Getting Focused
I won’t lie, I made this blog to motivate myself to take better notes, study more often, and work a little harder... but when I log on, I often find myself scrolling through my dash for hours upon hours rather than finding the inspiration to unplug. Now that all of my classes are online due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever for me to get focused... but how?
There’s one saving grace that makes working harder feel so much easier: Flora! I absolutely love this app, I couldn’t get through the long nights of revision or the days when my head feels clouded without it. The timer forces me to jump in and get started on my work, which is always the hardest part for me— once I gain momentum, it’s easy to keep going!
The concept of the app is that every time you start a timer, you’re planting a seed— if you stay focused for the duration of the timer, the tree will grow and you can start a garden! If you lose focus, open other apps, etc., the tree dies. This is such a great motivator because nobody wants to kill a cute little cartoon tree! Unfortunately when I got my new phone I found myself locked out of my old Flora account and had to start anew, but that’s all the more motivation to work hard :-)
Plus, if the cute concept of growing your own little orchard isn’t enough, you can actually put money on the line! If you lose focus, that money goes towards planting REAL trees— and if you maintain focus, you get a reward! So it’s a win-win!
Try it for yourself right here, I promise you won’t regret it!

hey y'all, like/reblog if you like these ig 🙃
honestly richie using the term "sloppy bitch" and taking a shot without his hands was enough conformation to me that richie tozier is, in fact, a gay man
wow...i really have all this love in my heart huh... so much to love to give...and i waste it on a horror novel from the 80s written by a man who had coke for breakfast lunch and dinner
richie really stood in a dark corner of the losers’ clubhouse and said “you’ll float too” in pennywise’s voice to scare everyone and then did his own little imitation of pennywise’s dance. what a dork i cannot stand him
