I found these on Pinterest and I want to get some for my dorm next fall, any idea where I can find more?
Ownership meant a physical copy. Now you own nothing and can't find what you want across multiple streaming platforms.
Bring back headphones that plug in. Bring back expandable memory. Bring back owning media.
my physical media is SO important to me. when people ask if i collect things i tell them i collect physical media, because genuine ownership is slowly becoming a collectors item. books, dvds, vhs tapes, cds, cassettes, vinyl. these things i have are so important to me. "why do you need the cd? you can just listen to it on your phone." but can i really? when i don't have service how do i listen? when i don't pay how do i listen? when i don't have wireless headphones or a dongle how do i listen?
one of the reasons i prefer cds and cassettes over vinyl is not just for sound quality, i can pack my wired headphones and discman/walkman so easily and i can use it anywhere as long as i have a charger or batteries.
also with movies and tv shows, i will always prefer to sail the seven seas. i have extensive lists of pirating sites for just about all the media i want to consume. books, tv and movies, f1 races, hockey, video games, i mean hell i even found one for my friend to watch baseball games. and if i'm not pirating i'll try and get a physical copy. i have shelves and shelves of dvds and and a box of vhs tapes. when asked why i don't just watch it online my response is always "but what about when it's not online anymore?" because so many things are disappearing or being put behind a paywall.
i will forever treasure my little tv with a built in dvd player and i will forever treasure my vhs/dvd player that plugs into that little tv. i will forever treasure my record player, my cd player, my cassette player. and most of all i will forever treasure the places that still sell all of these things
If I have children/grandchildren who are also into retro stuff I hope they're happy when I pass down 50 grunge adjacent CDs to them
My mom gave me some of her old cds from college!!

No matter how much sleep I get ill always be tired ♡
Part of being a teenage girl is having something genuinely so repulsive embedded into your being that you ruin everything you touch.
