I think it's funny world-building how like, so at the center of Life we've got Water. Arguably The most important resource. Colorless transparent substance that molds to any container and we die without it and quickly. And all organic functions of society hinge on its availability. Could fight a ton of wars over this thing.
And well beyond organic life, modern society's great human invention is the Electronic Magic. Our greatest minds invented the Electronic Magic and it sends information around the world instantly. Our infrastructure our economy our modern life, minute by minute by minute, hinges on utilizing the great Lighting Technology.
BUT ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️ DO NOT. DO NOT EVER. get the magical Elixir Substance of Life and Living and Healing, Water, IN the Electronic Device. The water keeps you alive critically but it KILLS the Electronic Device instantly and catastrophically. This Says something.
and this Says something...

(Tumblr removed the old post due to an honest penis, so here's a censored version for cowards) Jabikah (Giants) Jabikah (referred to as simply "Giants" by most) are the largest and most cold resistant of the speaking peoples on the continent of Lardromor. With almost perfect memories and long life spans they are seen as the wisest people (or at least the most effective archivist), having an intricate spoken history as far back as their massive Ogrikah ancestors who witnessed the early Mountain world and the evolution of life. Despite this vast access of information, the Jabikah language is a struggle to parse due to their natural speaking tones being so low, often described as being felt more than heard by smaller peoples. The Jabikah may compensate by adjusting to higher pitches known as "Luki Baba", or "Little Talk". Due to a long history of slavery by both the ancient divine and the modern mortal, the majority of Jabikah culture is isolated to the harsh boreal country of Czarzemlaw. This large and long-wintered land was famously brutal, even for the Gods, with most non-Kah living close to the border and only migrating further in during the spring. The spring is a vital survival and economic time for the Jabikah, as they farm en masse various corns, wheats, fruits and grasses to store for the winter and sell to trusted traders. This is the busiest you'll ever see native Jabikah, as the winter is time of much waiting and walking. Boredom and fire has lead to their invention of popcorn. Outside of Czarzemlaw, Jabikah are either slaves or the descendants of slaves. Many small-folk would mistake the Outer-Kah and the Czarzem-Kah as completely different species due to the outsider's shaving culture. Initially done to reduce overheating as slaves, many Jabikah shave their fur strategically to create styles, usually to match the culture's they live with or define their own Giant Clique.

Could you explain why Secret Lair moved from print-to-demand to a limited-print-run model? I thought it was so that the cards could be preprinted to reduce time between ordering and shipping, but a decent number of recent Secret Lairs have had their distribution delayed due to "production issues", which implies that they're no longer being printed in advance of sale. Why are we using a worse sales model if it's not even solving the problem it was intended to solve?
I did a podcast with Lindsey Bartell, the senior director for Secret Lair where we talked about this.
We only did print to demand for the very early days of Secret Lair (like six months), and it was untenable from a business standpoint. We are now reserving printing time a year ahead of time. That’s far different than a product being delayed a month or two.
Most of the time you think of as “print to demand” actually wasn’t. We just printed way more than we needed to guarantee we had enough to mail out. And that resulted in us destroying a *lot* of product. It was also untenable from a business standpoint.
We are working to improve our ability to forecast, but the huge increase in players plus the experimental nature of Secret Lair makes it difficult. We are getting better at it, but slowly.
And why is product being destroyed instead of just... selling the excess later? Or giving it out as prizes somehow? Or doing secret lair grab bags?
Short answer is because the FOMO is good for them. Long answer is that if you convince people that your cardboard is worth a lot of money you don't want give out too many free copies because it will lower the price on the secondary market and make it hard to convince people that your next piece of cardboard is worth a lot of money.
Remember that to them a secret lair and a draft chaff common cost about the same amount of money to manufacture, so this isn't really different from someone throwing away the worthless commons they don't want.
i think many of the posts protesting the age verification update are kind of missing the point and protesting the wrong thing
this update fucking sucks. im not defending it. but tumblr is never going to roll back on it because it would cause a legal nightmare for them when theyre already losing money. the alternative here is that they make it so people in the uk and brazil just cannot access the website.
i think what would be more productive is instead spreading resources on how to protest governments against these laws, and to spread resources on how to get around it (e.g. trustworthy free vpns. i personally use the free version of proton vpn)
another thing to protest would be how it's being implemented in addition to tumblrs shitty system to flag mature content
something steam does to prove you're over 18 is allow you to add a credit card as a payment method (you don't have to buy anything with it, it just has to be saved to your account). this still sucks but, to me at least, it feels far more reasonable than giving your id.
demanding they go back on it just isnt reasonable. this is something beyond tumblr.
with all that being said, do not give your id to these websites.
One way to protest governments against these laws is to pressure tech companies to make it so that citizens of these governments just can't access the website (without using a vpn)
Important rules for the "age verification" era of the internet that we're living in:
1. Do not do age verification.
2. If you have to do age verification, cheat. Do not under any circumstances give them your real ID.
The tool presents users with a 3D model they can then manipulate to, the creator says, bypass Discord's age verification system.
Oh no I dropped my link, what a horrible thing! Sure hope this doesn't get reblogged until it reaches users from the UK and Brazil!
And remember to not make a second account just to test out what works best when verifying your identity
A reminder that we still dont support Age Verification bullshit.
