I am so tired of short-attention-span, trim-the-fat culture. All writing advice these days is for how to write like Chuck Palahniuk. "Cut 'think', cut 'feel', cut 'wonder' - only action, only pushing forward, show and move and move and move." What if I could emulate this style, and still don't want to? What if I want to write like Henry James, with three paragraphs of introspective musings between each dialogue line? The music advice is, "make it shortform, make it Tik-Tok compatible, make it punchy, hit the refrain as soon as possible." What if I want that 10-minute prog rock piece? What if I want that symphony? What if I want it slow and luxurious and lazy? Movies. Series. Poetry. Bodies. Everything is "trimmed trimmed trimmed trimmed, stripped bare, you have three seconds to win me over, make it airport chic." I don't want to win you over, then, I guess. I want the fat left it. I want the pleasure and the indolence and the indulgence. Fuck this art-advice that's always "your art needs Ozempic."

THIS!!! Plus the whole phenomenon of directors being told their movies/shows need to be "second screen" enough, no creative should be told they should take away from their work in order to have it be made with the awareness it will just be passing background noise.

Little Update

Sorry for the lack of posts lately: life, school and work has been kicking my butt lately, and I still haven't recovered from the 2hr+ euthanasia appointment I had last week. Eventually I may make some mini comics on my originals account, because I feel like many people see Vet Tech work as just playing with puppies, when there is SO much stress and emotional fatigue involved that I wish was acknowledged more. Anyway, sorry to vent, more art soon and thanks to those of you who have followed me recently- I truly appreciate it a lot ♥️♥️

Sketchy sketchy wip from this afternoon b/c I was sad, haven't worked on anything art related in over a week, and needed to at least attempt to do something to wake my brain up a tad....Definitely a crazy world lately and I'm sure we are all feeling it. Anywho, not to get too into all that, here's more FPP fanart because it's fun - eventually will continue on with this as well as clean it up :) Was considering just skipping to one of my favorite scenes to draw some angst, but another time I suppose

.....hey hey, so it's been a bit. Fell off for a while from working on art from some medical/life/school stuff going on. Things have been getting better, but honestly with everything going on around it I am so burned out on this piece (plus I didn't plan it out well to start :/ ) So for now I'm going to scrap it here and move on to other projects I want to do. Moving slow on this one between work, school, and other projects, but I'm chipping away at it :) (Also drawing their shoes?! Crazy, love the look, but they are SO weird feeling to draw lol)

Could have polished this a lot more, but I had fun experimenting with skipping my usual line art phase and hopping right into the rendering- definitely something I want to practice at more and see if it can speed up my comic workflow. Plus I really wanted to upload something today Any-who, this is more fanart from @fyreiswriting 's fic, how I picture the opening begins :) <3 It is SO tempting to do a full comic cover of the full story, but that would probably take years with the absolute beast Fyre is having written 105 chapters and still going - so it'll probably just be snippets lol I hope everyone has a good day/night!
