So I got this idea from @quirk-registration-office on their post about if the Todoroki Family was happy and I just had to write it!
Ever since I can remember, game nights we're a normal thing in my home. After all the training, homework, hero work and dinner is done we have game night.
Game nights, you would usually think, consist of families or friends getting together and playing board or video games. But for us, game night is a little....different.
In total, they're are six of us.
There's my dad, Enji Todoroki, He's also known as Endevour. He has a fire quirk
Then, there's my mom, Rei Todoroki. She has an ice quirk.
My dad wanted to have a child with the "perfect" quirk and forced my mom to marry him. However, after a few weeks of dating, my dad had a change of heart. He actually fell in love with my mom, not just for her quirk. My dad told her that she didn't have to be with him anymore, but for some reason my mom stayed. My dad and my mom have been together ever since.
And then they had us for some stupid reason.
Touya Todoroki is the oldest! He's 14 and is attending U.A. high School next year! He's gonna be a hero one day! Touya has a fire quirk like dad!
Fuyumi is the second oldest! She's 12! Her quirk is like mom's! She has ice powers!
Natsuo is a bit older than me! He's 9 and has an ice quirk as well!
And then that leaves me! I'm Shoto Todoroki and I'm 6 years old! I'm gonna be a hero one day too! Just like dad and Touya!
Touya, Fuyumi, Natsuo and I were in the living room when are parents came in. I noticed a coin in my mom's hand. Oh boy. Here we freaking go I guess.
"Time for game night, kids!" My mom smiled as dad picked up Touya and brought him to the other side of the room.
"Dad! Put me down I'm too old for this!" Touya groaned.
The rest of us giggled as Touya pouted and crossed his arms, now standing.
Natsuo and Fuyumi started pushing the furniture to one wall, making more room for what the heck is about to happen to this family.
"Okay! Shoto, come over here sweetie." My mom called me over to her.
"FLIP THE COIN, FLIP THE COIN!"
Touya started yelling, Natsuo and Fuyumi joining in too.
"Heads is fire, tails is ice, Okay?"
My mom told me. I already knew that, but whatever.
I grabbed the coin and waited.
Mom, Natsuo and Fuyumi were cheering for ice, while dad and Touya were cheering for fire on the other side of the living room.
I flipped the coin and everyone went silent.
Dad and Touya cheer as I run over to them.
"Everyone knows the rules, right? Shoto?" My mother asked us.
"Yes mom! I'm six not dumb!" I say sarcastically while Touya laughs next to me.
The rules are as followed:
•Two teams, one fire and one ice, go up against eachother.
•the first ones to bail are the losers
•if you get knocked or pushed out of the room you are out.
•if someone hits you with their quirk you're out.
(They're are exceptions to this such as if everything is covered in ice. That's more of an offensive move to make the opponent slip)
•if you actually hurt someone with you're quirk you're out
•if you use the other teams abilities to your advantage you are out
(that rule is actually more for me than anyone else)
"Alright!" My dad called.
"Everyone ready!? On your mark, get set, go!" My dad finally yelled and immediately the room is covered in ice.
"WASNT THERE A RULE AGAINST THAT!?" My brother yelled as he started melting the ice so he could run again.
"All's fair in love in war, dear brother." Fuyumi smirked.
This went on for a while.
Natsuo got pushed out of the room by Touya, Mom got dad frozen all the way to his neck in less than two seconds and then.....
Fuyumi came up behind me and out of instinct I used my ice and hit her with it.
"Shoto's out!" She called as I stood there stunned for a second.
"Where did you learn that language?!" My mom yelled at me but was distracted and got hit by Touya.
Mom yelped and froze her arm.
"Mom's out!" Touya yelled.
"Touya taught me that word!" I laughed.
"TOUYA!" She yelled even louder as he laughed.
Then mom sat with the rest of us right outside the living room.
"He's lucky that I don't ground him." She muttered.
All that was left was Fuyumi and Touya.
We were all cheering for our collective side as they fought.
All of a sudden the both stopped. Touya looked at her arm and saw a burn.
"That's a burn mark! I hit her!" Touya yelled.
All of a sudden she hit him with her ice. "It's an Ice burn, Touya! I win!" She glared.
"Wait really?" I asked, actually confused.
"Hold on." My dad got up and went over to Fuyumi while my brother melted himself free from the ice Fuyumi set him in.
"Yeah, that's an Ice burn. Ice wins!" My dad exclaimed and held up Fuyumi's arm.
Me and Touya both groaned but congratulated them.
Now, you might be thinking: "Shoto! Wouldn't it hurt if you burn someone?"
Actually, no. Either we have the fire quirk and are used to burns, or our skin is so cold because we have an ice quirk that it doesn't affect us that much.
After that was done we helped melt the ice and put out the fires, put the furniture back and made sure it wasn't on fire. And then we just chilled out until it was bedtime.
My family is really crazy. We drive eachother mad and sometimes it gets difficult since we are all so different. They're are literally two sides to the family and they are complete opposites. But, opposites attract and I'm living proof that's true. Fire and ice can come together and create something right in between.
And that something is me.
But sometimes I wonder, what if they didn't get along? What if my parents didn't attract? I wonder, what if fire and ice never get along? What if it was like a real battle every night instead of just a game we play?
I guess we'll never know.
