newest favorite string of words to say: "mark knows about the yaoi."
and I say this ominously.
are these anything? rocket man grace and little bloodymary face practice
armando treating simon... skin graft over his cheek where the teeth were, damaged eye removed and replaced with a xenonite one rocky made... most of his ear missing, he can still hear a tiny tiny bit out of that ear. yay
so eva stratt put everything ever on the hard drives of those laptops, right? the crew have access to like, every media ever?
so. bob ross.
i need grace to show simon bob ross. i NEED simon to be enraptured not only by his depictions of trees but just.. the act of painting? i need him to ask the eridians to synthesize (or provide if they already have squishy plants they crush into paste!) paint and brushes and canvas or hide/cloth. and i need him to set up an easel and paint their little simulated ocean or their house or grace's classroom. and obviously grace is thrilled that simon has a hobby and gushes over all his work, hangs them up in the house, etc. simon experiments with using thicker paints/strokes so that rocky can "see" each object in the painting better
Stupid idea if corpse.
david szymanski knowing about bloodymary is hilarious to me. imagine you're an indie horror game creator and a crazy popular gaming youtuber plays your game and loves it so much he turns it into a movie, starring himself. despite being self-funded and produced, it achieves a level of success and earnings so big there are articles written about it challenging hollywood. then a few months later a big hollywood movie comes out also set in space and now a large portion of fan content for your game is ship content of the youtuber's character and ryan gosling.
Simon's mutations mean Erid's gravity has no impact on him — and they don't know it, but he can actually survive fine in the atmosphere, too.
Meanwhile, the starvation and loss of muscle mass means Grace is even more susceptible to Erid's intense gravity. By the time they meet, Grace is already using a wheelchair to move around.
Simon's there four years before Grace's body gives up. The Eridians have no choice but to place him in stasis until they find a solution.
Simon's life the last four years has been a beautiful dream. For the first time in a long time, he's safe. He has people — well, one person and multiple aliens — who care about him. They find him funny! They seek out his company!
There's always food. When Grace finds out he's not from Earth and has never had cake or spaghetti or french fries, Grace moves heaven and Erid to make those foods for him. Simon cries the first time he tastes strawberry shortcake.
Simon gets to see trees and plants and can pick fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse.
On his dark days, though, he feels undeserving. Grace and the Eridians have given him everything, and he can give them nothing in return.
He can fix things, but he's no engineer. He's not able to teach the Eridians science they haven't discovered and change their society. He's just a freeloader.
But then Grace is put in stasis, and Adrian wonders aloud why it is that Simon isn't impacted by Erid's gravity. They ask for a sample of his blood, and Simon doesn't hesitate — he'll bleed himself dry to see Grace smile again.
And they discover a lot of things. How Simon was made less human by The Blood Ocean, but how it's this terrible thing that happened to him that will save Grace, that will allow him to thrive in Erid the way Simon has.
He's been treated less than human his whole life, and then he finds a place where he's respected and valued, and it's there that he finds that he's now the Less Than Human he's always been treated as.
Except no one even CARES how human he is or isn't, and they all love him just the same, and also he SAVED Grace, and Grace wakes up and smiles still a bit tiredly, and he's THANKFUL for The Blood Ocean, and that's a whole 'nother can of worms, and this whole thing has basically meant having about ten cans of worms he needs to deal with, except Grace is SAFE and that supersedes everything else, and — shit, is he in love with Grace?
I'm sure he likes all animals
Simon continues to rejoice at the fact that he can look at recordings of something living existing on Earth
btw, this is one of the first comics I drew about them
For pride month everyone should have to listen to their trans friends favorite gay audio drama
Its actually so important to me that Ryland Grace is a teacher. Not a professor, not someone at the top of their field teaching the smartest people, but a middle school science teacher. Of course he figured out how to communicate with an alien in under a day. His main expertise is explaining complex subjects to a group that doesnt have the vocabulary or context to fully understand them. He knows exactly how to simplify things down to its core principles without sacrificing any of the scientific logic. And he knows how to do it without having to throw around hyperspecific terminology.
hi so I watched project hail mary a few days ago

【Star Animal 】 Appears when it gets cold and likes grains and nuts. This year, peanuts and chestnuts were abundant, so they’ve been eating a lot. Favorite food: cashews.

i think the reason why the assassination of Julius Caesar is one of the funniest political assassinations is for this very simple reason:
1 guy stabs 1 guy: not funny. that's murder.
2 guys stab 1 guy: even less funny. that's two against one.
60 guys stab 1 guy: uproariously funny. why do you need so many guys.
60 guys say they'll stab 1 guy, but he only ends up with 23 stab wounds: peak comedy and peak relatability for group projects. what can surpass it?
