The only thing I don’t like about the Sonic movie redesign is that based on early footage, promotional images, and merchandise, it’s heavily implied that we would have seen Sonic’s feet in the movie. The original baby Sonic plush has no shoes or socks, implying he was barefoot. Not only that, the original Sonic design didn’t wear socks, and if the origins of his red shoes remain the same as in the redesign, we would have possibly seen his feet for over half of the movie. Not to mention the part where robotnik analyzes Sonic’s (humanoid) footprint, and the part where we can see the soles of his feet through his worn out socks in that one scene, I think we were just really robbed of an opportunity here.
