being robotkin in the age of corporate ai sucks tbh. the idea of truly sentient machines has always been fascinating to me and, in a vacuum, i would love nothing more than to upload my own consciousness to a mechanical body. i had a dream once where i did exactly that and i legit consider it one of the best experiences of my life - not having to worry about pain or illness or the general inconveniences of flesh while existing in a badass custom body and being perceived as distinctly nonhuman while still engaging with my human hobbies and interests and friends? sign me the fuck up!!!!!

but unfortunately all the ai funding and development is going straight to lining billionaires' pockets, starting wars, stealing human creations to churn out unholy amalgam images and misinformation, further grinding down workers' rights, secretly invading the backdoors of private networks, enabling predatory behavior towards women and children, and killing the environment. i wish this timeline wasn't such a garbage fire. if we ever did end up getting cool consciousness-transferring tech it'd almost definitely be run by like, amazon or microsoft and used against people's wills in the most nefarious ways. plus we can't even have so much as bionic eyes without worrying about server shutdowns rendering them useless. it's fucking horrifying.
