Grover: “So, thank you for the emotional abuse and the cheeseburgers.”

just wanna leave all responsibilities behind and eat fresh fruits and pastries by the ocean and feel the sun on my skin right now
Call me neurotypical but I actually love small talk conversations about the weather
It’s warm and sunny and a perfect 70 degrees today? That’s awesome! Maybe we should go for a walk
It’s rainy and humid and maybe a little muggy, but the smell of rain is lingering in the air? What a perfect day to read a book
There’s a blizzard outside and the roads aren’t quite plowed yet? What a shame but I bet the snow is pretty and it makes the heat of a blanket a million times more comforting
I fucking love talking about the weather!
Bracket 2, Round 2
Gatorade VS. Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson)
Gatorade
Percy Jackson
Rick Riordan should have some minor role in the pjo series and appear in every season like Stan Lee did with the Marvel movies.
He could be a teacher at Percy's school, then someone buying Sally's blue cookies, then some mortal receptionist at a place that's very clearly magical and so on. In this essay I will-
Percy Jackson was a great character because he was just So Angry. Literally the only time an author has accurately portrayed the bloodlust of being a twelve year old with adhd.
Have you ever had a pet named after either a celebrity or a name from a tv show/movie/book?
Yes i did
No i never did that
Put in the tags please if you answered yes lets have fun with this
For example my childhood dog was named Cher after the singer and yes she had a brother named Sunny
today the girl ringing me up at the gas station said “ok, have a nice day. i love you” and i said “what” and she repeated “i love you” with better diction
I love love and am terrified of it just like everyone else
there’s obviously a lot of nuance to to this conversation, but I feel like the way that people nowadays talk about friendships is so cold and devoid of love or empathy. like you aren’t allowed to complain or be sad, ur burdening ur friends with ur problems, helping someone through a hard time is ‘emotional labour’ and ‘you don’t owe anyone anything’ and I’m just thinking what does friendship even mean to you then? like honestly? people say ‘I’m not your therapist’ as if therapy is the answer to everything. what a sad world where a paid clinician is the only person you’re allowed to be emotionally vulnerable with. this ultra individualistic mindset leads to everyone feeling alone and isolated and we’ve lost all concept of community and support systems
my favorite trope is when someone believes they’re hard to love and someone who loves them like it’s breathing.
*poker face playing on repeat in the background*
whenever i see a baby in public i wish i were like a powerful faerie god mother character who could give the baby a gift like “you’ll never get a cold” or “math will always make sense to you” or something like bein’ great with string instruments but I don’t have any powers that I know of but it doesn’t stop me from trying so every time I see a baby in public I tell the adult with it “what a beautiful baby” and it makes them smile and then I pretend I can take the goodness of their smile and I look at the baby and I think very hard “you will have a good life, even if it’s hard, you will end up happy” and I’m just hopin’ the magic kicks in at some point
I’m rewatching Merlin for the first time in years and this might have already been said but
MORGANA DID NOTHING WRONG! JUSTICE FOR MORGANA
The fact that Merlin is actively supporting a regime that oppresses him makes me sad. Morganas entire goal is to overthrow a corrupt king, a king that committed and continues to commit genocide against people who practice magic. And we’re supposed to root for this guy and want to keep him in power?
Merlin knows that he would be killed if Uther knew he has powers. And instead he opposes Morgana in her endeavor to overthrow a tyrant?
I know later in the show she does take over and becomes a bit of a tyrant herself, but I still think her original motives in the earlier seasons are completely justified. They just made her more of a villain in season 4 to justify why Merlin opposes her. She’s the “darkness to his light” or whatever but I think that’s bullshit. Morgana was just trying to make a better world for herself and other magic users! And she believed her only option for that was to overthrow Uther. Can you blame her?
Also one could make the argument that BBCs Merlin is an analogy for the “Dont Ask Don’t Tell” mindset surrounding gay people in the 2000s-early 2010s, but I won’t get into all that here. Unless you want me to 👀
"Walkable city" is not "City where to have to walk everywhere."
"Walkable city" is.
Sidewalks big enough to fit you, your stroller, your wheelchair, your guide dog, or anything else you need when you're getting from one place to another.
Safe crosswalks frequent enough so you don't need to walk in traffic.
Bike lanes to keep bikes out of foot traffic and car traffic.
Accessible and affordable public transit.
Cities where the essentials are close enough you can travel on foot (or in wheelchair)
Cities where it's reasonable to be able to get from point a to point b without requiring you, yourself, to drive
People get so caught up in the "Walkable" part of the term and like to spout "Walkable cities are abelist because not everyone can walk".
Bitch. The modern city structure is abelist because not everyone can drive. And classist because not everyone can afford a car and it's pretty damn impossible to get a job if you don't have a car.
Walkable cities are cities where people can reasonably get from pointA to pointB without requiring a motor vehicle.
"But fae. Disabled people have issues using the paths in modern cities." Bitch abled people can barely use the paths in modern cities. That's kind of the fucking problem.
Also walkable cities have fucking benches. Not only for disabled people. But sometimes you just twist your ankle and need to sit for a moment.
"Put fae. If you have benches, homeless people will sleep on them."
Then get fucking housing for the homeless. Problem solved. They'll sleep in their nice warm homes instead of on the benches.
-fae
Additional things I’d like for the Walkable Cities:
-Water-Fountains. Just, free, public water-fountains. Maybe also get the kind that has the “for dogs” lower spigot/bowl thing? But definitely water-fountains.
-Public Parks (at least those that reach a certain size) should have Public Restrooms. Again, this just makes life better for everyone.
please be nice to me, i'm in my twenties. do you know what that does to a person
