“I didn’t wake up one morning and say, “I’m quitting my job, I’m going to look for clients!” I think that’s stupid when people do that. Get the opportunity first. When you’d interview years ago, people would say, “What’s your five-year plan?” and I would have SO much anxiety from that. What I learned is, work as hard as you can. Take every opportunity, go to every single event. I went to four events a night for as long as I could remember. People will come to you. Now, younger people want to go to the gym, they want to go home and binge-watch. I went out—I went out to anything I possibly could. I always tell people to meet at least one person. People are at parties because they want to meet people.
