"You're the one they speak of in whispers... The lion king's shadow," Ashnard sneered from atop his mount, "What are you doing so far from your body, shadow? Am I so terrible that your king hides in fear?"

It was an obvious taunt meant to get a rise out of Giffca, though his expression remained as placid as Ashnard's wasn't.

"He has a message for you, actually," Giffca said as he pulled out an envelope and tossed it up to the mad king, "We felt it was better if you heard it directly from him."

Ashnard's eyes narrowed as he caught the envelope, but he made a show of averting his gaze from Giffca to open it using Gurgurant, as if to taunt him by giving him the initiative to attack, as if the first strike wouldn't matter.

Inside the envelope was a folded piece of paper, which when unfolded revealed an deeply detailed image painted by someone who surely was a master artisan. It seemed the king of Gallia wasted no expense in having it made, and using such an expensive painting for a mere message itself was a message for Daein's king.

It looked something like this:

"You little-!"

The veins in Ashnard's face somehow bulged out even further as rage consumed him, though in terms of reactions to that painting, Giffca would place it somewhere between the second and the third time he had to deliver it to Dheginsea; high in raw emotion, though severely weak in articulation.

Giffca sighed as he re-equipped his Laguz Band.

It would still be a chore to deal with Ashnard, but he considered himself lucky that this time, at least, he had his choice in how he chose to pacify the recipient.

If you weren't aware, Fire Emblem E3, an exposé of up and coming FE romhack projects, is currently live. Dozens of showcase videos are being shown off on the FE Universe YouTube channel.

I'm excited to say that I've been helping out with Project Baldr, a Sacred Stones-based remake of Genealogy of the Holy War. The team reached out to me to tell me that apparently they'd been using my FE4 event gallery videos to write their game script, and since then I've been offering ideas about fleshing out certain characters and sketching out ideas for supports. One of the difficulties of this project is converting Genealogy's love growth and inheritance mechanics into a GBA-style support system. I've begun the process of writing out the supports I'm interested in, and while none of that is going to make it into the FEE3 presentation I'm really looking forward to using this opportunity to explore some of my favorite Jugdral characters and scenarios. This being me, I'm taking it as a personal challenge to make this project gayer than any official FE, even with it being a remake of the original eugenics baby game.

Anyway, Project Baldr's presentation will be this Friday, 13 October, at 18:00 EST. I'll probably post a link to the video on my channel as well after it releases. Check it out if you're interested!
