disaster:
Aalis didn’t answer what he said directly, instead moving her finger tips down the back of his neck, feeling how tense his muscles were. “You’re tense,” she murmured and she leaned his, her lips brushing against his for the briefest of moments her voice barely above a whisper as she began to speak again, “Shall I help you relax?” Aalis pressed her lips more fully to his, wanting to feel him relax more.
Tense was a nice way of putting how Quinn was feeling. He wasn’t an open person so opening up to the person he wanted to be with forever was a nearly impossible thing to do, despite how much he wanted it. He grumbled at her comment before leaning in to kiss her back. “ Why do you want to know where I’ve been?” He muttered before kissing her again. She knew so much about him already, why was the last decade of his life making him concerned?
addisonxvale:
“Yeah, maybe glasses are in order because, c’mon, that’s a huge ass sign. We even had the stall next door complain it was blocking some of their counter space because it spills over. But I guess everyone’s missed something here–– it’s a maze some days.” If she didn’t know where she wanted to get to, Addison could easily wander the Frey for hours on end and never pass the same stall twice, it was that vast. “Everything’s nicer than what you would say, Quinn, I’m basically a fucking saint next to you. Don’t you see my halo?”
“What’s that thing about missing what’s right in front of you?” Quinn shrugged. He would never call himself book smart so he wasn’t sure he was grasping that statement correctly. That and he wasn’t that invested once the person left and they were no longer in their space. He raised a brow at her comment about his own attitude. She got him there. “ I’ve gotten better. I don’t just tell people how annoyed I am lately, but yes the halo is always yours when were together”
