decided to drop dexter. i just can't with love triangles i hate them. i read more spoilers and it seems that it doesn't get better from here. Like wdym debra and lundy became a COUPLE???? I just started liking them as father and daughter and i was sure that was the dynamic they had since debra explicitly mentioned he's like her dad. WDYM THEY END UP DATING????

And again really hate the love triangle thing. And with all the spoilers i read it starting to not sound like a thriller series anymore... I mean don't get me wrong i actually love that dexter isn't the typical "psychopath", i love the idea that that's what he thinks he is when in reality he IS capable of having feelings and caring abt certain people, but i also don't like how at this point it just feel like another messy love triangle drama.

I might be judging some stuff too soon, but since i still have a preference and what i didn't like wasn't something that you'd have to wait for future episodes to explain, i'll be stopping here.

idk why a lot of analysis here talk abt shinichi pre-conan like he has absolutely zero people who understands him and who he's comfortable with. i'm not denying that being conan definitely widen(?) his circle, gave him new genuine connections, and just overall developed him as a person, but there is a *certain* person who understood him and who he's comfortable with from the start. the difference now with other people is just that some know his identity, some don't. and one reason he doesn't tell is bcs he loves that person which could be anyone that he loves like that, so it's not abt the person itself (don't take this as justifying nor condemning conan abt not telling the one person he loves, i'm neutral abt it). has conan became more open, even in a way, towards that person? yeah, but to say that shinichi started out with ZERO genuine connections feels so dismissing of the people im his pre-existing relationship.

#worse is when ppl talk as if the person/those ppl HOLD HIM BACK from making more friends #when it's pretty obvious the life he had was his choice #i'm not interested in bringing up whether him telling that person or not is a good decision #i think that's more of a writing problem and how it makes the decision look #but i'm going with how it's *intended* and i don't think him not telling equates “it's bcs she doesn't understand him”#yeah shinichi before was more tsundere and didn't show much vulnerability but that's the thing that improved overtime (kinda)#but it still doesn't mean the relationship isn't genuine and they didn't understand each other #i'm sorry it just kinda irks me whenever i see ppl say “shinichi before conan didn't have anyone and no one understood him”#that part improved after conan for sure but it didn't start from zero he didn't not have absolutely no one #i'm just repeating my post wth #why am i not naming names aside shinichi/conan? idk ig part of me doesn't really want this post to go out there
